Third Time Lucky - Fast to goal

@Bubbles44
@Smartmove
@Everythingaches

This is the new thread to discuss us using fasting to get to our goal weight. Believe it or not but this is the third thread with the first from around 18 months ago!

No I am not at goal yet. I dare not look at what I weighed then as there is a good chance I'm about the same weight now having recently put back on!

Anyway. Now is the time to keep going. To allow for a bit on over Christmas and get a head start for the New Year. 2025 I WILL get to goal!

Anyone else is wearing to join.

My starting weight was probably 12:9 at heaviest. I'm just over 11 stone now and my goal is around 10:3.

Let's go!

Hi girls!

this last few days not been ideal! At all. Am not looking fwd to weigh tmrw def be a gain. I’ve had a lot of meals out where I’ve not held back!!! I’ve managed to be good in the day so least haven’t gone into F in mode all day long but really def had too many cals.

I did a workout today and now have a bday lunch for a friend

tmrw I get home and back to routine asap!

hollyblueivy · 25/01/2025 12:55

Would you be tempted to skip weighing this week and wait until next week? Or are you curious to see where you are?

OP posts:
Smartmove · 25/01/2025 18:04

Not curious I think it will stress me out
and have drunk 3 days in a row and had heavy meals out….so it’s inevitable I’ll have water weight
its been very nice to not get cross at myself at what is normal increase after a few days indulgence

im going to weigh on Monday or Tuesday once I’ve had a day or 2 of normal eating, suspect will still be a 2/3 pound gain even then!

hollyblueivy · 25/01/2025 19:39

That's a good idea. I've managed to avoid alcohol so far this weekend but we've just had a takeaway. Regret it already.

OP posts:
Smartmove · 25/01/2025 19:43

Don’t feel bad
if the rest of the day was good and u haven’t drunk I think a takeaway is ok - we have to find some balance ! Hopefully tmrw u can do a workout or some extra steps?

hope it was tasty :)

Smartmove · 25/01/2025 19:43

Thinking tmrw
yoghurt fruit
eggs avacdo
lamb mince home made burgers no bread

then similar Monday and then weigh!

Smartmove · 26/01/2025 09:22

Right back to it!
yoghurt fruit eaten. Quite looking fwd to not eating out and having some nice healthy food and no drink! Feeling very very bloated too. Will weigh on wed am and hope I’ve lost some of this bloat

its then 4 family bdays in a row and parties eeeekkkkkkk! Gonna have so much cake around me.

will gym today and aim for 1200 cal day

Smartmove · 26/01/2025 19:14

1400 and a work out. That was ok today ate healthy whole foods except 1 ferror rocher - they are still so delicious!!!

tmrw aim is to do 1200 but no workout. Weight on wed…not weighed this long in years

hollyblueivy · 26/01/2025 19:54

Well done for drawing the line so quickly and getting back to it.

I've managed to go all weekend with no alcohol so pleased about that.

Haven't eaten too bad today, so should be good to get going tomorrow through the week.

Gym plan for three times this week and to really put a decent effort in to each session. Try to get at least 8k steps on non gym days - I know that's not loads but good for me.

Food will be focus on protein in lunch and dinners.

Looking forward to a good week.

OP posts:
Smartmove · 27/01/2025 19:26

He not weighed for 10 days and now very stressed I’ve put on 7 pounds and have no idea!!! I think it’s important I weigh weekly. Why did I not do it on Wednesday before I left for work meeting!

today been ok but had a slice of cake
prob on 1500 which should be maintence but no steps and no work out.

think I’ll have to weigh tmrw but be prepared to be upset!

Bubbles44 · 27/01/2025 20:31

Hope it goes well tomorrow with weigh in @Smartmove. I think you'll be ok. Maybe a slight gain but nothing scary. Sounds like you have still been accountable and not gone as crazy as you might have in the past!

@hollyblueivy well done for no alcohol over the weekend that's a great win. Everything in the right direction and lots of exercise which is great! Hope it's a good week!

I'm all over the place. Been feeling so flat and eating sugar to try and boost myself which I know is ridiculous. Not to make excuses but think my own hormones have gone and I probably need a higher dose of HRT! Also not really weighing which is not like me. I am still fasting, eating mainly good food, lots of exercise but too many moments of chocolate madness. Maybe the restrictive start to the month messed with my head! Anyways, on a more positive note a good couple of days and a good week ahead!

Smartmove · 28/01/2025 07:53

Morning girls
ive put on ! I’m 10 stone
trying not to freak out haha! I’ve had a 5 days away from work and drunk most days so it wasn’t my usual routine I did do more steps and I kept to my workout though. Had hoped it was just a pound rather than 2!
anyways I think I can get some off it off today if I focus and surely it’s water weight….,

so plan today

yoghurt kiwi flax seeds
coffees with a dash of milk.
soup and chicken for lunch
stir fry dinner
work out
1000 cals today.

tmrw is DH bday and im out for lunch and dinner and got cake! Not going to have a drink and will fit my workout.

would like to back under 10 for Friday am (no plans thursday and at work)

Smartmove · 28/01/2025 07:59

@Bubbles44 sorry it’s hard atm
I think your prob at a good weight and just need to work out maintence life should be a bit fun!

Smartmove · 28/01/2025 08:58

@hollyblueivy well done on the no alcohol. I bet the scales will drop more this week.
I’m the opposite not drunk much since new years and just had 4 days in a row of 2 drinks a day. And now have a date night and bdays.
Feb should be a pretty dry month though!

