Third Time Lucky - Fast to goal

@Bubbles44
@Smartmove
@Everythingaches

This is the new thread to discuss us using fasting to get to our goal weight. Believe it or not but this is the third thread with the first from around 18 months ago!

No I am not at goal yet. I dare not look at what I weighed then as there is a good chance I'm about the same weight now having recently put back on!

Anyway. Now is the time to keep going. To allow for a bit on over Christmas and get a head start for the New Year. 2025 I WILL get to goal!

Anyone else is wearing to join.

My starting weight was probably 12:9 at heaviest. I'm just over 11 stone now and my goal is around 10:3.

Let's go!

Well done for looking at the positives from your weekend @Bubbles44 - I agree sometimes having a little of something treat like helps to keep going during the week.

@Smartmove I think a day at maintenance after a heavier weekend is better than trying to restrict as that can create the danger zone of more wrong when really hungry.

11:2:3 today. That's a bit better. Black coffee on the go, light lunch and chicken and veg for dinner. Should also get to the gym today which I don't manage yesterday. Steps were around 8k.

Have a good day both

Smartmove · 04/03/2025 07:47

Well done @hollyblueivy have another good today

I should manage my steps but my knees r hurting post squatting :/ not happened before I don’t know if it’s my technique or something?

didn’t weigh really wanted to. Will do tmrw

toddler being insane today so wish me luck!

Bubbles44 · 04/03/2025 13:13

Hope it's a good day for you both. Glad the scales are down @hollyblueivy. Not too far off the 10's now.

Good day so far. Run this morning and will eat at 6pm. Thinking I'll weigh Sunday as that's when i weighed last weekend. Will keep me disciplined over the weekend too I hope!

Smartmove · 04/03/2025 13:50

Have slightly lost plot and have pancakes !
if I don’t have dinner and get my steps which I should it’s ok but a high carb day
but not sure I can fast from now till tmrw!!!!! What am I up to!

going to weigh tmrw to give me a shock!

Smartmove · 04/03/2025 13:51

Do u guys think 300 cals in walking is about right?? My cals this week will still be over my maintence again!

Smartmove · 04/03/2025 16:46

I think I’m going to be ok just with the pancakes at 2pm.
I’ll be on 1500 then but high carbs but least 10000 steps
gonna weigh tmrw as I’ve no idea what’s going on. Expect I’ll be 10

Bubbles44 · 04/03/2025 20:00

Good day! Managed to avoid the pancake madness! I'm so bad at making them that I didn't feel tempted and kids were too busy fighting over them!

How has the rest of your day been @Smartmove? Hard time to fast from 2pm. Good luck but don't be hard on yourself if you can't do it. Every time I attempt to close earlier than 5 I get so hungry.

Smartmove · 04/03/2025 20:08

@Bubbles44 massive huge fail. Remind me to never do that again. I can’t deal with hunger if I get too hungry I binge

so im weighing tmrw and not going to over restrict just eat normally 1500ish cals and enjoy Friday night out too. Trying not to freak out over the 300000 cals I prob ate today! Wtf is wrong with me! Been doing so well!

hollyblueivy · 04/03/2025 20:32

@Smartmove It's hard to stay consistent all the time and it's normal to go a little off track from time to time. Hopefully weighing tomorrow will help to draw a line under it and refocus.

I had a couple of small pancakes too. I love them and couldn't not have some. Didn't get to gym but managed 11.5k steps.

@Bubbles44 Well done on having a good day!

OP posts:
Smartmove · 05/03/2025 07:13

10 stone!!!!! So up by 2 ! Or 1 from last week
operation watch what I eat. I think it can get it off quite quickly if I just behave. Hope so. I need to stay under ten x
will report back today but aiming for 1300 and a workout lots and lots of water

hollyblueivy · 05/03/2025 07:30

Good job for weighing, do you think that will do the trick for you getting back on track? At least once you've lost any weight at all you'll be back in the 9's.

11:1:9 today - That's where I tend to get to by a Friday then mess it up over the weekend. Need to keep going to try to break this barrier.

Admittedly I am hungry today so I am having a small bowl of cereal and a coffee with milk. Shouldn't cause too much damage though.

Will get a workout of some sort in today.

OP posts:
Smartmove · 05/03/2025 07:41

Yes @hollyblueivy think I needed to do that. Pretty sure I can get back to 9.12 asap given what I’ve been eating ! Not sure how I thought I could eat like that my cals for the week are close to 2000!

@hollyblueivy glad it’s come off it’s only wed so u could get that 1.5 off maybe before?

Bubbles44 · 05/03/2025 11:06

That's great @hollyblueivy so close now. Do you think it's possible for Friday?

