Third Time Lucky - Fast to goal

@Bubbles44
@Smartmove
@Everythingaches

This is the new thread to discuss us using fasting to get to our goal weight. Believe it or not but this is the third thread with the first from around 18 months ago!

No I am not at goal yet. I dare not look at what I weighed then as there is a good chance I'm about the same weight now having recently put back on!

Anyway. Now is the time to keep going. To allow for a bit on over Christmas and get a head start for the New Year. 2025 I WILL get to goal!

Anyone else is wearing to join.

My starting weight was probably 12:9 at heaviest. I'm just over 11 stone now and my goal is around 10:3.

Let's go!

Smartmove · 28/02/2025 07:32

will behave today and tmrw and weigh Sunday
unsure what scales will bring as prob clocked up 20000 yest

hollyblueivy · 28/02/2025 07:34

11:1:9 Today - That's actually a maintain compared with last Friday and the Friday before. This weight is a sticking point. It's the lowest I've been this month a few times but haven't gone below that. Probably because I get to it in a Friday and then mess around too much over the weekend.

Not this weekend. I'm 2lb away from the 10st bracket and I want that more than I want anything that may sabotage me this weekend.

As I have eaten quite light this week and avoided bread and cheese, I'm a bit concerned that when I start introducing these foods it'll go back on. So I may lightly introduce over the weekend just to normalise my eating a bit more.

Also out wanted to shout out to this thread, it's a great support and motivator. Have a great Friday and weekend ladies, we've got this.

Yes I definitely agree that this group motivates me! Definitely make me think twice about my food choices knowing I need to report back!

How have your days been? Back on track @Smartmove and ready for an on track weekend @hollyblueivy ?

My day has been good. Definitely been hungry and the Friday feeling makes me want treats. I resisted though, so feel happy with that. Feel confident with the weekend. Still not sure when to weigh yet as I'm on a good roll so don't want to sabotage myself!

Hope it's been a good day!

hollyblueivy · 28/02/2025 22:39

Today has been good for a Friday but not as good as the rest of the week. Had a takeaway caramel latte. Lunch and dinner was both more carby than in the week, but better than a takeaway and no alcohol or pudding. Didn't make it to gym but had a good 3 mile walk.

OP posts:
Smartmove · 01/03/2025 08:23

I had some bad news and stress test so I ate chocolate and had a take away. I really need to work on that :(

feeling ok today so back on track and going with tuna for lunch as it’s so super filling! Wil work out too.

Smartmove · 01/03/2025 13:55

My leggings r tight! I’ve done less Caroline this week and had last 2 days of prob 2500 cals! I’m totally on it today and feeling much better already

yoghurt kiwi berries flax
tuna for lunch
chicken salad for dinner ;was going to be a pitta pocket but I feel like staying away from the carbs ! I look preg!

workout done and was good. I think i may tmrw as im out for dinner tmrw and then I’ll have not weighed for age. Fully expect to be close to 10 tmrw given how i feel but hopefully its water weight

Bubbles44 · 01/03/2025 15:49

@Smartmove hope everything is ok, sounds like you needed some nice food yesterday, well done for being on it today especially when other things in life are stressful.

Just broke fast now. Run and walk done. Should be a good day!

Smartmove · 01/03/2025 20:05

Yes @Bubbles44 im better now. All ok. And was good today on 1200 cals and average carbs
workout was good

will do similar tmrw though going for dinner but just to a casual place so no alcohol or pudding will be had

hollyblueivy · 01/03/2025 20:56

Glad you're feeling better now @Smartmove
It's so hard to not emotionally eat. It is a comfort to me in happy, sad and stressful times. I'm not sure that will ever fully go away.

@Bubbles44 Well done on your run and walk. Do you stick to the same kind of run each time or do you mix with long, easy, speed, hills etc? I haven't ran outside for ages but hopefully soon as the weather seems to be turning a corner. (At the moment!)

I've had three meals today but all at home so nothing too crazy. Had a small cake which was about 250 cals. No alcohol. 12.5k steps. I'm going to say that's a good day for a Saturday. Not feeling deprived at all.

Smartmove · 01/03/2025 21:36

Well done @hollyblueivy !!! U kept to ur plan :) I think u will def make the 10s of u keep this up :) hard slog!!!!!

@Bubbles44 am interested to know what u weigh! U been fab for so long well done

tmrw will be another good day. Not sure re weighing feeling pretty big today!

Smartmove · 02/03/2025 07:56

Didn’t weigh
af has arrived
luckily on an arms day on Caroline today rather than legs so will do that (don’t feel like swatting about on day 1 of af!)

got yoghurt fruit am
egg white onlete
dinner out but just curry no pudding or alcohol

I’ll weigh next wed and hope to be back to 9.12 by end of week

Bubbles44 · 02/03/2025 09:48

I weighed today and was 10. Which hopefully means I'll get into the 9's by next weekend. I haven't been weighing a lot recently as I've known it would be bad, but that's the lowest I've seen since before Christmas so chuffed with that. Feel in a good place at the moment. Measuring nuts is definitely helping!

@hollyblueivy I tend to do 5K mid week, long run with friends on Saturday and try a bit of a faster run on Sunday. Would like to change it up a bit, the runna app sounds good but haven't got round to it yet. Have you missed outdoor running? Sounds like a good weekend food wise, hope it continues for you today and hopefully the 10's by Friday.

