has chosen.

Why no modafinil? Sad

Mentalpsychiatrist · 10/11/2014 20:38

What need have you to stay awake?

EnpoTree · 10/11/2014 20:39

When I get low I sleep 14 hours a day.

Mentalpsychiatrist · 10/11/2014 20:40

You haven't got narcolepsy so I wouldn't be prescribing it. I would consider it dangerous to prescribe it.

Mitchy1nge · 10/11/2014 20:40

none really, just lounge around being fat

can do that more comfortably in bed

is modafinil really any good for depression then?

OP posts:
Mentalpsychiatrist · 10/11/2014 20:41

No, modafinil is no good for depression bottle does it have a licence for depression.

EnpoTree · 10/11/2014 20:41

Ah what a bugger. Doesn't sound like there's much of a chance of that, then.

It's supposed to be a mood-brightener.

Mitchy1nge · 10/11/2014 20:41

Oh thought you were asking ME about staying awake

think have that histrionic pd where everything is about me

Mentalpsychiatrist · 10/11/2014 20:41

Shit, the typos not bottle, nor does it.

EnpoTree · 10/11/2014 20:43

Would quite like to try Dexedrine if that's still prescribed for depression.

EnpoTree · 10/11/2014 20:44

I suspect not.

Mentalpsychiatrist · 10/11/2014 20:45

Dexedrine? You'd be lucky.

Mitchy1nge · 10/11/2014 20:45

Ugh no

dexedrine really?

OP posts:
EnpoTree · 10/11/2014 20:46

Never get anything interesting off psychiatrists these days. I'm sure there was a time when it was all quaaludes and amphetamines. Nothing fun any more.

Mitchy1nge · 10/11/2014 20:46

feel like I have some standards when it comes to the chemicals

a novel sensation

OP posts:
Mentalpsychiatrist · 10/11/2014 20:47

It's all SSRIs and antipsychotics these days. All the fun drugs are long gone.

EnpoTree · 10/11/2014 20:47

I just can't stand the thought of all that depressive lack of energy again.

EnpoTree · 10/11/2014 20:48

Surely Dexedrine is better than lying in bed for three days?

Mentalpsychiatrist · 10/11/2014 20:49

I'm no fun when it comes to prescribing so no Dexedrine from me

Do you think you're heading towards a depression?

Mitchy1nge · 10/11/2014 20:50

just take the antipsychotics that get touted as mood stabilisers - no antidepressant action but you'll be too fat and drowsy to care

OP posts:
EnpoTree · 10/11/2014 20:50

Perhaps it's possible to just refuse to succumb to depression. If the depression is mild enough, I mean.

EnpoTree · 10/11/2014 20:51

Yep, pretty sure I can feel it coming.

EnpoTree · 10/11/2014 20:52

I refuse to do depression again.

Mitchy1nge · 10/11/2014 20:52

you'll sleep and eat more and therefore can be considered to be less depressed

I THINK that's how some of them work

OP posts:
Mentalpsychiatrist · 10/11/2014 20:53

I use antipsychotics as mood stabilisers sometimes buy I believe that lithium is the only true mood stabiliser.

Is there anything you can do to try and ward off the depression? I know you exercise a lot which could help.
