(Love you all really. At least you're not anaesthetists. They really are strange. Couldn't believe it when my best friend from school became one.)

Enpoid · 20/01/2015 10:47

Lovely-sounding breakfasts you're all having. I've had a cappuccino.

Enpoid · 20/01/2015 10:50

16 days is great Mitchy, swags of medals.

Please don't hate me , though.

But doesn't exercise count as purging?

Mitchy1nge · 20/01/2015 10:53

not under the Motivated Definitions Act of 2012, no, it doesn't Hmm

neither are blow jobs 'sex'

you're not going to be able to run away from ME are you! I can hunt you like the bushmen, through dogged persistence until you die of exhaustion - it's my one and only power!

OP posts:
Enpoid · 20/01/2015 11:00

Fair enough. Smile

I'm actually properly impressed at over two weeks with no purging; I know it's very hard (though maybe I don't realise just how hard it is).

Enpoid · 20/01/2015 11:02

Hm. Running away clearly a bad idea.

Hope Caulk's appointment is going okay.

CaulkheadUpNorth · 20/01/2015 11:05

16 days is wonderful! Well done you!

Mitchy1nge · 20/01/2015 11:06

will take the credit although hasn't been THAT hard at the actual time, it's just waking up in the night in a bad state now and then - should probably not say this out loud but it is a good way of losing weight if you don't binge, I rarely objectively binge, (not that am recommending it because we all know the complications that arise can be lethal) but it's a behaviour that I hate anyway so prob don't really deserve the medal

looks like #3 is ready for school!

OP posts:
CaulkheadUpNorth · 20/01/2015 11:11

Have the medal anyway.

I'm still waiting. Eugh.

CaulkheadUpNorth · 20/01/2015 11:17

In a queue to be weighed. This is the hardest and worst bit of it I'm sure.
I'm wondering if I can just run away?

Mentalpsychiatrist · 20/01/2015 11:22

Oi, you lot, quit bashing psychiatrists. Some of us are lovely Wink

Off to my appointment with my psych who I actually respect. In fairness, I must be a nightmare patient.

Well done on the 16 days mitchy.

Mentalpsychiatrist · 20/01/2015 11:24

Anaesthetists become strange from the mind numbing boredom that they endure on a daily basis.

Mitchy1nge · 20/01/2015 11:33

yes that is a true fact mp! some (but not many!) of my favourite people are or have been psychiatrists

sometimes am privy to howlingly funny personal statements of prospective psychiatrists (I don't know their names or identifying info) and marvel afresh at how some medical schools aren't a bit more discerning though!

OP posts:
Mitchy1nge · 20/01/2015 11:36

hope caulk has not run away

OP posts:
Mitchy1nge · 20/01/2015 11:37

(finished breakfast!)

OP posts:
Enpoid · 20/01/2015 11:38

Whereas psychiatrists are self-selected for pre-existing strangeness.

Nothing wrong with psychiatrists. They're just the oboists of the medical world. Wink

Sounds horrible, Caulk, queuing to be weighed. Good to get it over with though.

Enpoid · 20/01/2015 11:45

I don't understand why/how my friend became an anaesthetist. She was always such a people person. Awake people.

Mitchy1nge · 20/01/2015 11:49

or they are not good enough to get a job in a flashier branch of medicine (am not being horrible we have probably all come across these people, it's often not anyone's first choice is it?)

which is a thing that needs to change, so more good doctors are drawn in at a much earlier stage in medical school

OP posts:
Enpoid · 20/01/2015 11:51

Was talking to a retired medical relative who reckoned when he qualified, psychiatry drew many of the most intelligent and talented.

Yes, some are a little below par. Ahem.

Millie2013 · 20/01/2015 11:54

My therapist is a psych and she's fab (when she's not being a cowbag). She's one of those people who obviously really wanted to specialise in psych and it shows
I've met good and bad psychs and good and bad other consultants too
Enpoid, I had an amazing anaesthetist with me when I was giving birth, him and a lovely midwife made it all much easier (even tho all hell broke loose)

Enpoid · 20/01/2015 11:56

Anaesthetics seems to be one of those jobs that just looks dull dull dull but then when the shit hits the fan, you really want a good one.

Enpoid · 20/01/2015 11:58

Of course all stereotypes are bollocks really I've even met interesting accountants.

Millie2013 · 20/01/2015 12:44

Caulk, hope you're ok
