Basically I have to take bloody diazepam three times a day and be visited by HTT every day and even then the nurse reckons it's 50/50 if I'll need to go into hospital or not. This has gone too far. I'm absobloodylutely sodding fine and visited the drop-in as I was worried I was going to become not-fine and wanted to know how to stop DP worrying unnecessarily after having spoken to CMHT as I was referred from GP as I wanted to avoid becoming depressed and how to maintain my current good humour and general sparkling and effervescent nature. The lesson apparently being that being responsible and proactive with your mental health gets you accused of poor insight and told to take drugs on pain of hospital admission.

She's really fucking scared me. I will not go into hospital. So to avoid it I have to swallow pills that make me slow and stupid and sleepy even though I am totally happy with the way I am now and it's everyone else who doesn't like it. Maybe its everyone else who needs bloody medicating.

I hate this so much. I know its a bad idea to get involved in MH services. So why do I ever go back?

Ye gods and little fishes, not Alan Carr. At least his voice is less annoying than Joe Pasquale's.

She likes him, her gets on my last nerve.

EnpoTree · 31/10/2014 22:33

Oh, Mavis has a cat! He's got a sore paw at the moment and can't go out so is going stir-crazy. He likes me, but I'm allergic to him. Proper tabby mog. Grin I don't know where he is while Mavis is staying elsewhere because of our argument.

What kind of cat do you have?

OP posts:
EnpoTree · 31/10/2014 22:34

You poor thing.

The worst thing my DP watches is F1.

OP posts:
Mentalpsychiatrist · 31/10/2014 22:35

I have a small, fat, black and white moggy. I've tried every diet going and she's still tubby.

EnpoTree · 31/10/2014 22:35

She's playing away.

OP posts:
EnpoTree · 31/10/2014 22:37

At least with only one animal it's slightly easier. I had a tubby rat, and if you put less food in the cage, she would stay the same and the other rats would get mysteriously skinnier.

OP posts:
Mentalpsychiatrist · 31/10/2014 22:38

She's an indoor cat. I think I might be a 'feeder'.

EnpoTree · 31/10/2014 22:41

Ah.

Perhaps a cat gym? Grin

OP posts:
Mentalpsychiatrist · 31/10/2014 22:44

Gladys isn't one for physical exertion but she might quite like a cat gym.

EnpoTree · 31/10/2014 22:45

To sleep on.

OP posts:
Mentalpsychiatrist · 31/10/2014 22:45

More than likely.

EnpoTree · 31/10/2014 22:49

I once bought a large and very expensive rat exercise wheel. One with special bearings to make the operation smooth and quiet, and nowhere for tails and feet to get trapped, and large enoigj to avoid spinal and tail problems.

Apparently it was supremely comfortable.

OP posts:
Mentalpsychiatrist · 31/10/2014 22:50

I love rats but I'm not allowed have one.

EnpoTree · 31/10/2014 22:51

Probably not a good idea with a cat in the house.

Also you're better off getting a couple at least, as they're very social (and have a societal structure similar to that of humans but with slightly more incest)

Just spent a large whack of time reading this thread - not sure I have anything useful to contribute but I just thought I'd say hello and I hope you're feeling more on an even keel?

And to be really awful and tell you about hypergraphia

And to agree that Hershey's is an abomination that shouldn't come under the heading of "chocolate"; and dark Bounty is great, as was the dark Mars Bar but the utter summit of lushness was the dark Mars Bar icecream. The milk chocolate one was awful, way too sweet and cloying, but the dark one was heaven in an icy bar.

And to agree that "Mavis" needs outside help too.
(were you kidding about the weed? cos if not, you know that doesn't help, right?)

EnpoTree · 31/10/2014 22:52

Who doesn't allow it anyway? Your DP isn't abusive is she? Or did you just mean in a jokey way? If so I'm sorry for implying that

OP posts:
Mentalpsychiatrist · 31/10/2014 22:54

No she's not abusive she just has a thing about rodents.

EnpoTree · 31/10/2014 22:58

Hi Thumb! I'm so sorry to have wasted your time on my meaningless wimblings. I don't think just writing a lot counts as hypergraphia does it? I've stopped writing over the last few hours or so as I've been typing on here anyway Grin but I think temporal lobe epilepsy is probably fairly unlikely… I'm hyperlexic anyway (learnt to read concurrently with learning to talk) so probably not normal in that respect anyway.

Kidding about the weed, of course, of course! Nothing illegal here, nosiree Grin

Dark Mars Icecream sounds like possibly the best thing ever to have existed.

On a beautiful and completely unbarnacled keel now thankyou.

OP posts:
EnpoTree · 31/10/2014 22:59

Ah.

Could you pass one off as a small lagomorph?

OP posts:
Mentalpsychiatrist · 31/10/2014 23:01

Apparently it's something to do with their tails. No, I don't understand either.

EnpoTree · 31/10/2014 23:03

Out of interest Thumb could you actually read that as the HTT claimed they couldn't read the crisis plan I wrote for them (partly because they didn't provide enough paper and I had to write on the backs and down the sides with symbols to show where to flick to)

OP posts:
EnpoTree · 31/10/2014 23:05

No rats for you then Sad

OP posts:
Thumbscrewswitch · 31/10/2014 23:05

No, I don't suppose you have temporal lobe epilepsy for a second but it does also link with hypomania and so on. :)

I can read about 90% of your sample, btw, but then it's one of my skills. My mum used to, in the dim and distant past, type up student theses, and I was always the one called upon to decipher their abysmal handwriting. It was rare that I was completely defeated - usually it would be a technical term that I had never heard/seen before.

I wanted an exercise ball for my guineapigs but they're very expensive, and now they live outdoors they don't really need one so much.

Thumbscrewswitch · 31/10/2014 23:06

But I couldn't read all of it or make complete sense of it because the edges were missing.

mentalpsych - is your cat a female Garfield?
