@Bubbles44
@Smartmove
@Everythingaches

This is the new thread to discuss us using fasting to get to our goal weight. Believe it or not but this is the third thread with the first from around 18 months ago!

No I am not at goal yet. I dare not look at what I weighed then as there is a good chance I'm about the same weight now having recently put back on!

Anyway. Now is the time to keep going. To allow for a bit on over Christmas and get a head start for the New Year. 2025 I WILL get to goal!

Anyone else is wearing to join.

My starting weight was probably 12:9 at heaviest. I'm just over 11 stone now and my goal is around 10:3.

Let's go!

hollyblueivy · 24/03/2025 21:07

Calories are not that’s scientific so could be wrong but about 1200 today.

4x Coffee with milk, one sugar (240 cals)
3x Pint squash
Chunky Lamb Soup (240 cals)
Fat free cottage cheese stirred into soup (estimate 30 cals)
2x Banana (240 cals)
1 small slice bread (100 cals)
Mackerel (230 cals)
Small amount of spread/cheese (100 cals)

11.7k steps.

Yes I will daily weigh until I get into 10’s then just Tuesday and Fridays.

welcome to our newcomer! Any tips you can share for lower calorie days?

good luck for weigh tomorrow @Smartmove

OP posts:
Smartmove · 25/03/2025 07:30

Am back to 10! Think body likes to gravitate here . I knew after my high cals days last week weekend needed to be lower but I just didn’t bother!!!
so here we go hoping a few days at 1300 will bring me down by Mother’s Day. Going to daily weigh to check that’s going on.

agh!!!!!

Smartmove · 25/03/2025 09:42

Panned my day for 1200 these days. I often can get hungry on that but will have to push through so that I lose 2 by Sunday!

Bubbles44 · 25/03/2025 11:11

Ah that's manageable @Smartmove try and stay on track and you'll drop. Hard getting head in gear after a more relaxed few days. Have you thought about your approach on your holidays? How long are you away for?

Sounds like a low day yesterday @hollyblueivy hope you got a drop today.

I will weigh tomorrow!

Smartmove · 25/03/2025 11:37

@Bubbles44 i would appreciate any tips I usually go on holiday with intentions and loose my head!!! I’m gone for 11 days so I could do serious damage. I have a few thoughts about it but not finalised any!

not hungry so far which is good should nd on 1200 and ten thousand steps!

I’ll weigh tmrw too

Smartmove · 25/03/2025 14:50

So I’m not planning on loosing or even staying the same. As it’s hard work doing both and I want to enjoy my holiday. But I also don’t want to gain 7-9 pounds! So plans of actions are

  • fruit yoghurt or egg white omelette with nice toppings for brekkie. I’ll switch between the 2. Only the last morning I’ll go wild with the cakes crossiants and pancakes 😂 if I want to . I very easily overeat at hotel brekkies as we sit there ages while kids try everything out!
  • work out so I still do my 4 times a week. Short 20-30 min sessions so must be 4. Swimming doesn’t count that will be extra (end up messing about and kids don’t let me sim for long enough)
  • totally enjoy my 3 course dinners and get what I want but prob should alternate my puddings with fruit ow I’ll get very fat! And I may occasionally do starter for brekkie and main course. I think I can do this. If nothing majorly exciting I’ll get a fruit platter if I want something
  • no need for day time icecream. Doesn’t bother me.
  • lunch - salads fruit and low carb options
  • alcohol - shouldn’t really drink all 10 nights! I think choosing 7 to drink is reasonable (the day I land I’ll be tired , the day before we leave I won’t want to be tired on the plane and I’ll choose one more alcohol free day). I’ll realistically end up having half a bottle wi the DH other days

I’m basically coming back 10stone and 7 or something aren’t I ! Oh well!!!! I really looking fwd to it. So I’ll enjoy it but I think the above I can stick to?

it’s a beach holiday so sadly not even lots of steps. Can anyone else give me some tips! So I can damage limit. I’m basically saying dinner is more or less as I want and need to pull back the rest of day and just act normally. Is this realistic? I’m aware even with this plan I’ll pop some weight on.

hollyblueivy · 25/03/2025 16:10

Just catching up.

@SmartmoveYou can definitely drop a couple
before holiday. I think your plan sounds good. Hopefully it will keep you sticking to the plan in the day knowing that you’re allowing yourself whatever at dinner. Maybe if you go off track during the day or at breakfast just have one less course at dinner. With alcohol I find that I really enjoy the first one, but that enjoyment level reduces the more I have. So maybe just try to be mindful about whether you really want it, or add lemonade as a spritz to last you longer. As you say it is likely that you will put on but if you can keep into within a reasonable amount, you can get rid of it within a week or two of being home. Food and drinks are a massive part of a holiday for me and if we’re good all year round, we should be allowed to enjoy meals on holiday!

hollyblueivy · 25/03/2025 16:12

11:1:0 today - was pleased with that.

Had a 50 minute strength session and intend to run tomorrow as think the weather is supposed to be nice.

food so far:
Packet Latte (100)
Coffee with milk / sugar (70)
1.5L water
2 easy peelers (40)
1 banana (100)
Total 310

Dinner will be either chicken or fish with new potatoes and veg. Will only have small portion potatoes and load up on the veg.

Fab @hollyblueivy def get to ur below 11 on Friday .

I’ve ended on 1200 but carbs on higher side
10000 steps
suspect no drop tmrw as I find I drop alternate days

run away from kitchen as kids have lasagne and garlic bread

ive just had a huge egg white omelette

Smartmove · 25/03/2025 17:28

On 1350 now coz I couldn’t resit a slice of the garlic bread. Am def done now. Slightly annoyed at myself.

