I've over indulged this weekend - no fruit or veg and feeling bloated and heavy. Will see out the bank holiday weekend and weigh early next week - getting back on track.

Need to work on getting to goal to focus on maintenance.

Hope your weekends are going well.

Right head screwed on today
let’s all have a good day :)

hollyblueivy · 18/06/2024 07:29

Morning! New day new chance to have a great day!

I just HAD to weigh and was 10:13:7 - it's nearly 2lb on since last weigh but just glad that I wasn't in 11's. Still quite proud that I am managing to go a few days without weighing and seeing that as progress. Hopefully will be able to stay away from them now until Saturday. Won't be 10:10:00 so same as @Smartmove I'll just be whatever I am.

@jelly79 - You say about your lack of motivation, is your weight steady at the moment? Has your body composition changed from all the running you're doing? Could it be that you've reached that point where you're relatively satisfied with where you are and the extra bit of effort doesn't seem quite as worth it? I think @Smartmove and I have also had a bit of that before when we seemed to almost naturally be maintaining.

Today will be lots of water, lunch and dinner only focussing on high protein and a bit of fibre. No time for exercise today and likely to be a walk at most for the rest of the week. Did have a great workout yesterday though.

I think the only way I can do long fasts is being out of the house. I really struggle if I’m home. Such weak discipline 🤦‍♀️.

@jelly79 just focus on each day. I think we go into panic mode when there are events. Sounds like you’re doing amazing with your running.

@hollyblueivy that’s good. Still in the 10’s. It’s Tuesdays so a good few days and you might get a nice surprise Saturday!

Yes a new day, hope it’s a good one for us all.

Run done, hungry already but won’t have an opportunity to eat until 6pm. Lots of water and black coffee!

jelly79 · 18/06/2024 10:59

Oooh thank you

@hollyblueivy I do think this that I am just happy where I am and actually I am smaller but heavier because of more muscle maybe

I maybe need to pack up the scales

It would be nice to lose my belly for holiday but also think Im mid 40s and had 2 kids 🤣

jelly79 · 18/06/2024 11:01

I was going to fast today but worked out this morning and I'm hungry now.

Planning on a big sweet potato with tuna and avo for lunch! (If I make it that long)

Working from home is an absolute killer though!

Smartmove · 18/06/2024 11:13

Think head screwed on today. I’ve had my brunch. Dinner is salmon and grilled med veg
900 cal day. Really want to do that until sat . Hopefully at least 10.4 by sat if not my 10.3!

Smartmove · 18/06/2024 16:38

Closing on 1000.
kitchen firmly shut!

Bubbles44 · 18/06/2024 18:51

Made it until 5.30, was so ready to eat! Had lots of fruit, nuts and yogurt and dark chocolate. Will have a cup of tea and close.

Hope it’s been a good day for everyone. Well done for getting back on it @Smartmove

It’s my weigh in tomorrow. 1 week since my last weigh in. Since then, I’ve had 4 really good days, a shockingly bad day, a bad day and an ok day. Very intrigued to know how my body has dealt with that.

Smartmove · 18/06/2024 19:33

I just made myself do a small workout even though I hate doing it once kids in bed and I like to slob out watching tv
surely that’s a win! Even if scales not 10.3 on sat am

not weighing tmrw. I ended on 1100 in end but prob burnt off 100 in gym if not more but let’s go with 100.

I go again tmrw.

Smartmove · 18/06/2024 19:33

Good luck tmrw @Bubbles44 i bet u will have good news!

Serialcatmum · 18/06/2024 19:50

Well done @Bubbles44 for holding out on the scales! and well done @Smartmove for getting an exercise in!!!

im on the spin bike as we speak doing a warm up before a 30 minute home session. I like to watch a session in YouTube and follow it otherwise I just ponder along.

im 24 hours into a 48hours fast. Had lots to drink and jisy had a zero calorie electrolyte tablet in my water. Feeling good so far but always struggle to sleep when fasting (apparently it’s those pesky keytones chasing around your blood stream!)

im put all day at work tomorrow and have a PT session after work so will be eating at 7:30ish. I’m going for a high protein and low calorie meal with some cheese and olives on the side to keep me under 800 cals and also try to avoid the upset stomach I’ve had the breaking my 48 hour fast in the past few months.

Bubbles44 · 19/06/2024 06:49

9.11! 2 pound gain! Im guessing it’s because weekend was so bad. Dread to think what it would have been Monday.Hopefully that’ll make me realise that I have to stay motivated. Lesson learnt.
Long fast today and tomorrow.
Might go back to daily weighing to keep a check on it! Try and not let it get me down today!

Wow @Serialcatmum that’s an amazing fast. Hope you feel ok. Are you starving by the end of it or do you go past it?

Run done, fast until 4.

