Work and having to look for work

I removed multiple people.
I cut out so many people in my life that were toxic, attention seeking, joy vampires and as hard as it was, I now have a very peaceful and drama free life!

Men. Specifically relationships with men. Life is about 90% better without them.

My uterus! Although it sent me into immediate, medical menopause, losing that useless organ was up there, being the best thing I ever did. Stable hormones. No more degrading periods. Fab!

I'd LOVE to remove politics from my life. I avoided them for a good 10 years when I lived overseas. But now I'm back, I've been sucked back into keeping up with them and it's soul destroying.

The news more than once a day. And I haven't dated for years.

  • Rescuing my friends & always being the one who checks in. Surprising who actually checks in on me.
  • Saying yes to too many things
  • Giving too much of my energy to the NHS, no longer taking on more & more tasks at work
  • Sharing a bed with my gorgeous husband, sleep is my top priority now.
  • Relinquishing social media

My mother !!!

Like many ex'D'P.

It was a bit late though because my physical health is terrible due to all the stress. I have been forced to give up work.

Do you mind me asking what anti anxiety medication you recommend

I have tried most SSRIs. The one that’s worked most effectively for me in controlling both depression and anxiety is escitalopram. My GP told me it is the “cleanest” in that it has the fewest incidents of side effects and is a little more expensive so doctors will, often try other SSRIs first (like sertraline). I totally get you about being too anxious to take it. The worst thing I’ve ever had was trying a non SSRI and I had a day of feeling very buzzy - serotonin syndrome. So I just stopped taking that. Otherwise I’ve never had any side effects either going on or off the drugs and, having recently tried to stop taking the escitalopram, I know now that I’m likely on it for life to be able to function - otherwise I have panic attacks. The hardest step is taking the first dose or so but if you try it, it might just really help you. And if you don’t, it can’t.

Reading the news, any app or feed on social media. It’s all bad news and anxiety inducing

Having my uterus removed was and is the best thing ever, I wish it was a common thing as it solves so many problems and is useless if done/not having babies. I kept my ovaries so no change in hormones though. But yeah freedom from monthly cycles and pregnancy worries is priceless

The habit I had of agreeing to almost everything. I’ve now learned to say no more often and if people don’t like it, that’s tough.

My Mother. Since 2019 haven't seen or spoke to. A Self righteous, toxic narcisist, constant victim, manipulator, downright miserable, twisted excuse for a human being. My life and my mental health have improved dramatically since going NC. Best decision i ever made !!
