@Bubbles44
@Smartmove
@Everythingaches

This is the new thread to discuss us using fasting to get to our goal weight. Believe it or not but this is the third thread with the first from around 18 months ago!

No I am not at goal yet. I dare not look at what I weighed then as there is a good chance I'm about the same weight now having recently put back on!

Anyway. Now is the time to keep going. To allow for a bit on over Christmas and get a head start for the New Year. 2025 I WILL get to goal!

Anyone else is wearing to join.

My starting weight was probably 12:9 at heaviest. I'm just over 11 stone now and my goal is around 10:3.

Let's go!

Sounds a good plan, a few treats and reset for Sunday! Enjoy a more relaxed day tomorrow, you've been on such a good run a day off will do you good to re focus.

I've had a good day today. Friday night can always be risky but got through it. Finding it ok at the moment but dreading all the chocolate lying around the house next week. Feels like I've only just recovered from Christmas!

hollyblueivy · 12/04/2025 08:04

10:12:2 today so not too bad. Tomorrow won’t be good but I feel that I do need today to indulge a little. Just hope I manage to draw the line quickly on Sunday.

Those 2 glasses of fizz disrupted my sleep last night and I now remember why often I won’t bother with just one or two at home, it’s not worth it.

Have a good day.

9.11 this morning. Mixed day. Mainly good but this evening got hungry and had a hot cross bun and some biscuits and a slice of toast so quite a bit over. I think if that's as bad as it gets this weekend it will be fine!
Will weigh Monday next. Busy day tomorrow so should be a long fast and lots of steps.

Had a go at the gym today and have a proper induction later in the week so hoping that will help keep me on track!

Hope your relax day has been nice @hollyblueivy and you've had a few delicious treats. So hard to get the balance right.

Bubbles44 · 13/04/2025 18:15

Good day today.

Will weigh tomorrow see what gain I'll get from yesterday's treats!

Did you manage to get back on it today @hollyblueivy?

Hope you're having a great holiday @Smartmove

Bubbles44 · 14/04/2025 07:00

9.12 today. Run done. Should be a good day. Fast until about 3ish.

hollyblueivy · 14/04/2025 07:21

You’re holding steady around the 9:11/9:12 mark, that’s fab even with some treats too.

Ok the weekend is done, managed to enjoy a little bit of everything and have a good time. Ready to get back on it today.

10:13 today. I’d like to be around 10:11:5 by about mid week.

I’ll be fasting in the morning with black coffee no sugar.
Light lunch
Light dinner

avoiding carbs as much as possible.

let’s go!

Bubbles44 · 14/04/2025 10:07

That's great still being in the 10's after a
relaxed weekend. You'll drop that pound in in no time I'm sure.

This morning is hard is home with the kids. Going out soon so will fast until home. Need to stay on track this week as weekend and next week won't be the best.

Bubbles44 · 15/04/2025 07:54

9.11 run done. Absolutely starving but in work today so hope I can get through until 6pm!!!

hollyblueivy · 15/04/2025 07:57

9:11 is fab - you must feel really good at the moment? Gives you a bit of wiggle room next week too. Well done on your run, how do you manage to go all the way through to 6pm with no food - do you do that most days with just one meal?

No exercise for me yesterday and I’d say I was slacking a bit last week too. I’ll go to the gym today and put in a good session of both strength and cardio. Will need the energy for that so will have a high protein lunch, probably omelette.

10:11:9 today - pleased with that and hoping for another half a pound off tomorrow or Thursday. Then I will maintain for a week or two before trying to push on. That’s the aim anyway!

Bubbles44 · 15/04/2025 08:20

Well done that's great to be straight back down! Have a good day!

I should be ok when I get to work as I'll have my coffee and settle into it. Some days are harder but mainly ok. I do feel positive at the moment. Mainly because I feel in a better place with food choices. Not binging on chocolate when stressed etc which has been my biggest issue over the last few months so working really hard on that too. Easter will definitely test me!!

Bubbles44 · 15/04/2025 08:21

@hollyblueivy do you do the classes or gym equipment when you work out?

Smartmove · 15/04/2025 11:20

Am back !
will catch up tmrw as super tired
needlesd to say my jeans r tight and I’ve def done major damage! But had the best time :)

Smartmove · 15/04/2025 15:11

Bubbles44 · 15/04/2025 19:28

Hope you had the best holiday @Smartmove seems like it's flown by. Hope it didn't whilst you were there! A few days and you'll be feeling lots better I'm sure.
I think it's easier getting back into it in these months rather than January so hopefully after the first couple of days it won't be too hard! You might even get a pleasant surprise on the scale!