@Smartmove that's not bad at all. If you hadn't had your bad day yesterday you would have been in the 9's still. I'm sure a good day today and you'll drop straight back down!

Run done, will break at 4. Feel tired today! Early running taking its toll I think!

Smartmove · 05/03/2025 17:52

Kitchen closed at 1350 and medium carbs
workout done
will weigh tmrw hope im off a pound :/ but sometimes i find it catches up for 2 days
will do same tmrw but try keep carbs lower

then back to normal maintence when i hit 9.12

Bubbles44 · 05/03/2025 21:04

Well done for a good day @Smartmove!

Mine didn't go to plan! So tired today and just felt rubbish, so tried to cheer myself up with biscuits and toast. Didn't work! Obviously feel awful now and guilt but only myself to blame.

New day tomorrow!!

Smartmove · 06/03/2025 07:03

No movement
hopefully tmrw!

Bubbles44 · 06/03/2025 07:35

Yes sure you'll get movement tomorrow.

Such a good sleep. No run but feel lots better!

Smartmove · 06/03/2025 16:57

How I as ur day @Bubbles44 sorry u ate more than u wanted yest but I suspect ur so active sometimes ur body craves a sugar burst! Hopefully not too much damage done

ending now at 1300 again but no workout today. Really hope ive dropped tmrw :( im out tmrw and having that annoying

what shall I have that’s on plan
but also want to not over restirst
but also want to enjoy self

i find social things very hard!!!

Smartmove · 07/03/2025 07:11

9.12.2
aim to enjoy today but 1 drink and no carbs at dinner. Workout today.
9.12 next Friday

hollyblueivy · 07/03/2025 07:32

Great work getting back to your ideal maintenance weight @Smartmove Was that simply having a few lower calorie days or do you think the bad days were not as bad as you thought?

@Bubbles44 Hope you're feeling more refreshed after some good sleep. Feeling tired and rubbish is a recipe for comfort food!

11:1:4 today. It's not as low as I'd have like to be but I have marginally broken the usual 11:1:9 barrier. Just one social this weekend, for drinks and not food. May try to drink spirit and mixer rather than wine, is that the best thing to do for lower calories?

Need to just keep chopping away.

OP posts:
Smartmove · 07/03/2025 09:18

Well done @hollyblueivy
yes just choose a low cal mixer not full call! I should do same tonight but think I’ll just stick to one glass of wine.
suspect some of it was water weight so 2 days of behaving got rid of it? Not sure
eithet way shows I have to keep eye on the ball !!!!
planning a good weekend will report back tonight hopefully sober and only 1 glass of vino in me!

Bubbles44 · 07/03/2025 21:07

Hello! So glad it's Friday such a hectic week!

That's great @hollyblueivy. Great feeling breaking a weight. This time next week hopefully you'll hit the 10's!

@Smartmove it's seems as though you are just in maintenance now. Crazy couple of days but then a couple of sensible days and back to your goal weight! Well done. Does this feel manageable for the future? Have a fun night!

Mixed week for me! Good couple of days mixed with a bad couple of days. No idea why I went off my plan. My only excuse I can think of is tiredness and stressful work week. Ultimately I lacked discipline! Quiet weekend so definitely feel on it.

Smartmove · 08/03/2025 07:56

Morning girls!
yest I had 3 drinks not one!!! Oops. But luckily was a low carb and controlled meal with no carbs. And I didn’t go into f in mode all day and eat lots of crap I know that’s not going to help me maintain but old me would have had an “off day” but instead I just enjoyed dinner

back to it today. No plans . Will weigh again on Tuesday I think to keep me in check

@Bubbles44 i suppose so I think I would prefer it to be a bit more steady - so like equal cals more week rather than eating 500 cals of choc one day which doesn’t feel very healthy and makes me think I have those tendencies hiding under the surface. Does that make sense?

anyway today is
yoghurt berries
roast chicken and salad
land curry home made with cauliflower rice

work out will be done!

hollyblueivy · 08/03/2025 10:19

@Smartmove Great self awareness there with how you managed your day and your approach to maintaining. You'll be an expert by the time I get there and can give me all the tips!

My gosh, I had quite a few drinks. Haven't had that much in a long time. Much prefer my usual way of just having one or two over the weekend and won't be doing that again in a hurry. Hopefully over indulging on drinks yesterday will keep me from having any more today or tomorrow. I don't feel great today so not sure how that will be reflected in what I eat today.

No exercise that's for sure but I did a good workout yesterday and might go for a run in the morning, hopefully feel more human again by then.

11:1:6 today.

Bubbles44 · 08/03/2025 18:09

Great you were so mindful last night @Smartmove hope it's been a good day.

Hope you're feeling better now @hollyblueivy.

Good day here! Run and walk and healthy food!
