This is the new thread to discuss us using fasting to get to our goal weight. Believe it or not but this is the third thread with the first from around 18 months ago!

No I am not at goal yet. I dare not look at what I weighed then as there is a good chance I'm about the same weight now having recently put back on!

Anyway. Now is the time to keep going. To allow for a bit on over Christmas and get a head start for the New Year. 2025 I WILL get to goal!

Anyone else is wearing to join.

My starting weight was probably 12:9 at heaviest. I'm just over 11 stone now and my goal is around 10:3.

Let's go!

Well done on your great start to the week. My food was ok. I had a hungry day yesterday so had a fruit salad snack. Was still hungry after my dinner but didn't eat any more but just aware I felt hungry all day. Didn't go to the gym as felt my body needed rest. Had a great sleep last night though and ready to have a good day today.

@Bubbles44 nuts r so calorific but so healthy! It’s amazing how a small handful is like 150-200 cals! But I do try eat them often

today I’m treating myself to a low sugar seeded granola
left over Thai chicken for dinner
chick pea curry

will do 30 min work out in my daughters nap and should get 8000 steps in. Will
be 1500 cals and higher carbs but I find I need more carbs when I work out

Yes so so conscious of this. I definitely eat too many and would probably lose a lot faster if I was more controlled around them. I have handful in my nut/seed/fruit bowl. And probably several more handfuls as snacks! Need to cut the extras out! So nutritious and delicious though!

It's been a while. First week in January. I think if I knew it would be good I would weigh. Maybe I will this Friday. I think it will be around 10.2 maybe. I was looking at my weight and I've been struggling with staying in the 9's since the summer holidays ended. I need to probably weigh so I know where I'm at and get back down again for my holiday in May. It's the weekends that I need to tighten up on as always!

Well yest I had 2 slices of butter toast and about 500 cals of chocolate and some banana bread
im trying to work out what caused it as not done that in a while

i I think I did too much yest was very busy with toddler workout and also lots of housework

I started day with carbs - low carb granola

I can’t think what else it was. Anyway today I just need to stick to plan maybe watch the carbs ow I’ll have a gain on Friday and I don’t want to freak out!!!!

workout done now.
hopefully a good day but I’m not over restricting to balance for yest as I know hunger sends me off !

expecting a gain! Maybe 9.13?

But I’ll know why…I have a very quiet weekend so can try eat wholesome in calorie food all weekend. Except having one glass of wine with DH on Friday

today 1400 and work out done. Not healthy cals though as on an away day at work and lunch was sandwhiches only so also high carb…and highly upf. But just had to suck it up (also had some biscuits!). Skipping dinner as quite full and will push through till tmrw with herbal teas

I'm having a hungry week with low energy. No exercise so far, haven't forced myself to gym. Tried to appease hunger with snacking but things like fruit or extra soup. Will try again for exercise tomorrow. Feel heavy may weigh tomorrow to just check where I'm at but will also weigh Friday too as my formal weigh day.

Weekend is pretty clear so hopefully get a head start on next week.

It's strange how some times it's so easy and some weeks so hard!

Determined to have a good weekend! Need to avoid chocolate on Friday and then I think it will be ok!

Worried about tomorrow as off work so need to plan my day so I don't overeat!

Yes I managed 1200 which was needed as had over 2000 a few times this week! Eeek. Looks like I substituted alcohol with choc this week looking at my diary. I didn’t get work out or steps as at work till now and want to chill out with tv and herbal tea

will def weigh tmrw would love to have stayed same but my average cals this week is highest for months and months - 1750 so not sure if I’ll have gained on that?? I’ve been on 1400-1600 on most weeks on average

I’m up 0.4 which hasn’t surprised me
suspect that 1600 is my maintence as I’m coming in 1800

im going to try bring that back down for Tuesday with an interim weight. Think I pushed my boundaries too much to see what I could get away with!

10.2 I'm happy with that. I could feel wasn't lower. Feeling quite in the zone at the moment after such a stop, start beginning to the year. Typical it's when it's half term. But main focus is to get through today.

Hope it's positive weigh in @Smartmove feels like you've counted your cals so hopefully you'll be ok.

@hollyblueivy are you weighing? hope it's good!

Agree you're smashing the maintenance phase and I think pushing to see what you can get away with is an important part of that. Ideally you want to be able to eat as much as you can without putting on. That's the dream! Also if your maintenance calories are 1600, hopefully means not too much restriction if you need to drop a little. Keep us updated, can't wait to get there myself!

No pressure to step on scales today @Bubbles44 if you're not feeling it. Just being able to so long without weighing is great and I hope that's something I can also do, although think that will be a long way off for me yet.

I was 11:1:9 today so half a pound off this week. I'm ok with that. Plan to be in the elusive 10 stone bracket by the end of this week which means a steady and consistent two weeks of losing 1lb per week. Eeek I know it's doable but it just isn't something I have done for absolutely ages!!!

@Bubbles44 well done for not weighing and for staying at 10.2 and also being pleased at ur actions and not focussing on scale weight! Ur body is prob happy at this weight!

yes totally agree @hollyblueivy natural ups and down of a pound to be expected. But also I knew this week I was seeing what I could get away with! I had sat night with a lot of chocolate and cake and then more chocolate in the week (much past my 100 cals a day). I was at mums so I did workout but wasn’t able to push myself as much as usual. All these little things add up so I need to continue to monitor what I eat and do for longer to maintain and then slowly scale back on tracking etc I think.

That's great @hollyblueivy. Hopefully you'll get there soon. There is something about the next stone bracket isn't there! Definitely aiming to get into the 9's.
Hope it's a good day. I've got million things to do today so hoping I don't think about food and I can fast until after pick up!
I'll probably end up weighing every day now!!!!

Should be 1600 as long as I stick to 1 large glass of wine only and 3 choclates tonight with DH! 6000 steps no work out

will do a big one tmrw. Reckon 1600 is prob my maintence will try stick to this all week and see what happens!

Good day! Probably a bit higher than it should be but happy for a Friday and all
healthy food and lots of steps! Usually have the feeling on a Friday that I need sugar for a treat, then I eat too much and feel rubbish.
10K planned first thing tomorrow and then navigate the weekend.

I weighed today as decided to have a cheeky check after a lower carb day and I’m at 9.12! Which is shocking but great ! This must not derail me and 45 min workout planned today ! Xx

Mine did not!

I did 2 workouts but ate way too much this weekend. No alcohol at least . I shouldn’t have done that cheeky weight!

anyways u enjoyed my meals and ate healthy except the huge fish and chips I ate tonight!!!

will have a light week and weigh next sat and hope to stay at 9.12.
