Hello! I am feeling a bit low at the moment and am looking for ways out of this through productivity. While my child is at school I am trying to work alone at home. I wanted to suggest looking for accountability buddies.... a group where you can share your list of to dos as a way of making yourself accountable. The aim would only be to be supportive of each other in a non judgmental way. The accountability really comes from inside the writer.... but it might I think help to put something up on line.
I think I can help myself by putting up a list of things I am trying to get done and noting them down as I do them. SO, here goes... if anyone wants to join me they would be most welcome.... and I will do my best to cheer them on! best petal.

Oo does any one else have this... I sit in front of a task and just cant bring myself to begin.... just feel rather tired and unmotivated... overwhelmed....
However need to think that once it is done I can do nicer things in the day....
sp will be very pleased if it is done...
so will I
praps its not so bad if I listen to a nice radio programme at same time...

ok.... here goes.... start off with
surfaces in kitchen cleared 5.29
washing out and new one in
black berries soaking to clean
surface 1 clear!! 6.03
washing up machine empty6.17
clear surface 1.
internet search on cat ladders!!!
7.10 surface 1
ok tea toast break....now
7.18
cleaned one surface
second load of washing
washing hung out
clear surface 3.

Well... got all kitchen tidy .... but have spent the day cooking pretty much all day and now it is a mess again..... and the whole house too. Feel pretty overwhelmed by it all. It is so hard to keep/get on top of tidying a house if you are working too.
However.... sp in bed earlier than yesterday.... perhaps I can at least get back to square one in kitchen and b room before bed and also tidy sitting room.... perhaps. Tomorrow got someone mending windows..... will have to somehow tidy bedrooms before they come.
action stations...

ValancyRedfern · 15/09/2019 17:29

Hello again! Feeling crushingly sad so to do list is to do some of my CBT work. Also some work for school but trying to prioritise my sanity over work for once. Hope today is going well!

ValancyRedfern · 15/09/2019 17:32

@petal2019 well done on your cleaning!

Cittadina · 15/09/2019 19:55

Hello again :)

This was my list:
My to do list:
Get off the phone AYE
Wash dishes AYE
Go out to the cinema without my phone AYE
Make a gratitude list AYE
Buy batteries for scales NO (because my DH said we have them at home)
Report back tonight. AYE

This is my gratitude list:
I am healthy
I have a job (albeit temporary)
I am loved

And this is my planned list for tonight/tomorrow:

No electronics in the bedroom (phone/laptop)
get up at 7
do 30 mins exercise
washed and ready by 9.30

Good luck everyone!!

Cittadina · 15/09/2019 19:56

@ValancyRedfern Hope you felt better after your CBT homework. I am also having CBT but not really helping me.

ValancyRedfern · 16/09/2019 06:35

Thank you @cittadina. To be honest it didn't help at all but I feel like I've got to keep going because if it doesn't work I've nothing left.
Today:
Yoga - done
Eat three healthy meals (not something I often manage)
Don't talk about my problems in front of DD.

Cittadina · 16/09/2019 10:31

@ValancyRedfern I feel the same about CBT- it's as if it's talking to my rationality but it's not my rationality it's broken. It's my 'soul' (for want of a better word) and my 'brave' that are hurt. But, like you, i am soldiering on.

Cittadina · 16/09/2019 10:34

So list:

No electronics in the bedroom (phone/laptop)
Well that was an epic fail because I had the insomnia form hell so I had to read some really boring news to get myself back to sleep. I was awake from 2 to 5.

get up at 7
Because of the insomnia I was super groggy but got up at 7.30 so I'd count that as a win!

do 30 mins exercise
Yes - done! Not fun, not pretty but done.

washed and ready by 9.3
yes - done!

My list for today is:

  • to go through my work list *no sugary foods *eat when hungry
ValancyRedfern · 18/09/2019 19:19

I'm little miss competent at work at the moment but get home and I fall apart. Binged badly last night and was up through the night vomitting. So list for this evening:
No bingeing!
Exercise
No phone after 9pm. Read a book after exercising instead.

ValancyRedfern · 19/09/2019 07:09

Sorry @CittadinaI missed your last post. Yes I agree it all makes perfect sense but I can't do it. I am trying to keep practicing in the hope it starts to seep into my soul!

Managed my list for last night!
Today:
Eat three sensible meals
Yoga
Buy a washing up sponge and do the washing up (l live in a hovel).
Have a good day everyone!

ValancyRedfern · 22/09/2019 17:56

Hello! Hope everyone is ok. Feeling good today as have exercised, worked and taken DD to a party. (Unfortunately the party was actually in two weeks' time and I got the date completely wrong but I'm counting the fact I didn't beat myself up too much as a win!)
Also managed to sort and fold dd's clothes (house/domestic stuff is my absolute Achilles heal). So counting today as a win!

petal2019 · 22/09/2019 18:34

Hello again!
I have been under a huge amount of pressure recently but have managed to get most of the tidying done I needed to in a superficial way..... last spurt now.
I was just thinking however, that I really need to change my whole approach. I tend to really put off doing things instead of really getting on with them while I have the energy earlier in the day. Instead I mess around on the computer for ages then do a tiny amount later of tidying and then suddenly flake out with tiredness. So today my aim is I think to get the essentials done. aim.... meal ready, sp in bed early, major task p task for today done.... then.... get as much of the major pw task done as I can this evening. I dread this... but I think if I tackle it head on it might not be so bad. so wish me luck!! p.

Hello. Having a terrible time and trying to remind myself that on Sunday I was ok. To do list for today: survive a day at work after only 2 hours sleep. Make an important decision. And breathe!

ValancyRedfern · 25/09/2019 06:04

@petal2019 I agree with you doing the difficult things first is the way to do. Easier said than done though!

petal2019 · 07/01/2020 05:19

Well.... Hallo and happy new year 2020!!
I am back again and facing the most chaotic house I have ever created. So will tacking layers at a time... the first layer being the floor downstairs!!
