This is the new thread to discuss us using fasting to get to our goal weight. Believe it or not but this is the third thread with the first from around 18 months ago!

No I am not at goal yet. I dare not look at what I weighed then as there is a good chance I'm about the same weight now having recently put back on!

Anyway. Now is the time to keep going. To allow for a bit on over Christmas and get a head start for the New Year. 2025 I WILL get to goal!

Anyone else is wearing to join.

My starting weight was probably 12:9 at heaviest. I'm just over 11 stone now and my goal is around 10:3.

Let's go!

1300 day planned with a black coffee which always means business

planned my weekend at 1400 so may delay weigh in Monday will see!

Agree with what @Bubbles44 says, allow a few pounds either side of your goal weight. It's probably because the higher end puts you in the 10 stone bracket which makes more of a psychological difference. Keep going though, you know you can do it and it may take a while to really settle into maintenance.

11:1:2 today. Feel like I must be doing something right this week. Not going to fast today as don't want to somehow sabotage.

Gym today which I'm looking forward to. For mind and body today!

Good day here. Run lots of steps and healthy food. Friday is always risk day but got a lot on so going to fast as long as I can and plan food. Got a night away with friends Saturday. Not too worried about it. Plan is to relax a little on Saturday. Skip breakfast on Sunday and fast until I'm home!

How have you both got on today?

I’ve had a good day weirdly super full on 1250 calls think boiled eggs helped! Tmrw hoping for similar and over weekend

@SmartmoveGreat work having a lower calorie day.

I ate light all day, went to the gym. Could feel I had less energy due to lack of food but did an ok workout. Ended up having seconds after dinner, feeling stuffed and still having post dinner chocolate. Not sure what happened there but scales may be up this morning. I know I’ve been saying that every day, but I actually still feel full from dinner last night this morning, so I clearly did overeat.

No plans this weekend so will try to workout Friday Saturday and Sunday in one form or another. As I had a heavy alcohol weekend last weekend, I’ll just have 1-2 drinks max, if any. It’s the food / treats that may tempt me.

back to 10.12 infact was 10.11.9. Very surprised there.
I didn’t enjoy the week of excess over weekend and worrying over the week that’s not how I want things to be every week. So going to steady it over the week this week esp as no significant plans and try balance 1700 over weekend 1500 over week. I think that would make me happier

i would like to stop calorie counting too but I don’t trust myself yet!

Do you mean you’re back to 9:12 @Smartmove - hats great that it dropped back to that so quickly. What would you say your maintenance calories are and what have they averaged over the last couple of weeks?

I was 11:1:2 so same as yesterday. If I can lose 1.5lb by next Friday I will be back in the 10’s - that’s what I need to keep at the front of my mind this weekend!

mine have come out as 1700 this week but I ate out over weekend on Friday and Sunday lunch so had to guess that which is always hard - Friday I ate light but was still fish cooked in oil/butter and sat lunch I had Chinese so I would be over or under that and just tried to over estimate it
according to tdee 1600 should be my maintence cals.

im actually going to try bit that this week as zero eating out plans can be accurate and see what happens . Then I think if I have social things on 2 days doing as I wish (but not being mad!) and normal / thoughtful in week should work to maintain

10 again for me. Which I'm happy about. Hoping next week illl see a 9. Gosh funny I'd hoped to see that 9 by end of Jan. I think now spring is coming makes me want to be better. My goal is to float between 9.9 and 10 I think. I struggle to get 9.9 and maintain but feel good that weight!

That's great @Smartmove I honestly think a crazy calorie day in the midst of low calorie days are good for the metabolism and our bodies don't just adapt to really low calories. Exciting about your holiday so soon!

So close @hollyblueivy I feel the frustration about the next stone. We'll do it soon. Sounds a sensible weekend for you so hopefully mid next week!

Agree @Bubbles44 but I just don’t like feeling that full / eating crap / worrying and guilty. If I had some crazy cals but with good healthy food and maybe one treat that be fine with me once a week. But I ate most things in sight last sat and I don’t like that feeling of loss of control around food? Prob something which will take a while to work though

enjoy ur night away @Bubbles44 ur doing fab! It’s not easy to maintain either sounds like ur head in right place so fingers crossed it may move in next few weeks!

