I once offended a visiting person at work: I asked him his tea pref, he replied "earl grey". "Ok" says I "I drink earl grey too, but I drink it with milk, because I'm a pleb"
"Me too" says very important visiting person
Awkward silence
We ended up being great friends and collaborating on summat. Thank gawd

Enpoid · 17/01/2015 20:49

I have an aunt who drinks a 50/50 blend of Earl Grey and Lapsang Souchong [vomface]

Millie2013 · 17/01/2015 20:49

Not four candles, Caulk?

Millie2013 · 17/01/2015 20:50

I eat candles (well nibble them) too, used to love a good crayon when I was a kid
And don't get me onto preggers cravings

Mentalpsychiatrist · 17/01/2015 20:51

Lapsang souchong is a tea of the gods. I have a lovely tin of it bought from the tea salon in selfridges. If it still exists it's a great tea shop.

CaulkheadUpNorth · 17/01/2015 20:54

My selfridges has it. I love that tea. Grin
Ah Millie that makes me feel better. I've never "met" anyone else who does.

Mentalpsychiatrist · 17/01/2015 20:55

I though candles was a euphemism for something. You ate actual candles?

Enpoid · 17/01/2015 20:56

When you said caravan it freaked me out; I have some Russian caravan tea at the moment.

I ate paper when I was a kid (every book i had had every page corner torn out) and sometimes bath-sponges, but never candles.

CaulkheadUpNorth · 17/01/2015 20:57

No, actual candles. I have pica, and when my iron is low I crave candles and soap and pritstik.

Mentalpsychiatrist · 17/01/2015 20:58

Ah, now I understand.

Enpoid · 17/01/2015 21:01

I look back on my childhood and suspect I had pica, too. They tried to get me to stop eating paper for years, but to no avail.

Fascinating-looking evening of telly coming up on More4 - World's Most Extreme Runways followed by World's Most Extreme Tunnels Hmm

Mentalpsychiatrist · 17/01/2015 21:01

There's nothing but shite on the TV tonight. Bridget bloody Jones yet again. Seriously?

Mentalpsychiatrist · 17/01/2015 21:02

Ha, cross post Enpo.

Enpoid · 17/01/2015 21:02

Be fair, Armageddon's on the other side Grin

Enpoid · 17/01/2015 21:04

DP wants to watch a film from the recordings list, or maybe the DVD pile. It's a toss-up between Biggles and Yojombo from the sound of it. Deep abiding joy.

Mentalpsychiatrist · 17/01/2015 21:06

We might just open another bottle of wine and actually talk to each other.

Enpoid · 17/01/2015 21:07

Biggles it is.

I suspect this may be the worst film ever made (even worse than Manos: Hands Of Fate) and it's only been on two minutes.

Maybe Peter Cushing will improve matters though I doubt it.

CaulkheadUpNorth · 17/01/2015 21:08

Railways AND tunnels. Wow.
Obviously you will all be watching casualty, I don't understand discussion about these other channels! Wink

Enpoid · 17/01/2015 21:08

Mind if I join you? This film looks dire. You know what to do in the event of a hypertensive crisis, yes?

CaulkheadUpNorth · 17/01/2015 21:08

The fiend is making mulled wine and chocolate torte. This is why I am fat.

Enpoid · 17/01/2015 21:09

Ah I used to love Casual+y.

I saw the beginning of last week's - classic lady-balancing-precariously-on-chair setup.

CaulkheadUpNorth · 17/01/2015 21:11

Back in the day, year 8 and 9 time I was so obsessed I would record if then get up early before school to watch it each day. I knew all the cast and kept scrapbooks of bits from the radio times and everything.

That'll out me if nothing else has done!

Enpoid · 17/01/2015 21:12

Biggles has been abandoned. Yojimbo it is (mistyped it last time).

Millie2013 · 17/01/2015 21:13

Caulk, I've never met another candle muncher either, I thought I was a freak!
My pregnancy thing was burnt matches (not the top bit, just the wooden bit). I used to let them burn out, cool a bit and devour them. Bloody lovely
I ate one yesterday and didn't feel it, but gimme a candle and I'll happily gnaw on it

CaulkheadUpNorth · 17/01/2015 21:14

Candles and soap. If I'm anxious, give me some soap and will be well.
