@Bubbles44
@Smartmove
@Everythingaches

This is the new thread to discuss us using fasting to get to our goal weight. Believe it or not but this is the third thread with the first from around 18 months ago!

No I am not at goal yet. I dare not look at what I weighed then as there is a good chance I'm about the same weight now having recently put back on!

Anyway. Now is the time to keep going. To allow for a bit on over Christmas and get a head start for the New Year. 2025 I WILL get to goal!

Anyone else is wearing to join.

My starting weight was probably 12:9 at heaviest. I'm just over 11 stone now and my goal is around 10:3.

Let's go!

Sounds like a good weekend @Smartmove back to it tomorrow and hopefully a maintain for Friday. That would mean maintenance is working?

Hope you've had a good weekend @hollyblueivy when will you weigh next?

All good here. A really good weekend. No bad food and not even been tempted. Hoping for a good week ahead with lots of running/steps!

Smartmove · 02/02/2025 19:32

Yes @Bubbles44 if I’ve maintained this Friday I’ll be pleased and what I’m aiming to do but I’m not sure I will have I ate a LOT !!!!! Prob need till next Monday to get back down but I’m at mums over the weekend so can’t weigh (but hopefully can still eat healthily!)

so glad ur in a good space - prob just had the January blues!!!!

Smartmove · 03/02/2025 07:00

Cake and icecream consumed at 10pm last night

must get back on today! Cake hidden! Feeling bloated. Let’s go!!!!!

hollyblueivy · 03/02/2025 08:07

Morning, hope you're both ready to attack the day, the week and the month! January has finally left us and 2025 starts now!

You're both right that my little success came from managing my weekend a lot better and that's where I need to put my energy if I want to see results. It not going to be easy as that's when I do anything that is fun, the weekdays are more Groundhog Day like!

11:3:2 today up as expected- main goal is to get into the 10's - I'll say by next Friday as don't think I can do it by this Friday.

Have a good one

OP posts:
Bubbles44 · 03/02/2025 17:38

Yes, I definitely had the January blues bad! I think next year, no big resolutions for January. Just survival!! Ready for the new month.
Early run today, lots of steps, long fast, healthy food.

Mondays feel so much better after a good weekend of not eating rubbish! Just need to continue and remember how good it feels! I really would like to aim for 9.9 felt so good on holiday at that weight. It's hard to maintain but that's an aim. Realistically anywhere in the 9's I'm pretty happy with!

Hope it's been a good day for you both! Good, realistic goals which I'm sure both get!

Smartmove · 03/02/2025 19:16

@hollyblueivy hope u can chip away at that in the week.

@Bubbles44 o don’t think women are ever totally happy. I still feel like I should loose some more pounds but I also feel like I’m bored of it all and want to try maintaining. I look so much better but I’m hardly slim . Do u think we set aims we can’t reach?!

ok day today. 1300 total no steps or gym though.

will try for a bit lower tmrw. Not sure I’ll get my 3 gym sessions in which will be first in 3.5 months but have a really busy week work wise then at my mums over weekend - maybe I could actually do a Caroline body weight video that’s a good idea! I’ll do that sat and Sunday :) and try fit one in tmrw evening

Smartmove · 04/02/2025 14:11

good day today
Omelette brekkie
a very small slice of cake and coffee for lunch(this isn’t good but it was super tiny more like a few spoons)
cod and harrrisa beans for dinner

work out done :) should be 1100 with the cake too as long as I can push through to dinner time

Bubbles44 · 04/02/2025 21:14

@Smartmove agree never happy and always want more! So hard to live in the moment! When we are 90 we'll wish to have the body we have now!

Good day! Usual stuff no run but lots of steps. Will run tomorrow! Another quiet weekend ahead so just need to continue the calm streak!

hollyblueivy · 05/02/2025 07:35

@Bubbles44 I like the calm streak, I could do with one of those myself! February not likely but March could be purposefully calm.

Do you have any running goals this year?

@Smartmove Hope all the cake has been removed now! I also agree about never being quite happy with how we look and feel. It's annoying isn't it as I bet we will look back and wonder what we was so bothered about! I'm even pining after my 10st 8 body that I had for a short while last year!

Had to step on this morning - 11:2:5 - Wish I hadn't now as felt like it may have been lighter than that.

OP posts:
Smartmove · 05/02/2025 08:01

Still cake left! But given some to neighbours so not much
period arrived so gym not happening as feel very ughhhh
ill have to do the Caroline girvan body work outs at weekend at mums - never done them before though . That way u can get my 3 in for the week as did no 1 yest.

plan today is
yoghurt and fruit
soup and chicken
bean chilli
its very carby but it’s good carbs and in cals. I go right off fish the first few days of my period it’s quite strange!

Smartmove · 06/02/2025 10:45

Had a good day yest with 1400 cals roughly. Didn’t work out though
ive only done one so far this week as AF been awful! I’m hoping I can get them in at weekend at mums but with no weights not sure how effective it will be….
im hoping tmrw im back to 9.12/13 which means ive maintained this week . But worried lack of excercise and all the cake doesnt bode well. I have a quiet weekend no drinks and only 1 meal out so if there’s a gain it has to be gone by next week!

plan today 1200-1400 again. Weigh tmrw

hollyblueivy · 06/02/2025 12:41

Also only one workout so far this week, the week is slipping away from me!

