Has anybody ever actually gone to A&E because they were suicidal or just not coping?

What do they do? Do they let you go? Do they involve SS?

oh darling, well done, I know how hard it has been for you to physically get to appointments etc, never mind mentally.

You could always try taking the cilatropram at night rather than in morning, if driving is an issue. But NOT if you're gonna take with diazepam.

Has GP told you where you can ring in another crisis? You'll be seeing gp again soo to monitor Ads, yes?

puddytats · 05/08/2009 12:35

Well done. I had citralopram for a while and had no reaction to it at all. Please give it a go, now you have made the first step hopefully the next one will be a little easier.

FabBakerGirlIsBack · 05/08/2009 12:55

You do need to take the citalopram. I had some rare side effects but my driving is fine. Just don't drive when you are very very tired.

TigerFeet · 05/08/2009 12:59

ABW I've been on citalopram since, god, i dunno, a loooong time. Years, on and off. I am taking a low dose atm. It hasn't affected my driving at all which has always been a bit dodgy anyway.

Glad you have a referral any idea how long it will take?

I also have a box of diazepam in my cupboard but have never taken it. Like you I need to be compos mentis enough to drive.

Take the citalopram. If your driving is affected then the GP can find something else.

ABitWrong · 05/08/2009 15:39

Okay, I am panicking now. I can't take it. It says it increases risk of suicide or self harm. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

I phoned doctor to ask about driving and she said most people are fine. But then I read the leaflet. I can't do this.

Seeing her again in 2 weeks.

Art therapist phoned, seeing her on Tues. She says she will devise care plan. Then I will have emergency numbers.

Referral hopefully soon. Doctor is contacting themm today.

puddytats · 05/08/2009 16:41

Ok, you can take it, not everyone has the increased risk and even if you do then it is only for a couple of weeks and you have us to help you through those times.

Please do not panic about it, think of the long term tather than just the next week or 2.

If you are really concerned call the Doctor again for reassurance, she will not care how many times you call her, she would rather you did than sat and paniced.

2 weeks, mate, and you will start to feel better. Take things hour by hour. We are all here to hold your hand

littlerach · 05/08/2009 18:01

Thanks fuck you've got something ABW.
Please take it.

You really give th einmpression of being fine in RL, I don't know how you do it.

Can I come over on behalf of Molly and tell XP to bugger off? Or just take you out without the childrne for a bit?

Molly speaks real sense:
"If it Is To Be It IS Up To Me. (ten tiny words. which mean only you can make it happen) "

You can make a change, ABW, you just need the strength to do so.

xx

ABitWrong · 05/08/2009 18:04

Well I took a diazepam instead. Only 9 left now.
I don't have emergency support until tuesday.
Too risky.
And I forgot to ask about ODing. There are 28 of them.

Think it is fear of being discovered to be a dangerous loony combined with politeness that make me seem okay.
Well, with the exception of the kicking incident.

Oh god, if they ask me again if there has ever been a danger of harming others, I might laugh like a maniac.

Yes yes, come and take me out, out out and away
Except I left dcs this morning for doc, have to leave them again this eve for meeting, and friday, also have appt on tues, another in 2 weeks and next assessment or whatever at some point. Might be pushing my luck.

TigerFeet · 05/08/2009 18:14

Did it help ABW?
Will it get you through to Tuesday?

You can go back to the docs you know, and ask for something else if you aren't happy with the possible side effects of citalopram.

ABitWrong · 05/08/2009 18:21

Don't know, can't take it a lot, it makes me spacey and drowsy. Plus doc made point of telling me it is addictive.

OP posts:
TigerFeet · 05/08/2009 18:25

My doc told me to take the diazepam to keep me going until the citalopram kicked in. Might be worth a try? Start the citalopram and use the diazepam to keep you on an even keel until it starts to work? Perhaps you could take it in the evenings. It should help you sleep.

Yes it is addictive, but a week or two's use is fine. It's the more long term users that have trouble.

ABitWrong · 05/08/2009 18:25

actually no am not feeling too good

ok ABW. What can you do to get through the next 10 mins. Let's break it down into manageable chunks. Then the next 10 mins etc.

weegiemum · 05/08/2009 19:39

ABW I have sent you a CAT and my facebook details if you want to get in touch.

weegiemum · 05/08/2009 19:40

ABW is there anything you need to do right now? With children or anything, that could give you something to give your attention to for the next few minutes?

skybright · 05/08/2009 20:48

If this is any help at all i have nursed loads of people starting an anti dee.

Almost all folk are fine to drive, the most common side effect is a dry mouth and sometimes feeling a little sick.

The change in the way you can feel is amazing in lots of people.

Usually it is a fairly gradual change, getting up in the morning seems that little bit easier..your head stops pounding a little less etc.

Honestly i think it will really be worth it for you.

A good way to look at it if you hate taking medication (i do as well) is that in essence if you do not need a boost from the anti dee's nothing will happen in your body, your mood would stay the same, which is the same as taking a vitamin tablet that you already have enough of in your body iyswim.

Your chemicals are deficiant you are just trying to give them a bit of a boost. Good luck.x
