@Bubbles44
@Smartmove
@Everythingaches

This is the new thread to discuss us using fasting to get to our goal weight. Believe it or not but this is the third thread with the first from around 18 months ago!

No I am not at goal yet. I dare not look at what I weighed then as there is a good chance I'm about the same weight now having recently put back on!

Anyway. Now is the time to keep going. To allow for a bit on over Christmas and get a head start for the New Year. 2025 I WILL get to goal!

Anyone else is wearing to join.

My starting weight was probably 12:9 at heaviest. I'm just over 11 stone now and my goal is around 10:3.

Let's go!

A bit off plan this evening. Some chocolate and crackers with butter! All in all a good weekend though!

Ah @Smartmove I wouldn't stress at all. You'll pull it back in and be fine. You seem to be doing great, even with treats!

How has your weekend been @hollyblueivy?

How are your half terms looking? Im working a couple of days which is good for my fast days. Next Saturday is a big celebration day with family, need a good week so I can relax a little then!

Smartmove · 17/02/2025 18:40

I’ve shipped son off to grandma for a few days haha! So my routine is the same and just running around toddler. He’s back end of week but we staying local so shouldn’t go too astray . Basically my week should be on plan

the weekend was pretty much what i felt like eating ! Felt very free and also “normal” for first time in years. I didn’t wake up feeling guilty but thought i do need to just be aware this week ow i could gain.

today been good
1200 cals of high protein home cooked food. Feeling quite full from my huge dinner yest i think!

tmrw will be workout and similar cals

Bubbles44 · 17/02/2025 20:59

Good day here. Did feel hard today, probably because of sugar yesterday.
Off work tomorrow, will be out the house with kids until about 3ish so will stick to water and black coffee!!

Smartmove · 18/02/2025 13:20

Good day so far should be 1500 and a workout . Has brekkie of yoghurt and kiwi
lunch for home made guacamole chicken and low carb bread and some dark chocolate
dinner is chicken stir fry with broccoli

will aim for 1500 rest of week and weigh on sat and hopefully still 9.12 and weekend hasn’t totally damaged me!

Smartmove · 20/02/2025 09:55

How is everyone! @hollyblueivy and @Bubbles44

in ok. Kinda eating maintence cals I think and doing my excercise. I have had the odd over indulgence on icecream / cereal weirdly at 10pm when starving! I’m still having to think and plan my meals a lot I don’t trust myself to just eat when hungry and what I please yet!

plan today
yoghurt berries almond butter
lentil salad
sebass and veg
100 cals of choc
black coffee
work out

hollyblueivy · 20/02/2025 14:01

Quick check in - think I'm in for a gain this week.

Will report in morning with reflection on week and plan for week ahead.

OP posts:
Bubbles44 · 20/02/2025 18:15

Ok here! I did have some chocolate on Tuesday but ok apart from that! Long fasts and lots of exercise. I don't feel like I'm losing though. Feel like my set point has changed. Feel ok though and keep going.

Might weigh on Saturday to try and motivate me to stay on track tomorrow!
Are you both tomorrow?

Smartmove · 20/02/2025 18:30

In weighing sat
just eaten a millionaire shortbread and my cals r 1800 for the week! I’m pretty sure that’s going to be a gain.
may really try tmrw for a super low fat but worried for sat weigh in!

Bubbles44 · 21/02/2025 09:26

Didn't weigh! Might tomorrow. Been quite a good week with a couple of blips.
When kids are back in school it's 7 weeks until Easter hols. Really want to focus on my food and get in a good place with it all!

Smartmove · 21/02/2025 10:55

Ended up having jam toast this am my kids didn’t eat on the side of my boiled egg
extra low cals and carb day unlikely! Def looking at a gain tmrw

hollyblueivy · 21/02/2025 12:19

I was 11:1:9 this morning which is a maintain on last Friday. I thought I was in for a gain due to popcorn and drink at cinema (Bridget Jones, was fab and think I need to go again!) Also the odd cake / treat. It's actually been harder to reflect on the week with not having checked in here as frequently as I can't fully remember!

I have had a few good workouts and my gym mojo seems to be back, so that's good.

No plan this weekend, will allow a couple of drinks and treats.

Ready to have a good week next week though, I NEED 2lb off!!!

OP posts:
Smartmove · 21/02/2025 12:28

Ohhhh @hollyblueivy how great! So maybe u found ur maintence at least! And nice u got a suprise I’m going tmrw to watch Bridget. No popcorn but will have some drinks

should be in 1500 today so not mega low cal or low carb but so be it. Tmrw weigh in and 1810 this week so pretty sure it’s a gain

Smartmove · 21/02/2025 18:27

Really nervous for tmrw!!!!! Really don’t want a gain but should have thought of that whilst I ate fish and chips / icecream and bowls of cereal this week . The latter was due to be overly hungry after intense workouts. I’ve realised that hunger and me don’t do well. If I let myself get starving I open a door which is hard to close

so tmrw if there’s a gain, I just scale back next week no plans next weekend or in the week and tmrw it’s only a drink with Bridget. So I can def get off what I’ve gained quite easily. I don’t over restrict and starve myself I just go back to 3 meals and 1 snack a day and no evening late night snacking (when ceral toast and choc were consumed).

report back at 715 tmrw!

