@Bubbles44
@Smartmove
@Everythingaches

This is the new thread to discuss us using fasting to get to our goal weight. Believe it or not but this is the third thread with the first from around 18 months ago!

No I am not at goal yet. I dare not look at what I weighed then as there is a good chance I'm about the same weight now having recently put back on!

Anyway. Now is the time to keep going. To allow for a bit on over Christmas and get a head start for the New Year. 2025 I WILL get to goal!

Anyone else is wearing to join.

My starting weight was probably 12:9 at heaviest. I'm just over 11 stone now and my goal is around 10:3.

Let's go!

I had a takeaway last night but apart from that, it’s been a good weekend so far. No alcohol. Decent food.
Just need to get through this afternoon but thankfully shouldn’t been able to do too much damage in that time.

It’s helped that I’ve not had any plans at all this weekend. Still had walks but not much apart from that. Mildly boring at times but been nice to rest too.

Well done @hollyblueivy sounds like a great weekend. How has this afternoon panned out? When will you weigh next?

So after my Friday night chocolate i woke up really hungry yesterday and then kind of had a free food day eating what I want. Felt pretty rubbish. Hate the way carbs and sugar make me feel. Anyways straight back on it today. Longer run and strict on food. Not sure if to weigh tomorrow or wait for bloat to go down Tuesday.

Hope you're having a fab time @Smartmove

hollyblueivy · 06/04/2025 21:31

I’m not ready to stop daily weighing yet. It’s like I’m scared I’ll edge back into the 11’s without realising. I didn’t weigh today due to takeaway last night but I’ll weigh tomorrow.

The afternoon was fine, fruit for snacks and light dinner. No alcohol.

Maybe if I try to have a weekend like this even just once a month, to remind me I can do it and haven’t got to go nuts just because it’s the weekend.

well done on your run, I haven’t run in a while, should try to do a few miles this week.

Bubbles44 · 07/04/2025 07:43

Hope weigh in goes well @hollyblueivy sounds really positive weekend. Great going into a Monday knowing you haven't over indulged.

I'm still feeling the remorse from Saturday. Hoping a really good day yesterday and today will help. Will weigh tomorrow. I am just aiming for 9.11 this Friday. We'll see what happens.

Run done, fast until 4!

hollyblueivy · 07/04/2025 08:16

Don’t carry the guilt any longer. Draw a line and move on from it now. Its done. Easier said than done as I felt the same about my takeaway on Saturday.

10:11:7 today. Super pleased with that.

just need to not self sabotage now!

Hi guys!!!

wow @hollyblueivy and @Bubbles44 ur both doing fab! Well done on getting so low! U know u can do it :)

well after a 10 hour flight of aeroplane food and jet lag I’m so bloated! I’ve been having 2 drinks only which is great, and at brekkie sticking to fruit yoghurt and nuts as I love all the tropical fruit (but the portion I take is prob 3 times the home one!!!) . Dinner is where I’ve let it go - all the courses !!!! Today I’m having an alcohol free day, fruit for pudding and gonna try gym in a few hours kids allowing!!! Def will come back half a stone heavier but will just have to deal with it. I’m def not enjoying all the food and showing restrains but still very satisfied but it’s obv more than I would have at home. But I’m on holiday :)

keep going girls I’ll have to do some major catching up!!

hollyblueivy · 07/04/2025 11:41

Wow that is a long flight @Smartmove - Plenty of water and the bloat will reduce.

Sounds like you’re following the plan that you set for yourself before going away. You knew that you’d eat and drink a bit more than at home and can allow for a bit of a gain to enjoy your holiday.

A couple of weeks in a deficit when back and you’ll be back to normal.

Enjoy your workout if you get there and have a lovely time!!

Smartmove · 07/04/2025 14:02

Smartmove · 07/04/2025 14:12

Skip pudding that is!

Bubbles44 · 07/04/2025 16:32

Well done @hollyblueivy that's so great, must feel fab for a Monday. And a take away too. Perfect balance. Hope it's been a good day?

Ah your holiday sounds fab @Smartmove rose on the beach is the perfect Monday. Well done for checking in and working out. But do enjoy every second!

hollyblueivy · 07/04/2025 18:28

Yes the day has been good @Bubbles44How has yours been?

@SmartmoveRose on the beach, wow, you win Monday!

Bubbles44 · 07/04/2025 19:30

Great @hollyblueivy you're on a great run
of great days.

Good day here too. Managed 30K steps today and healthy food. Will weigh tomorrow I think, see what the damage is from the weekend!

