Aripiprazole is non-sedating. So much so that I take it in the morning. I'd have to do a bit of research to be sure of it's safety in diabetics but I think it should be ok.

Mitchy1nge · 18/01/2015 19:07

I don't usually take anything sedating but last time I took quetiapine (300mg I think) I was completely fucked for about 48 hours - I was theoretically awake and doing stuff but I was also technically asleep, yuck. Once upon a time I took 800mg a day and didn't find it sedating in the least but I think 25mg would send me to sleep now. I don't even know why I was on it, it has no antipsychotic action to speak of and it didn't seem to have anti manic powers either.

I'm on it to give me a lift, to help the citalopram out a bit, and to make me sleep after having a few too many zopiclone along with the paracetamol.

Millie2013 · 18/01/2015 19:22

I am drug free at the moment, not sure whether this is good or bad!

Mitchy1nge · 18/01/2015 19:23

have just remembered was on it because lamictal's energising forces were not helpful

am ok on lithium alone almost all the time although it goes up if I do, and if I go down

No booze, no carb diet starts tomorrow. How much rubbish can I eat and drink between now and bedtime?

SnowyMouse · 18/01/2015 19:48

A lot?

CaulkheadUpNorth · 18/01/2015 19:49

You might as well eat all that is in the house so you won't be tempted to have it tomorrow.

Mentalpsychiatrist · 18/01/2015 19:53

Funnily enough Caulk that was kind of my plan. Can't go wild on the booze seeing as it's a school night but I can hit the Christmas chocolate.

SnowyMouse · 18/01/2015 19:56

You have Christmas chocolate left? Grin

CaulkheadUpNorth · 18/01/2015 19:58

Is there a cupboard the booze can go in, somewhere you won't go much, so it can be a treat when you find it? One of my housemates discovered 8 bottles of wine recently that she had out away before Christmas 2013.

CaulkheadUpNorth · 18/01/2015 19:59

We have Christmas chocolate left. But I live with two teachers.

Enpoid · 18/01/2015 20:02

Good plan Grin

When I was lying in bed last night at 4am I wrote a reverse shopping list - all the stuff I over-eat on that I'm going to stop buying. I'm letting myself eat the stuff that's already in, though.

What made you decide on low-carb, Mental?

TBH even if aripiprazole was supposedly safe for diabetics I still wouldn't take it as I don't trust any of the atypicals not to induce metabolic syndrome, and mine's bad enough already Wink

Surprised you found Lamictal so energising Mitch - when I took it, I didn't find it did very much except level me out a bit. It did used to be a fun shape though.

Lot of black ice out there this evening (quick pre-dinner jog).

Millie2013 · 18/01/2015 20:05

I've got DDs Easter choc from last year (I was amazed at its shelf life!)
And Xmas choc, but fancy stuff and I want cadburys
Today's self sabotage involves a plan to quit therapy, because she was non fluffy yesterday and she's making me work hard and she gave me some home truths that were hard to hear

Enpoid · 18/01/2015 20:06

I took all that old wine I found up to my parents' for Christmas. The Rioja was brown and manky, but the other bottles were pronounced drinkable though my mum is renowned for being able to drink anything and my brother can make a fair stab at it too.

CaulkheadUpNorth · 18/01/2015 20:07

Millie - talk to her about it.

Enpoid · 18/01/2015 20:11

You know what you need to do, really, Millie. Smile Flowers No self-sabotage!

Enpoid · 18/01/2015 20:13

I was given about half a dozen different bars of 100% chocolate for Christmas and haven't even finished the first one yet. They're very very fancy and very very small but also very very strong (and I suspect very very expensive).

Mentalpsychiatrist · 18/01/2015 20:14

The booze is in a cupboard already so it can be shut away. Can't hide the wine though, we have about 40 bottles on racks in the dining room.

Low carb has worked for me in the past Enpo and I like it because the weight comes off without being starving all the time.

Enpoid · 18/01/2015 20:15

What kind of therapy is it, Millie?

Enpoid · 18/01/2015 20:16

Fair enough; if it works, go for it Grin

CaulkheadUpNorth · 18/01/2015 20:17

MP - I'm thinking of moving in, is that ok? You have lovely sounding meals and a wine rack. I'm happy to just lie on the sofa moping knitting and working my way through your fridge and alcohol cupboard. That ok?

Mentalpsychiatrist · 18/01/2015 20:18

If you don't mind a cat needing to be attached to you 24 hours a day Caulk you'd be most welcome.

CaulkheadUpNorth · 18/01/2015 20:21

That would be great. "My" cat will testify that I am very good at that role.

Enpoid · 18/01/2015 20:21

Eating tom yum soup. DP's version is hotter than the stuff made with paste from a jar [ouch]