Bubbles44 · 21/02/2025 21:10

Good luck tomorrow morning @Smartmove you've done so well even a pound on is nothing and can be pulled back easily. It seems as though your set point has shifted and your body likes 9.12ish.

Well done @hollyblueivy on maintaining over half term, that's a great win. Seems as though you've enjoyed treats too which is fab! I'm sure back in routine you'll drop next week.

Need to see Bridget jones!

Frustrating day here. So busy and great intentions. 30K steps through walking and running but then got too hungry and tired and started eating all sorts. So annoyed at myself! Seem to be in this frustrating cycle at the moment!
Busy day tomorrow, out for a celebration so will eat meal out, cake etc.
will probably skip the scales as I know I'll feel rubbish if I weigh. Will run tomorrow but be back on it from Sunday food wise!

Nice to have a break in routine but looking forward to getting back to it and a good week.

Smartmove · 22/02/2025 07:06

9.13 so put on a pound. An ok with that as I know that this week I totally went overboard. My cals are coming out as 1850 and carbs much higher that should be and I didn’t walk on the school run (though I did workout extra). I think I would be bothered if I had been super good all week. And expected a loss or something
also aware natural fluctuations / cycle / post work out water . So it’s fine

going to do a week of 1650 which is actually a lot of food and hope I’m back to 9.12 by next Friday. Plan today
yoghurt fruit flax seeds
tuna toast thing from Emily English instagram page
Apple snack
2 drinks in cinema , home made fajitas

work out will be
sat Sunday Monday Wednesday this week

Smartmove · 22/02/2025 08:12

@Bubbles44 dont beat urself up that’s some serious activity! Can u plan for it different though? If u know ur going to be so active maybe a snack before u go tsp u dont go into ravenous mode (which is what happened to me this week and led to major overeating). So maybe some yoghurt and fruit or a slice of sourdough - a bit carby ? I find I need extra carbs the days I work out more

enjoy ur weekend ur doing well! Am waiting til 9 to break my fast!

Bubbles44 · 22/02/2025 08:57

Well done @Smartmove you're continuing to do great!

Yes exactly that! I need to plan when I'm
Really busy. I thought chia pudding would be fine but really wasn't enough! Really looking forward to a day off thinking about food today and enjoying it and cake!

Will probably weigh next Friday! A week back in routine and I've bought no nuts this week as one off as I'm snacking on them when hungry!

Hope you both have a lovely weekend!

Smartmove · 23/02/2025 07:39

Well yest was not maintence
i drank and ate too much! Had a fab time. Bridget was so good I cried the whole way through!!!

so maintence calories from today! Can’t not gain again next wedj

hollyblueivy · 23/02/2025 08:49

It's a proper tear jerker isn't it?!

I had a decent 90m workout yesterday of strength and cardio, aching a bit today so rest day.

I did eat quite heavy though too had that full feeling all day and still a bit this morning.

I'll have a light brunch with a roast later. Pudding and maybe one drink.

Then draw the line to mark the end of the weekend and go into a new week. I'm my own worst enemy if I want to be in the 10's by the end of this month. But I can't help myself!!

OP posts:
Smartmove · 23/02/2025 13:24

So far good today
workout and if stick to 600 cals today I’ll be at 1550 which is fine. Need to do that all week

Bubbles44 · 23/02/2025 20:12

Usual story for me this weekend. Nothing crazy but lots of grazing and treats. I'm
full of Sunday night optimism for the new week and no real plans for the next couple of weekends so got lots of good intentions!

Smartmove · 23/02/2025 20:14

Today ended with cake and chocs
like u bubbles aiming for a good week and will delay weigh in to Sunday and hope to be back to 9.12
need to try not have sugar much this week but keep full and fuelled as hunger pushes me to sugar and it never ends well!

hollyblueivy · 23/02/2025 20:16

Cakes here too. Had a few drinks over course of weekend.

Still feel a bit hungry now and debating whether to eat or just have an early night.

OP posts:
Bubbles44 · 23/02/2025 21:04

Haha interested to know what decision was made @hollyblueivy.

Yes I need to steer clear of sugar too. I think that was my downfall today. Huge slice of delicious cake yesterday and was hungry this morning. Oh well. In work tomorrow at least so no option to not fast through it!

Smartmove · 24/02/2025 06:50

Right new week
ds is back. I need to really pull back this week otherwise weigh in is going to be upsetting!!!!
workout today
healthy protein and fibre filled food. Low in carbs. No sugar. Lots and lots of water!
