If the nature of the cases are completely different, why did you bring them up on a thread about rape?

It is precisely because of the differences wrt rape that we require a different approach.

Because the same principles have to apply to all areas of the justice system.

What would that approach be?

What id love to see is the prosecution going through the defendants phone and asking him about messages to his mates saying he loved that club cause the girls were always pissed, saying because he carried condoms he was obviously determined on having sex, dragging their friends in and asking him how often he bragged about sexual conquests, how often they have been tested for stds. But their past acts and reputation seem to be off the table.

Surely the main principle of justice is, erm Justice. Victims of sexual assault are not receiving justice. This must be rectified.

That is being worked on in legal circles and women's rights organisations. We're a long way away, but getting closer.

That already is intensely scrutinised at every step , from the initial police complaint, to the CPS decision to prosecute, to going to trial. It often is the reason for not being believed to begin with and the complaint not going any further, or not prosecuting in the first place. And if it does go to trial it is often used as part of the defence, down to what kind of underwear the victim was wearing. What more do you want?

I am not qualified to state what specific changes will come about to get justice for rape victims. Nor am I party to the discussions happening in legal circles. Do you want me to lie, or pretend I know? Because I won't.

Nobody hates women talking about this. Nobody man or woman is defending rapists. Everybody has agreeded that things are not good enough and should change. That does beg the question what should those changes be and nobody on this thread has come up with any changes that I think would be viable.

I think some people are confusing not agreeing with them with against them.
