Oh Lem, just sending some hand holding and thoughts. Can we do anything to help?

MySpideySenseTickles · 01/11/2014 16:04

Hope you're ok lem xx

Ds hasn't been sick today but he's not eaten either, he managed one cup of banana mooshake (literally banana in the blender with milk) and he's drunk some juice. He's really warm too. I've gotten nothing done because he's stu to me like Velcro, he's laid on the sofa but gets really upset if I try to go anywhere.

That sounds wearing spidey, I hope he feels better soon.

SnowyMouse · 01/11/2014 16:55

Poor DS spidey, I hope he feels better soon.

MySpideySenseTickles · 01/11/2014 17:35

He's just sat up and declared he wants hotdog sausages and mashed potatoes.
I'm just cooking them. (Frozen mash it's like pellets you just bung in a pan)
Mil has really annoyed me, one of her cats has been acting strangely recently and the vet has checked everything and says it must be something in her brain, basically the cat is mentally Ill.
Mil phoned me to say she's wondering if it would be kinder to put her to sleep as its not fair to make her live like that when she's unhappy (shes not unhappy, she just has about a 10 min memory) and because mil says its a burden for her and the other cats and it would be simpler to let her go.
Does that apply to me? Everyone would be better off without me?
If she could would she "put me out of my misery?"

OP posts:
EnpoTree · 01/11/2014 17:49

Sounds good about the hotdogs - I know when I was a kid and had had an upset tummy, my mum always knew I was on the mend when I asked for meat Smile

I'm sorry to hear about your MIL's cat. I hope your MIL doesn't mean anything about you by what she said about the cat. Could it be that there's something degenerative wrong with the cat's brain and the vet said that the cat would begin to suffer?

MySpideySenseTickles · 01/11/2014 18:00

No (I was there) basically he said the cats gone senile, she's not bothered by it because basically she can't remember anything else, she's just happy to lay on the windowsill all day and demand to be fed every 15min because she's forgotten that she ate. She is 18 though.

OP posts:
EnpoTree · 01/11/2014 18:20

Has your MIL perhaps known someone who has suffered from dementia?

No matter the reasons behind it I can see why what she's said has upset you. It's difficult when it feels like people are being thoughtless when they say things. Flowers

MySpideySenseTickles · 01/11/2014 18:30

Her old cat got to 22 and he was way more senile than this cat for at least 10 years, he used to poo behind the front door if we went out so when we opened the door it'd push the poo with it and make a "shit rainbow" he regularly forgot which house he lived at and would cry outside the neighbours door till they brought him home but mil loved him and cared for him until he started walking into things and it turned out he'd gone blind.
Maybe she doesn't want to go through that again?

EnpoTree · 01/11/2014 18:32

Oh that sounds awful Sad I think you might be right and she wants to spare the cat and your family the worse stages of dementia - and maybe remember her happy, as she is now.

Collardove · 01/11/2014 20:03

Hi everyone, well after 3 manic days of anxiety and panic attacks I am feeling so-so now this evening.

I had to take 2 days off sick from my new job already in the 2nd week :( told them it was upset stomach, as it has been 'going round' at work this week anyway.

DH called out the Gp as he was so worried at one point. A couple of diazepams later slight calmness was restored.

I have not read through the last couple of pages of the thread, but will do so after I have had a bit of dinner..

Hope you are all ok :) x

Pulledapart · 01/11/2014 20:31

((( spidey ))) ((( collar )))

I've given little one dinner & a shower so she is "shiny clean" and ready for bed Grin

We've got unexpected guests coming round though so not sure if DD will sleep & all I want to do is have a diazepam and go to bed with her Sad time to put a fake smile on my face!

Hope everyone has a good evening xxx

Victrix · 02/11/2014 00:52

I'm trying to get to sleep but the cat is lying along the back of my pillow doing whistling cat snores in my ear Confused

MySpideySenseTickles · 02/11/2014 07:51

Ds has been awake and whinging all night, the longest he's slept was about half an hour. He decided at 2am that it was morning already.
I've sent him down to Dh for an hour, he's had a full nights sleep. (He sleeps on the sofa so when I have nightmares and bad nights or ds wakes up it doesn't disturb him)
Not that I could do with someone there at night when I'm frightened or ds is keeping me up all night...
Problem is, I've sent him down but now can't sleep.
But at least it's quiet, I can't listen to whining "muuuuum" constantly
But now I feel awful because I should be really sympathetic he's 3 and he's ill I'm just too tired and my
Nerves are frayed.

Pulledapart · 02/11/2014 16:37

victrix Grin

Well I've spent the whole day internet shopping and ordered loads of things for DD. She's been looking like a poor Beggar for far too long so it was time we bought her some clothes Hmm I've also decided to treat her to toys also so have bought her this toy kitchen & Disney doll. I feel like a good mummy now Grin

I hope you got some sleep, spidey Sad

Wow, lucky dd, pulled Smile

I'm working on the doll.

Mentalpsychiatrist · 02/11/2014 17:24

My hangover has lifted, just.

Collardove · 02/11/2014 18:16

Pulled - DD is a lucky girl indeed! I really miss my dd not being a little girl (17 now) I used to love buying for her, I do miss it! The last few years it's money or vouchers now :( takes the fun out of birthdays and Christmas...

Spidey - hope you got some uninterrupted sleep!

Victrix - eek and double eek!! Moustaches are so very very wrong....

Today's has been a better day for me after a nightmare 5 days that sent me spiralling downwards.

Have to go back into work tomorrow so best put a face on and get through it.

Has anyone had hypnotherapy? Eft/tft? DH has been talking to me about it today, and is wondering if it is something to think about?

Hope everyone else has had a nice Sunday :)

MySpideySenseTickles · 02/11/2014 18:18

Nope, not slept yet, ds is being really clingy and keeps holding his tummy crying that it hurts, off to the drs tomorrow and hopefully they can fix him.
He's definately not going to be at school tomorrow.
I'm praying he sleeps tonight because I don't cope well on no sleep ive been really down today and even had a glitch where I wanted to sh, I didnt but the feeling that I really wanted to was distressing I'm just pissed off that Dh seems to think he's tired too because he was woken up at 2am when ds went to the toilet and then screamed the house down because he thought it was time to get up, I say woken up, it's not as if he came up to help or anything, just sent me a text to ask if he was ok.
Then as soon as I got downstairs after my paltry lie in he went out, leaving orders for me to wash the pots and sort the washing while he was out, then at 4:50 he popped out for "10 minutes" and he's still not home so ive had to produce tea while carrying a screaming three year old around, which said three year old refused to eat.
Well fuck him he's going to have to cook his own tea because I'm not doing it.

Totally exhausted today after a busy two days and crap sleep last night.

Japanese takeaway in front of the US grand prix, then a bath and an early night.

Thinking of you all Smile

MySpideySenseTickles · 02/11/2014 20:14

Ah well shit.
Dh is on the phone to NHS direct, ds seems to have meningitis type symptoms. I'm Trying to keep a lid on the panic because it won't help anyone.
We're probably overreacting, I have a propensity to panic and Dh is clueless about kids and just carries along with me.
Ds is pretty poorly though but they said it'd be ok to put him in bed but someone has to stay with him and monitor him. So I shall be in his bedroom for quite a while. They've gone to discuss with the Dr what to do.

OP posts:
EnpoTree · 02/11/2014 20:35

Fingers crossed for you.

SnowyMouse · 02/11/2014 20:36

((( spidey and DS ))) hope it's nothing serious.
