Stick with it 43, it may not feel like it but you're doing the right thing and you're doing really well. It isn't a good idea to take the odd day off or skip doses, because often the side effects are not so much caused by the drug as by changes in the drug. When I was on Citalopram I had 2 or 3 weeks of side effects (not bad, mainly dizziness) when I first went on, when I came off, or when I changed the dose. Then it stabilises. So if you skip doses you don't give your body a break from the effects, you just have even more of an up and down effect on the amount of medication in the system and don't get to stabilise things.
I know some people find low doses helpful, but technically I don't think 10mg is really a dose that is going to get results, it is a stepping stone to 20mg or more which should be more effective. In fact now Citalopram isn't prescribed much in doses higher than 20mg, so you'll probably end up on that. So to really see results you will probably need to work up to taking 20mg, and also give it some time. I have never found any effects from ADs before 2 or 3 weeks at the least. I'm just being honest, but don't worry because some people do find they help faster. You will get through this either way, I promise there is light at the end of the tunnel, whether from these drugs or from other factors. You won't always feel like this.
It can make you feel worse at first. You have to keep an eye out, as there are limits to what you should tolerate before going to the doctors, but in most cases you just get through that bit and wait to see if the drug is for you once you stabilise. If the side effects continue or if they disappear but the drug isn't helping, there are others that probably will suit you. Most likely citalopram will be fine for you though. When it does start to work, it can be subtle, you don't always notice the gradual effects but then you realise you're managing better.
Don't worry about the leaflet. I once took a drug that had sudden death listed as a side effect
