Background in brief - history of abuse and lengthy depression, self harm, lots of therapy in teens inc psych ward stay. Now suffering from CFS (also known as ME) and having CBT as part of the treatment.

So, we were talking about low self esteem, negative inner voice etc, and she suggested doing this to gradually build up evidence against these thoughts. I've done similar briefly in the past but having done a lot of psychological 'inner work' this year I feel ready to make it stick and I thought doing a thread on it would make me more likely to bother!

I'm off to watch telly with DH in a mo (Big Bang Theory 6 arrived yesterday :o) so won't be back til tomorrow but if anyone wants to do this with me then jump in! Could be stuff you've achieved, nice things that have happened etc.

Mine are:

  • Had my consultation over the phone for the first time - was worried it'd feel weird but I stuck with it and found it really helpful.

  • Contacted a friend to arrange a meet up while he's visiting home (I hardly ever initiate anything like that)

  • Wrote in my treatment journal the same day as my session, instead of leaving it for weeks!

:)

Fuzz I loved etre et avoir!
Going to bed more thrilling now autumn is In the air: I want cuddles and I love listening to the wind howl.
Dd had an epic nap so I got more work than anticipated done.
PRe bed play time and bath were full of smiles not tears tonight.
Three positive things and it was chucking down with rain all day!

Great idea. I'm doing CBT at the moment too. And I recognise some names here from other threads.

Okay, ignoring all the not-so-good things today, my positives are:

Managed the school run.

Met my friend and had a lovely catch up.

Did a couple of household chores that needed doing.

Yay! - go me!!!

Three things for the last day:

1 - I motivated myself to go to the gym. It was shut, but still...

2 - I have got on with my knitting.

3 - Two days on the trot, I have got up before 8.30am.

Yesterday .
I avoided treading on the lavish spread of dog poo on the pavement on school run .
I did all the ironing and put it away .
Found out that all the extra work ds1has done with me after school has made a difference rather than being 3 years behind is now reading at his age!

It's so lovely reading everyone's positive events and achievements! Well done to all :)

Mine are:

  • managed to talk to my friend at work about the above mentioned disappointing BFN, it was nice to say all of it out loud and have a hug

  • asked DH to meet me from work and we had milkshakes before getting the bus home in time for DH to pick up the DCs

  • we decided to go tv-free mon-thurs once term started, and DD has whined about it, but didn't today - we all played a board game together after dinner, it was perfect and exactly what I wanted our evening to be like :)

Hi all. Fuzz pig I'm massively impressed by no TV!

I 'won' a little thing for dd's birthday on eBay.

My mum loved the photos I sent her of the kids.

We booked our holiday for next year.

Took stairs up at work - 5th floor
Got.a complimented on my hair style - 2nd time this week
Colleagues at work said they would help me later when I was looking confused during training for some software.

Doesn't sound like much but am just regaining my faith in how lovely people can be.

I have had a really lovely day today :)

  • took a quick peep at a charity table sale before my OT appt at St Barts - there was virtually nothing there but I found a perfect stocking filler for my DS - a Thunderbirds mug :o so happy to find it I even phoned DH Blush

  • had a really fruitful appt with my OT, talking about the next 10 weeks which are scarily hectic. I feel quite positive and also was reminded how far I have come since this time last year (when DH had major surgery) :)

  • met mum after the appt and she showed me some of her old haunts, we also saw some awesome views from the new mall by St Pauls and a restaurant in the Shard. Feel totally spoiled I may have also visited Hotel Chocolat :o

BTW thanks for the comments about the TV thing. I have been umming and ahhing about it for a while but finally agreed that the new term was a good time to make the change. It isn't TV exactly but DVDs, they are our major weakness and there was usually something on all evening and lots at weekends too. It is amazing how quickly they have adapted to not having it mon-thurs - I expected a lot more complaints. Seem to be spending a lot more time scrabbling around for board game pieces though :o

Empross and SDTG- your third could be "came to post on this thread despite not having a third thing" :o

mine are:

  • managed both school runs with a bit of jigging around - find it pretty hard physically so always fills me with dread!

  • talked to my friend at work and suggested a future lunch date (never seen her outside work before so a big deal for me to take the step of asking) :)

  • finally got around to retyping all my old poems so I can print them out (a friend asked if she could read them... eeeeek!)

(seriously though... if you can't think of a third, if it's been a rough day - I think just 'I got through the day' can be pretty darn positive! :))

  • Feeling calm, even though it's my evil pre-menstrual time of the month