Smartmove · 28/01/2025 18:31

Evening good day 1200 and workout. 4000 steps so not great but on my work days I only manage 2000 usually.

weighing tmrw which I had stopped doing but have a few days of meals out etc and I would like to know I’m back to under ten even it’s just a tiny bit

Bubbles44 · 28/01/2025 19:10

Good day here too. Had a good few days. Been consistently doing my weights which make me feel good too!
That's not a bad gain at all @Smartmove after a few days out. It'll be bloat and drop off. Enjoy the birthday celebrations!

hollyblueivy · 28/01/2025 21:59

@Bubbles44 Sorry you haven't been feeling yourself. How are you usually in January? It can be a bit of a flat month I find and will be glad to move into February this weekend. Good to hear your consistent weights are making you feel a bit better. Got to love those post workout hormones.

@Smartmove You've done a great job to only have a small gain when being so out of routine, that's a win! You're always very good at drawing a line quickly and getting back into the swing of things so hopefully a bit will come off by next weigh.

I feel like I'm slowly chipping away at it. As I don't count calories it's hard to know how much I'm actually consuming compared to usual, but I definitely feel more mindful about what I'm eating and whether I really want something. My downfall lately has been on the go caramel lattes which feel like such a treat but at the same time it's calories without even eating food. Need to cut that one back a bit!

OP posts:
Smartmove · 29/01/2025 08:14

Morning
lost one of the pounds. So under 10 again

today is a bit tricky as have a lunch and dinner out ….i have chosen both meals from menu but it’s inevitable that they will have some more carbs / salt than I would normally go for at home so prob won’t loose the other one…just let me try maintain this weight for tmrw. Then Thursday try have a super good day.

ill weigh again Friday am hope to be 9.13 or ideally back to 9.12.5 I was at my lowest.
then im back to once a week weighing. weekend is full of fizz date night and cake though!!!

30 min intense workout today to help with the cake calories later on!

hollyblueivy · 29/01/2025 08:18

Great plan @Smartmove

I had to weigh this morning, I think my body shape is changing a little as I kept having to pull my bottoms up at the gym this week.

11:2:1 - I wanted 11:1 by Friday so we will see what happens but it's going in the right direction.

I also have a social heavy weekend so fully expecting to indulge and gain. Will set me back a bit but will get straight back on it Monday.

OP posts:
Bubbles44 · 29/01/2025 21:06

That's great both of you. All going in the right direction. Amazing when clothes feel loose @hollyblueivy

Good day here. Been a good week. Quiet weekend so should stay consistent! Yes I think I do find January hard. That week at the beginning with all the ice and snow was so hard too and totally threw me off track! Feel much better now though!

Smartmove · 31/01/2025 06:53

Morning girls so we’d wedsaday. Brekkie fine
lunch on plan
workout done
dinner - ate everything in sight when at resturant !!!!
sigh!!!!

yest was good except the huge slice of cake I had so not weighing today as will just get upset and I know some of it is water weight. Today plan to be super on plan until this evening I have dinner with DH for his bday so will be drinks and cake. Then tmrw is afternoon tea so going to be a diaster

will excercise through it all! And on Sunday I’m back on plan. I’ll weigh myself next Friday I think with a view to be back to 9.12. Which gives me 5 days to loose the bloat from 4 days - may just be doable . Next weekend a little quieter so fingers crossed I am maintain the next few weeks. Had a lot of out of routine and stuff arm

well done @hollyblueivy and @Bubbles44 - when do u both weigh

hollyblueivy · 31/01/2025 08:02

Morning,

It's sounds like you have a good plan into this weekend and next week. You're continuing to exercise and if you make the right choices between your socials I think you'll be ok for next Friday. Enjoy the fun too!

11:1:4 today. I think I said I wanted 11:1 so I'm actually really happy with that and I'm starting to feel a lot more comfortable. I'd love to be under 11 stone next week. I have a heavy weekend so depends on what happens there but if not next week then the week after. I'll weigh on Monday to see the damage and may even weigh every day to track if I'm getting closer into the 10's, we'll see.

My steps this month have averages around 8400 and 8k is my goal so another little win.

Have a great weekend all.

OP posts:
Smartmove · 31/01/2025 14:23

Fab @hollyblueivy think quieter weekend last weekend is showing! I know u said it was busy this weekend but just try be good inbetween and keep up the steps. Fingers crossed for u.
I just did my workout wasn’t very good but least it’s done!
yoghurt fruit
eggs and feta for lunch
dinner - 2 courses wine and cake!

Bubbles44 · 31/01/2025 17:14

Well done @hollyblueivy that's great! I think a good weekend changes everything! Hope this one doesn't derail you too much.

@Smartmove enjoy the weekend and lovely treats. You did so well at Christmas getting back on it, these couple of days won't be a problem!

I'm feeling really good about things this week. Had a really good week and a good mindset. I was going to weigh but was scared after my bad couple of weeks and didn't want anything to set me back! Maybe after the weekend. My guess is 10.2 or 10.3 which is fine but I just don't know! This is very unusual for me!

Quiet weekend so running and walking hopefully!

Smartmove · 02/02/2025 11:44

Yest I must have consumed 5000 cals wot scones cakes and Prosecco. No way my 30 min gym didn’t anything against it.

ive stupidly gone and eaten a huge slice of cake for brekkie! But I have my lunch and dinner planned and I’ve just done a good work out

hopefully tmrw fully back on track. Prob on maintence cals today if rest of day goes to plan !
@Bubbles44 spunds like a very healthy headspace to be in. Hope u can maintain it a while then maybe some weight loss or easier maintence may emerge?
@hollyblueivy how did the weekend go,