@Smartmove good idea not weighing. I think when you know it's not going to be what you like it can ruin your day or make you want to eat sugar. Hopefully by next week you'll be back to 9.12.

Hope it's another good week for us all. Looks like the weather will be nice which definitely helps motivate me!

Bubbles44 · 02/03/2025 12:15

Opened window at11 and in a really grazing mood. So far been ok and have planned day so need to try and stick to it. Always feel like this after weigh in!! Really need to learn how to have a longer window and not over eat!

Smartmove · 02/03/2025 13:16

Well done @Bubbles44 thats great.
I’ve had my food as per plan and just need to hold out till dinner as it’s curry so going to be greasy and filling! But like I said no alcohol and no pudding

i thibk I’ll weigh Thursday as I have a work meeting where food stares at me all afternoon! So if I have a few extra bits I wont know my true weight. So I’ll weigh then next.

i have a big dinner on Friday with dinner and drinks. Have skinny jeans chosen which only fit at 9.12 so need to eye on the plan!’n

off to do workout. Have calories in 900 for tonight which seems generous and then will be ending on 1200

hollyblueivy · 02/03/2025 15:48

@Bubbles44 Pleased your weigh was a good one. Weighing nuts will get you into the 9's. Sounds like you have a good mix on the runs. I'm don't necessarily miss outdoor running but I do enjoy it more when the weather is nicer. May try to get out next week.

@Smartmove Agree not weighing is best when you know Ian going to be bad. I don't think any good comes from a bad weigh in. Wait and hopefully back in 9's by Thursday. Enjoy your curry, one of my best dinners!

I've worked out but aside from that the day has fallen off plan. Will see the day out and start afresh tomorrow. Hopefully not too much damage done today. (But still going....)

OP posts:
Bubbles44 · 02/03/2025 17:57

Afternoon went off plan. A bit of everything was eaten. 6 days totally on plan. Blip today but back on now. Nothing really planned next week so going to be on it again! I think I needed it and will motivate me for the next week.

Hope you have enjoyed your more relaxed day @hollyblueivy definitely deserved after the week. Enjoy your curry @Smartmove.

Smartmove · 02/03/2025 19:14

Oops I had so much curry and so much naan. Normally that wouldn’t be an issue in maintence but I’ve just eaten everything in sight on Thursday and Friday too!!!! I don’t think I can get away with that many cals

right back on it. Weigh in Thursday. Not sure I’ll be back at 9.12. feeling that stressed feeling about it already!!

Bloddy enjoyed it though!!!!!!

good Mondays everyone. Well done @Bubbles44 doednt matter the odd day! Goes to show what a good and bad weigh in can do though!

Bubbles44 · 02/03/2025 20:54

Feel rubbish and guilty by what I've done! It's so nice waking up in the morning feeling light and happy. Rubbish food makes me feel so horrible and groggy, no chance I'll do my weights this evening. 6am run to press the reset button!

Glad you had a lovely time @Smartmove.

Hopefully we've all had enough treats to set us up for a good/ strict week!

Smartmove · 02/03/2025 21:16

No don’t feel guilty @Bubbles44
i know I’m feeling exact same
but the occasional day off plan doesn’t lead to long term weight gain

a few days back to normal and the bloat will gone

im feeling really chubby though after a few days. And worrying I’m falling into weight gain territory !

hollyblueivy · 03/03/2025 06:33

@Bubbles44 I can relate to that feeling of guilt too. We really shouldn't feel guilty but it's hard not to. I had quite a lot of bread yesterday so I feel bloated this morning. I also had four alcoholic drinks and have a bit of that post alcohol anxiety too. Both together doesn't feel good when all last week I felt great for being on track.

OP posts:
hollyblueivy · 03/03/2025 07:44

I just weighed. 11:4:5. That's a little over what I was last Monday. Hoping the weekend bloat will drop off quickly. If I spend another week being super good and end up with a maintain I'll be so annoyed! I know I didn't stay fully on plan this weekend but I was much better than usual. Will weigh tomorrow ans hope a couple of pounds have gone!

Back on the black coffee!

OP posts:
Smartmove · 03/03/2025 09:27

Sorry @hollyblueivy i think having weekends off sadly totally derail plans! I think weekends off are helpful in maintence phase but until I started watching my weekends I couldn’t shift my weight. Hopefully it will come off quickly though stay focussed when u weighing again??

I didn’t weigh I will do on Thursday. Work out done and feeling bloated and uncomfy so going to wear some tight trousers to remind me!!! Feeling focussed and like I want to eat nourishing healthy food af been and gone so should be a good week!

Bubbles44 · 03/03/2025 17:47

Ah it's frustrating isn't @hollyblueivy but well done on an improved weekend. Hope today has gone well?

How's yours been @Smartmove back in the zone?

As frustrated I am with myself for yesterday, I'm looking at positives. I was really Good Friday and Saturday. Sunday went off plan. Tiny splurge that I needed, that might actually help keep me on plan this week!
Good day today. Need a week of this. Maybe Saturday weigh, Or Sunday! Not sure!

Smartmove · 03/03/2025 19:43

I’ve had an ok day. Really it balance the ridicolous weekend I had to be very low cals. But I’ve ended up closer to maintence calories at 1500.

gonna have another gain :(

workout done!