Bubbles44 · 08/04/2025 07:24

9.13 today, that's after 2 really good days. Dread to think what i would have been Sunday. Fast until 6!

hollyblueivy · 08/04/2025 07:43

That’s a good weigh and you’re not in the 10’s, also shows how good you are at switching back into healthy mode. 30k steps is loads! I probably average 8k per day.

10:12:3 today. Slightly up on yesterday. Felt a bit disappointed but I did have bread yesterday which I haven’t had for a while so could be that. Will eat light today.

OP posts:
Bubbles44 · 08/04/2025 19:04

Yes at least in the 9's but frustrating spending the week chasing last week's weight knowing you can't put a foot wrong!
Good day, healthy food, long fast. Last cup of tea then I'll close.

Have you had a good day @hollyblueivy frustrating going up after being so good but I guess natural fluctuations and only a tiny bit!

hollyblueivy · 08/04/2025 19:12

Another good day here. That’s a fair few days in a row now. Hopefully I’ll be somewhere around 10:11 by Friday.

OP posts:
hollyblueivy · 09/04/2025 07:44

Back to 10:11:7 today. Need to keep the focus to squeeze off that half a pound by Friday. Will try to keep the momentum going and go for another pound next week to get to 10:10 and then settle there for a few weeks. Like you say, you can’t put a foot wrong and I know I’ll need to take the foot off the gas come next week.

May not get a chance to exercise today so could be a rest day.

have a good one

OP posts:
Bubbles44 · 09/04/2025 10:35

That's great @hollyblueivy well done on such a good streak!!

9.13 again today. Same as last week. Would love 9.11!again on Friday but will be happy with 9.12. Run done. Healthy food planned. Easter making me nervous but one day at a time!

Smartmove · 09/04/2025 19:32

I can’t even write out everything I’ve eaten today’ I’m going to have to spend weeks reducing my weight when I’m back. Good lord!!!!!!! Am fairly sensible all day and then dinner comes and it’s 3 courses of delicious and very filing food - plus a cocktail.
gonna try gym tmrw

Bubbles44 · 10/04/2025 07:10

Enjoy @Smartmove it's holidays, you'll soon be back in the zone. As long as you can switch back into routine I'm sure any gain will be off in a couple of weeks! Well done for working out. That always feels a win on holiday!

9.12 here today. Happy with that. Really planning for a good weekend. Think I'm joining the gym Saturday which I'm excited about!

Hope you had a good day yesterday @hollyblueivy and you get a drop today!

hollyblueivy · 11/04/2025 07:42

@Bubbles44 Well done for getting 9:12 and planning for a good weekend will help keep the momentum going. Look forward to hearing about how you’re getting on at the gym. Not sure how experienced you are but let them show you the different areas and machines even if you think you won’t use them as it will then feel less daunting if you decide you want to.

@SmartmoveHope you’re having a great time, it’s hard to allow yourself to enjoy the indulgences guilt free when we’re so used to watching everything we consume.

I was 10:11:2 yesterday but jumped back up to 10:11:7 today - I had bread again yesterday so that’s probably why. It’s the devil! I think that’s still about a pound off from last week though so take that.

I have a bit going on this weekend and next so think I’ll try to settle around this weight and not put on (too much) over Easter etc. I may try to manage it by eating light in the days I can. Like a Monday Tuesday and Wednesday to try to balance things out. Will see how it glows.

OP posts:
hollyblueivy · 11/04/2025 07:46

goes 🤣

OP posts:
Bubbles44 · 11/04/2025 11:12

Sounds like another good week. Well done for being consistent. I know the next couple of weeks are making me nervous.

9.11 today. Really happy with that. Need a good weekend. Should be ok next week but it's Easter weekend and the following week that will get me! But we are self catering when away so hopefully it won't be too bad. Staying under 10 is the goal!

Thanks for advice regarding gym! Really want to get into the weights as I'll still run for my cardio! But like you say machines can look scary so will definitely get a demo on them all!

hollyblueivy · 11/04/2025 18:57

Made a smoothie mid morning and had mackerel on toast for lunch. Bread again. Now I have just poured a glass of rose Prosecco. I should be enjoying it but I feel so guilty and like I’ll regret it when I see the scales go up. I should be allowed a treat on a weekend.

How to get the balance and enjoy a treat guilt free?!

OP posts:
hollyblueivy · 11/04/2025 21:09

Another glass of fizz. Quite a big dinner. Bar of chocolate.

Im going to take tomorrow as a planned day off plan, getting straight back on it on Sunday. Hopefully feel like I have control of this blip and can make it last just a day and a bit.