Smartmove · 25/03/2025 17:30

@hollyblueivy totally agree for me I enjoy my first 2 glasses and then the rest is not needed
on Friday I went out and had 2 glasses I enjoyed it and felt fine next day…I don’t mind sticking to 2 whilst away but I know I can go into “holiday mode”

Infracat · 25/03/2025 18:03

Hi all.
I have this awful cycle going on where I spend January to July/August dieting for holiday. Have holiday, put on a load of weight and then carry on piling on the weight until after Xmas when the dieting starts again. It's crazy and can't be healthy. I'd like to be able to stay in the 10s. Preferably 10st 7lb all year round.

I'm currently racing to lose for our holiday which this year is at beginning of July
I have a problem with my foot so can only really swim for exercise. I'm doing 5:2.

Fingers crossed I can get the weight off before the holiday, otherwise I won't feel good.

You all sound like you're doing really well.

Smartmove · 25/03/2025 19:22

@Infracat i Know it’s so hard to just keep steady isn’t it! What weight r u now

im setting myself a 4 day 1200 cals and under 50g carb challenge. It’s got to be done ow I won’t make 9.12 and I leave for holiday so soon and have lunch out on Sunday for Mother’s Day which I intend on enjoying with pudding and starter :)

Bubbles44 · 25/03/2025 19:44

Sounds a good plan for your holidays @Smartmove.

On my last holiday in May, I got to 9.9 and actually felt confident in my bikini, only put 2 pounds on which still amazes me but I ran every day and most days had only one meal which included a lot of the desserts. As you know, I massively struggle with moderation so I found it easier to eat what I want for a couple of hours than be mindful all day. Also as I don't eat meat, breakfast would be a sugar feast so it wasn't too hard as didn't want to feel bloated and rubbish on holidays. I would hope to take that approach again this year.
You seem to do lots better at moderation throughout the day than I could so I think your plan sounds do able. Also holidays are special and expensive so just enjoy but be mindful! Good luck over the next few days. I think short term goals feel more exciting!

@Infracat yes it's hard isn't it. Certain parts of the year throw up different things. Hopefully a good run up until your holidays in July!

@hollyblueivy ahh so close! Keep going. Sounds like your calories are really low this week!

All good here, few temptations but managed to swerve!

Smartmove · 25/03/2025 19:46

@Bubbles44 i have no idea how u fast all day and do one meal. I would chew my arm off!!!!!! And binge
suppose ur body used to it and also ur very strong!!!! I would love to do that but thats just not going to happen so I wont lie 😂😂😂

yes its just short term…I used to have to do that for weeks on end to loose. So just 4 days and I’ll get back to 9.12 I hope!

Infracat · 25/03/2025 21:46

@Smartmove9.12 is exactly where I need to be by July. I'm currently 11.6.

I've got Pizza Express with friends on Fri night and a takeaway curry at my MILs on Sat!!!!! Going to have tobe seriously in control.

Bubbles44 · 26/03/2025 05:46

10 hopefully back in the 9's by Friday!

Smartmove · 26/03/2025 06:57

Dropped half. Another 1.5 to go. Gonna be tight to make it by Sunday. May not be dead on 9.12 but should be close…..I then have 4 days post Mother’s Day to loose that bloat.

workout today
1200 cals 530pm end eating window

hollyblueivy · 26/03/2025 07:31

I am in the 10’s !!!!!!!!

wooo hoooo yaaass!

Honestly I feel like I do deserve this, can’t believe it’s taken three months from Christmas. I think I’ll be scared to indulge this Christmas after these last few months!

i will probably daily weigh until Tuesday next week then revert to Tuesday and Friday weigh.

Third Time Lucky - Fast to goal
OP posts:
Bubbles44 · 26/03/2025 07:53

That's amazing @hollyblueivy so happy for you. Definitely deserved. Bet you'll have skip in your step today. Well done!
Yes just when you think you're getting somewhere, holidays and Easter are on the horizon. We can do it!!

hollyblueivy · 26/03/2025 07:59

@Bubbles44That’s so true, there’s always something isn’t there!

OP posts:
Smartmove · 26/03/2025 10:31

Yay @hollyblueivy u did it! Knew u would :) u just needed a few days to pull back on the weekend treats. Well done

now don’t do a me and self sabotage that. Keep going as bubbles says there’s Easter soon!!!

done my workout wasn’t the best but it’s done. Am hungry but had brekkie so will down water till 12! Aiming for under 1300 ideally 1200 these next few days.

Smartmove · 26/03/2025 13:30

I’ve just massively served cupcakes in the office
i even chose one

and then talked myself out

no longer in the office so result for me!!!

I did however have 100 cals of dark chocolate to curb the urge so may end up on 1350 not 1200 but that’s better than the cupcake

well done to me!

Bubbles44 · 26/03/2025 17:01

Well done @Smartmove for that, such an achievement, especially as you had chosen one.
I've had some chocolates quite a few as it's dh birthday so knew I'd have something off plan. No special dinner planned this evening so may skip and just have some Greek yogurt. Might not make 9.13 Friday. Although weekend pretty clear and think we are doing walk and picnic Mother's Day so hope that it's in my control.

Smartmove · 26/03/2025 17:29

I’ve ended on 1400 due to the dark chocolate and a Babybel but will have to do! It’s below my maintence at least. Need to not have the kids dinner as still a little peckish!

@hollyblueivy hope ur day gone well :)

@Bubbles44 thatd good going for a bday. How did u resit the cake - my absolute weakness!
