I've over indulged this weekend - no fruit or veg and feeling bloated and heavy. Will see out the bank holiday weekend and weigh early next week - getting back on track.

Need to work on getting to goal to focus on maintenance.

Hope your weekends are going well.

Aldi do a lamb chunky soup so I'll have that for lunch with one slice toasted bread.

Dinner will be 5% fat steak mince spaghetti bolognaise. Depending how hungry I am to will be either with just salad or sweet potato.

I have tried to calorie count but I can't do it consistently. I just try to include protein in my meals and some form of veg or salad. Keeping carbs included but reduced and treats saved for weekends. (Mostly)

I think working out a few times per week helps with the maintenance too.

It seems like hard work to try to keep chipping away at the losses! It has been slow to non existent this year, but hopefully good habits / lifestyle created and at least it's not going in the other direction.

Yes am worried I’ll just go up! Coz I’ve not made huge huge changes but keep restricting and then having a binge quite frankly.

today I’ve had a choc bar coz I felt like it. If I stick to my mini dinner I’ll be 1400 which for Friday weigh in should be less really but I really fancied it!!!

will try 1009 tmrw!

Serialcatmum · 04/09/2024 21:46

@hollyblueivy i think it’s great that you are able to eat well and consciously and not calorie count!

Good day for me today. Finishing on 789 and managed to get a 1 hour PT session in after work.

Treated myself to a pizza oven at the weekend and I’m excited for home made pizza again on Saturday! (Got to have things to look forward to haven’t you!)

Bubbles44 · 05/09/2024 06:58

9.13 here feels like it’s going really slowly! Having a good week. Ran yesterday will go again tomorrow. Nice long fasts. I did have 100 cals of a twirl yesterday. Felt so ridiculously guilty. Silly really. Fast until 4 today!
Sounds like it’s going good all round.
Well done on all the exercise @hollyblueivy that’s great. Are you feeling lots better for it? Hope you get 10.9 today!
@Smartmove well done for resisting weighing. Sounds like you’re on for a good loss this week.
@Serialcatmum well done for getting straight back on such low cals! enjoy the pizza.
Nearing Friday! It’s been a long week!

Smartmove · 05/09/2024 07:40

i are everything in Sight yest :(
after the choc bar had my meal

and then had toast with Nutella more chicken curry and a mars icecream. Prob 2000 cals! Wtf is wrong with me and tmrw is weigh in :(

I give up! I’m entering maintence tmrw regardless and secretly hoping that reduces my over crazy days and results in a very slow loss?

at 10.3 my bmi is 23 and I feel fine though not “skinny” but after yest I’m not sure I’ll be there !

gonna go super good today .
boiled eggs brekkie
tuna salad lunch
black coffees
hummus and veg tea as will be on the go

hollyblueivy · 05/09/2024 08:06

@Smartmove Don't feel too bad, 2k calories is ok for a blow out. I think easing up on maintenance could be good for you and I hope the scales are kind to you tomorrow.

@Serialcatmum Pizza oven sounds amazing!

@Bubbles44 Back in the 9's that's awesome!

10:9:7 today - pleased with that. Tummy has felt podgy this week and slowly going down a little. Not likely to have time to exercise today but after three days straight of run and gym I can tell my body needs a rest.

OP posts:
Bubbles44 · 05/09/2024 17:47

Ah @Smartmove it’s so frustrating when it happens! I’ve been so bad at this lately. A crazy day that throws everything off for no reason. It’s one day though, 2000 cals doesn’t sound too bad at all. Hopefully you’ve had a good day today and really hope it’s a good number on the scales tomorrow!
Sounds like you’re having a great week @hollyblueivy. Will you continue over the weekend or relax a little?
Good day here. Fasted until 4. Having my last cup of tea and then I’ll close.

Smartmove · 05/09/2024 20:34

Hey girls

im getting myself in a right tizz over my game plan from tmrw onwards.

