I dunno, think depression can be like a cold, self limiting with a beginning and an end but not easily willed away - it likes to run its course, but you can do a lot to alleviate many of the symptoms?

EnpoTree · 10/11/2014 20:55

Mitch, it all mystifies me.

EnpoTree · 10/11/2014 20:57

Yeah I'm currently desperately trying to regulate sleep, exercise, caffeine, and anything else I can think of to prevent depression. No drugs, no alcohol, etc. etc.

Hope it works.

Mitchy1nge · 10/11/2014 20:57

and me

am opinionated but not too well informed

hope you are not becoming depressed but if you are is good timing while you have a psychiatrist and a care coordinator etc - at least not on a waiting list?

They'll probaby kick me back to the GP now they're not all rubbing their hands in glee that I might be about to go mad.

EnpoTree · 10/11/2014 21:00

Am currently experiencing moderate anxiety and mild depression. Hardly CMHT-worthy.

EnpoTree · 10/11/2014 21:06

Sorry, that was a bit bitter.

EnpoTree · 10/11/2014 21:16

I know so many people (including myself) who have tried to get help for mild/moderate depression/anxiety, and it's rarely forthcoming. So the help I'm getting now, I feel I'm getting almost fraudulently, because I'm only getting it because of their perception of something I didn't feel was a problem.

EnpoTree · 10/11/2014 21:16

Which is all over anyway.

EnpoTree · 10/11/2014 21:19

No takers for guessing the vegetable DP chose to serve with hot filo-pastry-enclosed veal mince pie?

Baby corn.

Raw, cold baby corn. Hmm

Mentalpsychiatrist · 10/11/2014 21:26

Don't think baby cone would have been my first choice.

Am off to bed, I'm absolutely exhausted. Night both of you.

Mitchy1nge · 10/11/2014 21:27

don't stress about whether or not you're a deserving recipient of the community team's time, hopefully you will reach an agreement between you about how far and for how long their involvement is helpful

seems like you have experience of only two settings - extreme over involvement or cold hard indifference

hopefully there is a middle gear too now

OP posts:
EnpoTree · 10/11/2014 21:28

Night Mp! Sleep well.

I didn't eat the baby corn.

EnpoTree · 10/11/2014 21:29

I dunno Mitchy, I've had various levels of involvement but just a bit baffled as to how it's decided who gets what help when and for what.

Mitchy1nge · 10/11/2014 21:30

have refreshing sleep mp

am also in bed, after some gloop (love making own gloops) which was French onion cup-a-soup (ainsley harriot) with tiny bit of boiling water to make a paste

something salty for the vitamin L to land on

OP posts:
EnpoTree · 10/11/2014 21:32

Mmm. Gloop. Sleep well Mitch.

Mitchy1nge · 10/11/2014 21:33

yeah I have no idea how they decide these things especially in such a target driven and increasingly privatised service

used to be such a capitalist but have gone off idea of free market and health care being together

OP posts:
Mitchy1nge · 10/11/2014 21:35

not asleep

chatting shit in bed

enjoying blueberry nicotine thing

and backache

OP posts:
EnpoTree · 10/11/2014 21:37

Ooh, blueberry. Next best thing to bilberry.

EnpoTree · 10/11/2014 21:37

I'm watching a recorded Dave Gorman thing.

EnpoTree · 10/11/2014 21:39

Y'know, this is not a great advert for lithium - everyone I currently know who takes it has just told me they're in bed before 10pm Grin

Mitchy1nge · 10/11/2014 21:48

think is a habit because of blood tests often between 9 and 10 in the morning

but I do enjoy an all nighter now and then with the help of other serotonergens

OP posts:
Mitchy1nge · 10/11/2014 21:49

am sure that was meant to say serotonergics

OP posts:
Mitchy1nge · 10/11/2014 21:52

but is easily up there with lithium as of equal value in stabilising my moods - early to bed, early to rise

I preach the gospel of circadian rhythm something as well as lithium and Personal Responsibility

OP posts:
EnpoTree · 10/11/2014 21:54

Possibly.

I don't have to be awake for anything much, but will probably womble off at about midnight as part of my current consistency-and-refusing-to-become-depressed drive.