I was 11:1:4 last week but my heavy weekend weight has lingered as I weighed again this morning and am still around 11:2:5 - if I'm that tomorrow then that's a 1lb gain on last week.

Need to knuckle down and get back in the elusive 10 stone bracket!!!

I won't ever take being in the 10's for granted again!

OP posts:
Smartmove · 06/02/2025 20:34

@Bubbles44 do u think ur mindset is better with not weighing? Focusing on health and run and food to nourish not the scales. And then that kinda follows? I feel much more like this though still haven’t shifted the scales obsession! Just wondering if it was we could inspire @hollyblueivy to see what happens if u only weighed once a week!!

I managed to gym so very proud of myself as I hate doing it in the vending I’m so tired once bed and bath for kids done but I did it!

on 1500 today as grazed a bit in afternoon

a bit nervous re tmrw weighed last 10 days ago. (Not fully rid of weight obsession!)Love to be 912/913 which is what I was last weigh in!

report in am!

Bubbles44 · 07/02/2025 05:53

Yes I think it's definitely helping. I've had a good couple of weeks and I've not even thought about weight. I will weigh soon as intrigue will definitely get the better of me. But at the moment I know I'm eating well, clothes fit fine. I just don't want to risk the spiralling mindset that I know will happen!
Early run, quiet weekend so will be all good!

Good luck with weigh in @Smartmove hope it goes well!
@hollyblueivy how's your weekend looking? Hope you can keep up the momentum! So hard at the weekend though!

Smartmove · 07/02/2025 07:34

9.12.5 so back to my lowest
aim to stay sane this week and love to loose that half! Quiet ish weekend so def doable!
have a good weekend everyone x

hollyblueivy · 07/02/2025 09:02

That's great work to have enjoyed celebrations and then pull it straight back to within your maintenance range, you must be so pleased with that.

11:2:5 for me so 1lb on from last week. Currently aim is to get into the 10's by the end of the month. Ideally sooner but have a few socials and half term that could through me off track a little. Will be good in between all that though.

Bubbles44 · 08/02/2025 08:35

Great @Smartmove you're maintaining and living life!! Are you finding it hard/restrictive would you say?
Feeling good today. Long run done!
Hope it's a good weekend everyone!

Smartmove · 08/02/2025 16:33

Thanks @Bubbles44

im finding it ok so far! I’m still being mindful and counting calories and logging onto here! But given I tried / lost most my weight on 1000 cals and then went a bit mad on holidays weekends and holidays away…it wasn’t very healthy (the on and off constantly) also 1000 cals is not easy or sustainable…..and I was also hungry most times and having to think about every morsel I ate!

now that I’m maintaining and discovered working out more I’m finding roughly 1600 is letting me maintain (very rough as difficult to count meals out slices of cake and keep track fully or things eaten when out or in groups). But That’s like a whole extra meal! It allowed me to have 3 meals a day , choc every day (150 cals worth) and an apple snack. I’m occasionally hungry on this but in general it’s working well for now. Given up trying to have no sugar - I think a small amount a day works better for me (dark chocolate). I’m also having whatever veg and fruit I want (not just low carb ones) and loads more pulses so feel I have lots of variety

I’m hungry right now but dinner out in a few hours so need to push through!

Smartmove · 08/02/2025 16:38

I’m going to try drop a pound this week though if possible. I have a very big holiday coming up in April and terrified I’ll gain a stone!

Smartmove · 09/02/2025 15:05

Not had the best weekend. Away at mums so done some body weight work outs but don’t feel they were really thatttt effective. Also no steps. No alcohol but out for a curry yest , has a cookie today etc etc. my jeans feel tight and I’m worried I’ll have gained on Friday. Off to plan the week. 1400-1500 a day needed and work outs

Tuesday
wed
sat and Sunday

Bubbles44 · 09/02/2025 18:59

Yes mixed weekend here too! Healthy week planned so just going to move forward and not dwell on it!!

Smartmove · 09/02/2025 19:17

Me too @Bubbles44 quiet week here too let’s have a good one
also not dwelling on it. It’s done and for me occasional treats are part of my week! Need to focus on working out this week all my sessions were half hearted this week due to AF and then being away for the weekend

hollyblueivy · 09/02/2025 20:54

Thanks both for your latest posts as I haven't been great this weekend and it's left me feeling a bit yucky and I was dwelling on it a bit. After reading your posts I'm going to draw a line and move into the new week afresh.

I agree too that my workouts need to really count and not mess about too much. Aiming for 3 workouts this week - likely to be Monday Wednesday and Friday.

I'd quite like to stay away from the scales this week and just focus on what I need to do. Will try not to do the usual doom weigh on a Monday morning.

Food wise will be mostly the same as I usually east during the week and will try to up my water intake as that's gone downhill again.

OP posts:
Smartmove · 10/02/2025 21:56

Good day 1500 cals - feels weird writing that down! As usually good day was 1000!
no work out but that’s for tmrw. Aiming for the same . I think 1500 with some heavy work outs could see me drop a tiny bit this week but let’s see! Will do a good one tmrw

Bubbles44 · 11/02/2025 07:05

Yes good day here yesterday too. Trying to cut down on cals, less nuts etc as think I'm
eating too much.
Run done, fast until 6!
Hope you had a positive day yesterday @hollyblueivy