I’m out tmrw night so will be drinks and a meal. And then I’m at family on sat with a big family lunch. It’s all stressing me out
then what to do tmrw sat and then Sunday onwards

online it says 1600 is to maintain at my weight/height which is prob right

do I do that or maybe do 1400 in week and at weekends do as I please. And add my 3 times a week workout which has gone in?!

please help!!!! Ideally I would like to do what holly has done. Eat normally with some relaxing over weekends to maintain weight / loose very slowly but I need it to feel easier than it has been. Slower steady and less restrictive. Reduce those binges…get more fruit and fibre into my diet and less sugar!

Smartmove · 05/09/2024 20:35

I started bloddy looking up orilstat! To see if that may help!

Serialcatmum · 05/09/2024 20:35

Tbf 2000 is probably around maintenance calories!

Defo need to fit in those rest days @Bubbles44.

It was my rest day today and I finished the day on spot on 800. I always find that a bit satisfying. I’ll exercise in the morning and have 1600 cals tomorrow.

I had an unexpected huge bill earlier and was very very tempted to buy a giant bag of wotsits to devour. Managed to resist but it’s funny how we all want to go straight to food isn’t it!

Serialcatmum · 05/09/2024 20:37

Sorry I posted before I saw your last post.

id do the 1400 a day and then have a bit more flexibility Saturday and Sunday to be honest. I know it’s scary, but you’ve got to do a bit of trial and error!

Totally this - prepare your mindset for trial and error. It may take 4-6 weeks to really work out what you can get away with without putting on and managing to maintain without feeling restricted. Life is going to happen, so enjoy those moments and if you have more socialising than usual, plan how you're going to approach it and how mindful you want to be. If you go all out, it may just mean a few days reining it in to balance it out over the week.

Don't stress, you've done the hard work!

OP posts:
Bubbles44 · 06/09/2024 06:41

Sorry you’re finding it so hard @Smartmove . I think it’s always going to be hard and everyone says maintenance is the hardest. But yes, you’ve done the hard bit. Just relax a little on the weekends and try and be more mindful in the week. You’ll find your way with it. Just don’t panic. You know what to do!
Hope you have a good weigh in today. I think it’s a case of finding a lifestyle that suits and yo-yoing in a much smaller maintenance range!
10 here. I’ve had such a good week, but the weight just isn’t dropping! Literally the same weight as Tuesday ☹️. it will hopefully start moving by next week. Aim to not panic and a day full Of sugar certainly won’t help the situation. Not had any rubbish all week apart from a tiny bit of choc. I’ve done 3 long fasts. Hopefully next week the scales will catch up, I think I have reset my set point maybe?
Run done! Need to have a good weekend!

hollyblueivy · 06/09/2024 07:25

10:10:6 today but I was dressed as forgot to weigh in my usual light pjs so not sure how accurate today is. No worries if it is.

No morning run, it's a storm out there today, so will do strength and cardio later at the gym.

I've had one of my dark choc bars so far this week, so will likely have that as pudding this evening. Not sure on lunch or dinner but will try not to go too crazy this weekend and going to keep alcohol very low / non existent too as no formal drinking related socials.

Dare I say I have actually enjoyed being on it this week. More of the same please!

OP posts:
Smartmove · 06/09/2024 07:28

Thanks girls

feeling slightly calmer this am.
im 10.4 which isn’t 10.3 but will do!
im out tonight so today im having

yoghurt and fruit
prawn chipotle salad
ill not be calorie counting any fruit and veg now
dinner ill go for the grills which i like anyone and stick to processo not cocktails

I think I’ll try do 1400 in week so I’m not starving and relax at weekends then once I can trust myself not counting cals and just eat mindfully?!

well done no sugar @Bubbles44 . Your def due a woosssshhhh soon!

@hollyblueivy did u make 10.9!

hollyblueivy · 06/09/2024 07:41

Sounds like a great plan @Smartmove

I made the 10:9:7 yesterday but 10:10:6 today - but I was dressed so not sure how accurate. I'll take the weigh from yesterday as my win!

I like the not counting fruit veg salad, that's a good idea.

Looking forward to seeing how your maintenance is going.

