Good luck with the appointments, let us know how they go! Smile

Mentalpsychiatrist · 20/01/2015 12:56

All done. Not quite as mentally normal as I'd thought. More zolpidem and aripiprazole for me Confused

Millie2013 · 20/01/2015 13:07

Bums
how you feel about that?

Millie2013 · 20/01/2015 13:07

How are you today, Snowy?

SnowyMouse · 20/01/2015 13:12

Oh dear mental Sad Hmm I hope the side effects aren't too bad, and they work.

I'm very low millie, and getting suicidal ideation.

Mentalpsychiatrist · 20/01/2015 13:22

I have no problems taking aripiprazole so a higher dose is no biggie. She was more worried about the sleep then I am but a few zolpidem never hurt anyone. Back in two weeks to be checked over again.

Mitchy1nge · 20/01/2015 13:27

does aripiprazole help with sleep by itself?

have never quite understood why a recognised treatment for mania would come under the 'too activating for mitchy' heading, the alternatives on offer are awful eg olanzapine

OP posts:
Mentalpsychiatrist · 20/01/2015 13:32

Aripiprazole is entirely non-sedating, I take it in the morning. It also has no nasty weight gain side effects.

Have clinic now, see you all later.

Mitchy1nge · 20/01/2015 13:32

is it because there is something else wrong with me that they're not telling me about?

OP posts:
Enpoid · 20/01/2015 13:34

Everyone I know seems to be on olanzapine Confused It's the in drug round here.

I know you were a bit worried about your sleep Mental; hope this sorts it out. Not true about the zolpidem though.

Snowy, sorry you're having such a tough time Sad

Mitchy1nge · 20/01/2015 13:37

enjoy clinic, am constructing lunch (and wondering how caulk is)

so far have lovingly prepared, in my microwave, a 135g bag of 'hearty farmhouse mix' vegetables for 40 calories, a sachet of tilda wholegrain basmati (the carb quest continues) say 320 cals and am wondering whether to add hot sauce or if there is some protein somewhere in the house and if so would 5g of grated parmesan (a further 40 cals) be it?

OP posts:
Enpoid · 20/01/2015 13:41

Having sliced chicken, leftover cucumber raita, houmous, salsa I've just made, and ruing the paper cut in my thumb as it suffered tomato, onion, lime and chilli juice.

Mitchy1nge · 20/01/2015 13:48

ow! lunch sounds great though

have opted for 25g of apetina light feta cubes (40 cals) and a tsp of chipotle hot sauce (say 2) so without rounding up the rice it comes to a pleasing 400 cals

now all we have to do is eat it!

argh snowy I missed your post in my rush to chat about lunch

am sorry you are feeling so awful, what is the plan for such times - do you email your cpn again?

OP posts:
CaulkheadUpNorth · 20/01/2015 13:58

Hello, am here. I had the appt and then drove around for a bit, now home.

I have been discharged, they can't offer me anything. Psychiatrist was lovely and kind and nice and so I don't mind.

Hugs and congratulations and small kicks for those who need any of them, take what you will.

Going back to bed.

CaulkheadUpNorth · 20/01/2015 13:58

(Haven't read thread, sorry if I jumped in in the middle of something, will make tea and come back)

SnowyMouse · 20/01/2015 14:01

I'm seeing CPN early next week, hoping I can wait til then. It's fleeting ideation so not too severe. I'm hoping this is just a blip.

Is your gp going to support you, caulk?

Mitchy1nge · 20/01/2015 14:05

yes hopefully a little blip snowy Flowers

that probably wasn't the outcome everyone else had in mind caulk, could it be because you are partly being treated elsewhere?

OP posts:
brightandbreezyNot · 20/01/2015 14:07

Cake Cake Flowers just thought I would send you all these to enjoy because by the sounds of it everyone is a little 'blue' at the moment. xx

Mitchy1nge · 20/01/2015 14:11

how are you bright? having an ok day?

OP posts:
brightandbreezyNot · 20/01/2015 14:13

thanks mitchy, fairly ok. Struggling with thoughts at the moment and need to get into exercise mode.(already done 5 mile walk but still need to walk to a session at the gym.) Hope you are ok. Was lunch good?

CaulkheadUpNorth · 20/01/2015 14:13

I was given the choice to be put on the waiting list for nhs psychotherapy, but I already see Lovely Therapist so I said no.

The eating issues are down to family ishoos and the BPD rather than just something in it's self, so he feels it's better I'm treated by...dunno. Freud?

Sorry to hear about the thoughts Snowy. Have you got a plan to power through this afternoon?

Mitchy1nge · 20/01/2015 14:20

(am working my way through lunch, I wouldn't say it is good but it's ok!)

your lovely therapist does sound lovely and possibly much more helpful than the people you might have ended up working with on the NHS - am sure they are just as good, it's only that you have finally clicked with someone and that must be worth a great deal

have not wanted to say that have found the 'support' so far no real help at all, nobody seems to understand me and I think I'd be better off going it alone