Smartmove · 16/04/2025 10:43

Hi girls!!!

im so hungry today!!!! The plane food is the worst and so bad processed white bread heavy. I feel horrible!!!!!

but back to it. Will weigh tmrw am expecting a shock!

so wins on holiday
gym 3 times. Never gymmed on holiday before
fairly sensible at brekfast buffet . But I still had many more calories than I would at home. Often had yoghurt and fruit. But had occasional day with crossiants and pancakes!
lunch - went for salads but they were quinoa or heave on salad dressings

looses
half a bottle of wine drunk every night for 10 nights :/ oops. I’m going teetotal for a month now with DH. We usually drink once a fortnight or socially never more than once a week so it’s a lot for us!

3 course meals every night - a few curry’s / some Thai / so was calorific but so so tasty I couldn’t refuse!

on balance I don’t think I did that well tbh!

Smartmove · 16/04/2025 12:11

Eaten today

Greek yog with flax seed raspberries and mango

strawberries and almond butter

avacado and poached eggs and olives

starving!!!!!! Plan for home made 3 bean chilli tonight. Should be 1400 cals which is prob 1000 less than holiday! Weigh tmrw expecting a 7 pound gain :/

hollyblueivy · 16/04/2025 14:39

@Bubbles44I mostly do the gym. More so to suit the times that I can get there rather than having to stick to a class timetable. I do enjoy a circuits class though. I tend to just go for a full body gym approach. Warm up on the tower for 5 minutes and have a little stretch then a mix of weights like leg press, chest press, lay pull down and any others that I fancy or are available to use. Sometimes I’ll then be done or other times I may do 20 minutes on the runner at the end. I wish I had a more structured regime but I always just go by how I’m feeling on that day.

I rarely work my core and I did a bit the other day. Ended up aching for about a week. I should probably build that into my workouts too.

how have you been getting on?

OP posts:
hollyblueivy · 16/04/2025 14:42

Welcome back to the daily grind @Smartmove sounds like you had a wonderful holiday. Good mix of good choices and indulgence, just what you need on holiday.

Well done for getting straight back into the calorie counting! I bet you’ll feel the hunger over the next few days, have a few extra teas or big glasses of squash to try and help.

Im sure the bulk of it will come off quickly and if you’re able to do your alcohol free month that will help loads too!

keep us updated.

10:11:9 yesterday and today. I’m just maintaining at the moment as don’t want the pressure of having to lose over Easter. Will go easy as much as I can and get back to trying to lose soon.

@Smartmove hope you get through the day ok. Keep busy, move and try and distract yourself. Hard with a mountain of washing and holiday blues to contend with! Sounds like a fab break. Well done on your work out and being mindful! Hope you get back into it ok.

Good here. 9.11 again today. Off work now for a bit so need to stick to plan, lots of exercise and long fasts when I can!

Smartmove · 16/04/2025 16:32

@Bubbles44 is this ur target now?

so on holiday i felt good in my summer dresses but still very concious in my swimwear and the pics confirm i have huge thighs! Luckily they not massively bumpy and cellulliety but they r big. Anyways I’ve decided that being 9.7 is prob a good goal as allows me to stay under ten easily. So once this holiday bloat is gone in 2 weeks (I hope!) then I have another 4 pounds to loose. Aiming to achieve that by end of June? 2 pound a month . Really sounds easy doesn’t it!!!

Smartmove · 16/04/2025 16:39

Holiday time diff and jet lag has made me eat dinner now!!! Fasting begins…tmrw the excercise restarts!

1600 cals eaten . Was just too hungry. It’s my maintence cals hopefully tmrw can drop it’

Bubbles44 · 16/04/2025 17:39

That's a fab first day back well done .Hope the hunger isn't too bad. Sounds a good goal. I think I'm probably quite similar to your goals. Definitely happy where I am now. But would like to be comfortably at 9.9 as I was that on holiday last year and actually felt ok in bikini! My first big challenge is this next week. Easter and a few nights away!

@hollyblueivy I think my gym workouts will be similar to yours. I've got a one hour induction tomorrow, so I'll get him to show me all the scary machines. I wish I could commit to classes but times don't fit in with life. Aiming to continue running in mornings and then gym at least 3 days a week. Hopefully more but will be hard to fit in.

Good day! Last cup of tea and close for the day!

Smartmove · 17/04/2025 07:00

10.5 :/ so a 7 pound gain!!! Which is usually what happens after a good holiday and Xmas to me
suspect I’ll be down to 10 very quickly and then the next 2 pounds will take some time

going to weigh again on Sunday to just check it’s coming off!

plan today 1300 cals
yog and fruit
chilli from yest
salmon and veg
limit the eating inbetween if I must just fruit

gonna do a long workout 🏋️‍♀️

Bubbles44 · 17/04/2025 07:30

That's not bad at all @Smartmove like you say most of it will be off in no time. I'm sure I go up to that after a bad weekend! Sounds like a good plan!

9.10 this morning! No run today as needed sleep but will go for a long walk and have the gym thing later.

Yesterday I had a bit of the kids Easter egg. Wasn't even nice. Sooo sweet and actually hurt my teeth! Not sure if they've changed them that much or my taste has changed! Hoping it's going to stop me having any crazy moments over the next week.