I know what I want and I know that I want to be in the 10’s and I’ve been working hard for it, been a long time coming etc. All that seems to go out the window when I come face to face with cake or a beer on the weekend!

I ate a lot yest and today. Not crazy but a lot prob in 2000 cal range. Wondering if this is the new way for me. Eat and drink as I wish 2 days a week then pull back the other days …let’s see what happens this Friday!

going for an impromptu curry tonight! No alcohol as I said I’ll drive. No workout as have a terrible cold. Hopefully tmrw

tmrw back to it!

also thinking a Tuesday weigh in and Friday way fwd to remind me on Tuesday to behave! And then hope I’m back to 9.12 on the Friday!

Right back on pulling it back! Had a nice 2 days without calorie counting eating as I wished but trying to keep it healthy too. I had a Tiramsu and hot chocolate yest! Post curry!!! And on Friday I ate healthy but I had 4 drinks not 1!!!

today workout planned - nice long one as didn’t do yest
yoghurt fruit almond butter
avacado on low carb toast with egg
home made turkey burgers - unsure if will have it in a sourdough roll or not yet! Or just with veg

@SmartmoveSometimes you just need to get it out of your system. Hope you’re feeling reset and ready to go for a good week. Tuesday and Friday weigh sounds good. I’ll join you on that as soon as I get back in the 10’s. Still weighing daily at the moment with the mission ongoing!

Hello, lovely weekend. Yesterday wasn't too bad. 3 course meal but nothing else bad. Today, skipped the hotel breakfast and a healthy day. Although not much movement! So pretty happy with the weekend. Hope I see a 9 this week.

@Smartmove sounds a good plan going forward and I guess the perfect balance!

@hollyblueivy this is the week. Let us both see the next stone bracket!

today has been a disaster. Got no reason for it just being an idiot
so means the next 4 days have to be low! I had said I wanted to be a bit more balanced!!!! I did do my workout at least

11:3:2 which is the same as last Monday. Hopefully most will drop in the next couple of days and I can continue working on the current goal.

Weekends just get the better of me. What can I say?! I really do not know.

I have loads of fruit, veg and salad in so will aim to pack out meals with that.

the black coffee is out the window again, so I’ll see how I get on this week and reintroduce that next week if needs be.

water intake needs work again, all these good habits have slipped away a bit.

I will work out / run / walk everyday Monday to Thursday this week. Rest will likely be Friday and Saturday and I’ll try to go out for a run on Sunday.

I need to ditch the alcohol this weekend. Let’s see how this week goes before I think about that too much.

Little win was I wore a pair of jeans yesterday I hadn’t worn in a while and they are no longer tight on me.

@hollyblueivy its common. I’ve done it again too! I think u need a lot of strength and willpower to get through weekends no treats at all. I’m trying to tell myself that sat and Sunday I can have a slice of cake with a hope that means I don’t have cake and a hot chocolate and a chocolate bar and a biscuit!!!!!

I struggled again today. I think it’s the whole self sabotage thing and seeing what I can get away with
as much as I want to avoid scales tmrw I feel it may be needed to jolt me back into behaving.
esg lady says that over restricting even in week can lead to more overeating / binge behaviour. But I just can’t trust myself to have something small every day but I don’t like the loss of control I can have some days where I want everything with sugar in.
weirdly some days I’m fine…hmmmm

will go again tmrw and also have workout planned and I will weigh myself suspect it will be high with all the carbs and water retention

My workout didn’t happen. Felt shattered and decided to listen to my body rather than push it. Hopefully be revitalised for a decent session tomorrow.

Had soup for lunch. Felt hungry again so had one slice egg on toast and a banana. Will have a light dinner.

Not even 2k steps today!

good day planned here hope my head is screwed on! I don’t even like eating rubbish anymore . I much prefer whole healthy foods so not sure what I’ve been up to….will have some fruit when I fancy some sugar today if I’m struggling! Unsure about weighing think I’ll be totally P* off!