Hope everyone had a good day!!

Serialcatmum · 19/06/2024 07:45

I don’t think that’s too bad @Bubbles44 ! You will have that off in no time.

I feel good. Slept better than usual and ready for my day! I go though stages of being hungry but they pass quickly in 20 mins after a drink. I really want to try the 72 hour fast but my husband is really against it- the fasting freaks him out! Might do it when he’s working away one time 😂

Smartmove · 19/06/2024 07:49

@Serialcatmum thats incredible I can’t go past 20 I get so hangry !!! What amazing determination

I didn’t weigh. I change my mind about it @Bubbles44 too. Maybe every third day is a good idea to keep an eye but also not get bothered by natural up and downs. Don’t worry about the gain to be fair that should have been your holiday gain and it will be off asap

going to have a good day today but no time to excercise.
I reckon I’m in 10.4 area atm

hollyblueivy · 19/06/2024 07:50

@Bubbles44 2lb isn't too bad considering you had a few days off (ish). I know what you mean about weighing daily as you know where you are and what you may have to do to stay on track.

I can't make up my mind yet whether or not I want to go back to daily weighing. I've done 2-3 per week for this week and last and it feels odd as it's new to me.

I don't like being such a slave to the scales and the number on them also though so it's a bit of a battle!

Didn't weigh today and will try to hold out until Saturday morning.

I've already had a boiled egg and was thinking of maybe starting the day with one every day rather than fasting until lunch to help get protein in and keep me going. It's only about 80 cals max for a large egg.

OP posts:
Bubbles44 · 19/06/2024 08:11

Yes I’m treating it as part of my holiday weight. I knew it was too good to be true.
@hollyblueivy yes I was enjoying weekly weighing when it was going well. Now not so well I want to go back to daily. Ah it’s hard!
@Serialcatmum good luck for the rest of the day. I hear so much about the health benefits of extending fasting, it’s just I really look forward to my food every day. Need to change my mindset maybe. Gin always says a great way to get out of a plateau is adf. Just can’t manage it.

Hope we all have a good day and stay focused!

hollyblueivy · 19/06/2024 08:19

Just counted up my calories from yesterday and was about 1,600 - need to do better today.

OP posts:
Smartmove · 19/06/2024 09:43

@hollyblueivy thats not too bad prob your maintence? Have u plugged it into a calculator and checked. I think it’s prob my maintence if I don’t excercise - quite depressing really!

Bubbles44 · 19/06/2024 18:41

Hope everyone has had a good day. Ok day here. Feel like I’ve eaten a lot though. Healthy stuff at least. Will weigh tomorrow. Probably a maintain I’m guessing!

Serialcatmum · 19/06/2024 19:02

Hi all,

I had to stop weighing myself as it became an absolute obsession. I’m jealous of folk that can weight themselves like a rational human being 😂😂

I’ve finished my PT session and going to have a shower and then settle down for some dinner at I’ll be past the 48 hour marker. I feel ok. Not too hungry and totally in charge.

Ill stick to 800 cals today so ease myself in.

Hope everyone managed to stay on track this evening xx

hollyblueivy · 19/06/2024 19:57

@Serialcatmum Sounds like you're smashing the week! I'm the same with the scales and trying to get a more healthy relationship with them. I've weighed daily for probably years so these last couple of weeks have been real progress.

What are your goals with your PT? I said before I would love one but can't justify the cost at the moment, maybe I'll treat myself in the new year if I'm still cycling the same pounds or needing to shed Xmas weight.

@Smartmove I'm not sure if that would be maintenance or not. Does anyone have a calculator they would recommend for me to check or do they all give the same result?

Today I've had 2 boiled egg, mackerel on toast and chicken pasta. Quite carby so feeling bloated from that and a higher calorie day yesterday. Not expecting a fantastic result come Saturday. Will try for a low calorie day tomorrow.

OP posts:
Smartmove · 19/06/2024 20:04

@hollyblueivy There’s a couple of tdee calculators out there u can use. They all give me about 1650 for maintence.

good day here. 950 and closed
@Serialcatmum that’s so impressive
@Bubbles44 hope tmrw is ok!

hollyblueivy · 19/06/2024 20:28

Smartmove · 19/06/2024 20:07

https://www.omnicalculator.com/health/maintenance-calorie

this one says I need 1600 if I do no excercise. And 1800 if I do some 2/3 times a week.

Mine allows a bit more but could be as I'm around half a stone heavier than you.

OP posts:
Bubbles44 · 20/06/2024 06:47

9.10. Feel like it’s going to be a while until I get to 9.9 again. Out all day Saturday with friends. It will definitely involve cake!!ahhh.

@serial hope you feel ok after breaking your long fast well done. Do you feel better for it?

Hope it’s a good one for everyone! I need to stay positive!