OP posts:
Smartmove · 06/09/2024 11:39

Well done @hollyblueivy
tofay I’ve had a huge bowl of Greek but zero fat yoghurt piled with multiple berries and nurs
and a chicken avacado sandwhich just now from marks .

gonna do 40 min work out in DD nap.

then have some strawberries and almond butter at 3pm when I usually get hungry. Hope that sees me to 8pm when dinner is - olives if still peckish before I go.

it’s saying 1600 for all this food if I get grilled prawns and salad tonight and have 3 glasses of Prosecco which is prob my limit

Bubbles44 · 06/09/2024 14:04

Your weight is great @Smartmove and sounds a great approach going forwards. I think that the biggest thing is getting straight on a sensible way of eating after holidays and big weekends not just burying your head which I’ve done previously and then gained everything back.
Sounds good @hollyblueivy you’ve done so well with your exercise this week. I know what you mean about enjoying being on it.

I was feeling down about still being 10 even though I’ve not eaten any rubbish this week but was just listening to the latest Zoe podcast with davina was so interesting about how important diet is for women as we get older. So I’ll take my week as a win! Definitely worth a listen btw for information on hormones etc.

Smartmove · 06/09/2024 16:04

Don’t be down @Bubbles44 you work out and eat well and that’s more of a win for ur health and microbiome and muscle strength and everything. I’m sure u will get a woosh soon!

I’ve had a good day today - funny how not restricting has made me less hungry / not want sugar coz I’m full? I feel good nourishing myself with good food too (want to up my fibre and have over my 5 of fruit/veg a day now). I also enjoyed my work out.

im thinking I’ll try 1500 from Sunday onwards and see if that results in some very slow weight loss but makes it sustainable.

Bubbles44 · 07/09/2024 19:52

Hello, hope everyone is having a good weekend. Quick check in. So far so good here. Seemed to eat a lot yesterday but all healthy. Good day today. Still not feeling any slimmer though!! Might weigh tomorrow.

hollyblueivy · 07/09/2024 21:20

10:10:4 today

Whoops - Had takeaway dinner yesterday and today with lots of picky snacks during the day today. Not something I do that often with takeaway two days in a row so I'll let that go.

Will try to squeeze a run in tomorrow morning, the good thing is no alcohol so far this weekend. Will try for tomorrow too but one or two may be had depending on scales in the morning.

OP posts:
Smartmove · 08/09/2024 07:35

10.9 today!!! Had an absolute food fest. Hoping it’s all water. I was speaking to a friend who does as she pleases at weekend then used the week to get back to maintence weight and repeat
I’m wondering if I need to do that coz I have no control in social settings !!!

I worked out, didn’t drink much but I’ve eaten a lot of carbs

im gonna behave today. No poans. Try get back to 10.4 by next sat? Oops

hollyblueivy · 08/09/2024 08:38

That's interesting about your friend accepting the weekend to do whatever and just work hard during the week to get back to maintenance. It feels like that's what I have been doing unintentionally. That sounds good to me as it would mean losing the guilt on the weekend or a Monday weigh as it is intended and also I feel like I am really good at drawing a line on Monday and being focussed during the week. I do want to lose a bit more but this I think will probably be my approach to maintenance.

10:10:8 today - Genuinely shocked it's not more and concerned it may still catch up with me. run won't happen not. Belly bloated which is what I really don't like so will try to drink lots of water today.

OP posts:
Bubbles44 · 08/09/2024 10:20

10! Must keep going and not get really annoyed!!!!!!
Yes I agree, that seems a great place to get to. It’s just not letting it spiral into the week. I guess this is when the weekly weigh in is great too, stop stressing about daily fluctuations and notice the trend!

Smartmove · 08/09/2024 11:50

Gosh @Bubbles44 your are so on it too!!!!! U must be at set point and ur body isn’t having any of it. It will drop through keep going and rem that ur doing great things for ur body

well I’ll let u know if it works! I’m aiming for 1200 in week and then will weigh again on sat to ideally be 10.4 again. Feel like I’m doing a little trial
