I've over indulged this weekend - no fruit or veg and feeling bloated and heavy. Will see out the bank holiday weekend and weigh early next week - getting back on track.

Need to work on getting to goal to focus on maintenance.

Hope your weekends are going well.

Yest was average day. The stress of oasis tickets pushed me into having some choc! And then I had a dinner planned and had some bread on the side. I also didn’t move much.

today I’m back on and thinking I won’t weight till next Friday this is my last week of restriction and then I go into maintence. I can’t be arsed anymore!!! And I need to work on how I see and deal with food staying on this thread !

hollyblueivy · 01/09/2024 08:08

Did you get the tickets?

I went to gym and got 13k steps yesterday. Only had a half at the pub but had it with some chips.

Dinner was pasta bake with salad. Pasta always bloats me so could see a gain today. Will report on that later. Had some dark chocolate- May need to hide that for next week! Tried to have a couple of coffees without sugar as I'll try that for next week too.

No plans today, might go to the gym for a light session. Wouldn't mind trying to do something everyday next week as part of the 'stricter' one week diet.

Not sure on food today, to be completely honest I wouldn't be surprised if I have takeaway, last meal before working hard next week.

Morning!

I’m back after 4/ 5 weeks off. I’m not weighing myself… I don’t need that kind of negatively in my life 😂. Will wait till I get the urge and let you know (might be weeks and weeks!)

I absolutely was not mindful (or demure or cutesy) and honestly it does confirm that this is probably how I just need to live my life, fasting and low calories with regular breaks for both my metabolism and mental health.

I kept up with my exercise and have a plan for the next week that involves fasting during the day and then very low calories 4 days and 1600 for 3 days.

Back at work tomorrow and starting my day with a good workout for ensure I’m in a good place in the morning.

im trying hello fresh again for 8ish weeks (got a really good deal!) and I’ve selected the low calorie meals so will be nice to try some different foods. And I’ll just cancel if it’s not working for me!

I haven’t read the thread yet but I’ll read the last page to see how everyone is getting on xx

Bubbles44 · 01/09/2024 09:09

Did you get tickets @Smartmove ? The most stressful day here too. Was trying until 4pm nightmare and was unsuccessful. I started eating at 10am because of the stress!
hope you had a wonderful break @Serialcatmum yes just get back it as best as you can. Always hard after a nice break but you know what works for you.

Smartmove · 01/09/2024 09:25

@hollyblueivy no I didn’t :( totally ruined my mood yest

im planning a week of 1000 cals and then Friday is my final weight and I enter maintence (for now!)

Smartmove · 01/09/2024 09:26

@Bubbles44 i tried from 8am till 4pm too and the stress resulted in half a bar of dark choc and toast eaten!
was so cross at the websites!!! Kept crashing and throwing me out coz I was a bot!

hollyblueivy · 01/09/2024 10:12

10:11:5 which is a maintain on yesterday. Happy with that. See what today brings then restrict to try to get back to the 10:9:0 mark.

OP posts:
Bubbles44 · 01/09/2024 18:10

I know @Smartmove it was awful! Don’t think I’ll ever get over the frustration!!

Window closed at 5pm haven’t eaten any rubbish. But have eaten a lot. Feel ok. Last day of holidays tomorrow but should have a good day. Look forward to the long fasts this week! Not looking for to weighing Tuesday, feel like it’s all caught up with me. Also, haven’t been consistent in doing my weights in the evenings. Definitely want to get back into the routine. So easy to break the habit!

hollyblueivy · 01/09/2024 21:36

Been a very picky bits day today, what I can remember is cereal, ham salad roll, leftover pasta, cheese and crackers, popcorn, chocolate. Not great but only had half a beer all weekend, so that's my win.

Rough plan for next week to get to 10:9:00 - hopefully by Friday, if not Saturday or Sunday.

Run in the morning Mon-Fri - 2 miles per day
Gym 3-5 times focus on strength training - shouldn't need to be there so long as cardio will have been done in the morning.

No breakfast - well, coffee no sugar
Lunch - things like omelette, soup, mackerel toast
Dinner - chicken, sweet potato, veg or salad type dinners
Try to steer clear of the chocolate but I will allow myself 2x bars of the dark choc if absolutely needed.
Loads of water. No sugar in coffee.

Aim for an eating window between 12-6 (ish)

Sounds a good plan @hollyblueivy. How often do you think you’ll weigh?

September definitely has that new year feel so let’s hope it’s a good week for us all.

Just been for my run. It’s starting to get darker in the mornings so might have to switch to evening running. Not sure how that will go. We’ll see. Fast until lunch. Lots of healthy food!

hollyblueivy · 02/09/2024 07:21

How far do you run in the mornings?

10:11:00 - Need 2lb off for a successful week.

Got up, put running gear on. It tipped it down raining and I couldn't bring myself to go. Sat working at home in running gear now, started early so hoping I'll force myself out for 25mins if the rain eases off.

OP posts:
hollyblueivy · 02/09/2024 09:55

I did it! I went out once the rain stopped 2 miles in 25 minutes. Plan to get out every morning this week except Thursday. But I will do some cardio at the gym that day in the evening.

Go me!

OP posts:
Bubbles44 · 02/09/2024 16:17

That’s great @hollyblueivy . Glad you got out. Really helps with mindset I find.
I tend to do 5K during the week and a bit longer at the weekend.

So far so good today. Will have dinner soon and close by 5.30.
Weigh In tomorrow. Feel like it’ll be in the 10’s. Back in work properly tomorrow so will be doing long fasts so hope that will get me in a good place!

hollyblueivy · 02/09/2024 17:06

5k is great, do you aim to run every day? 2miles was plenty for me, if I can do that in 25 minutes and then get a few weights sessions in too I'll be happy with that. Went to the gym and still managed to do an hour, so it didn't end up cutting my times down by that much.

Had omelette for lunch and have only had two coffees, both with no sugar. Adapting well so far.

Not sure what to have for dinner yet, need to decide and cook as I want to close window soon.

OP posts:
Smartmove · 02/09/2024 17:57

wow great plan @hollyblueivy hope u manage your no sugar in coffee! amazing work on the run - def go you!!! I’m restarting my excercise on Friday. I find it hard to restart when I stop. Then when I’m on it I keep going. Doing it made a huge difference to my shape esp my tummy which is now huge and sticking out again!

i ended on 1000 yest , 1150 today. Weigh in Friday now and then enter maintence. Not sure how to do that! I’m hoping for 10.3 but I’ll be what I’ll be!

@Bubbles44 good luck tmrw with weigh in. Hopefully kids back and back to routine you can get things moving down again!

Serialcatmum · 03/09/2024 06:13

Morning all, pleased you’re all back in the game! 25 min run it brilliant! I also prefer a morning exercise @hollyblueivy !

I finished yesterday on 775 cals and did a low key 30 mins on the gym after work.

I’m doing my exercise In the gym right now (just cooling down on the bike!) and have the same food planned as yesterday.

Bubbles44 · 03/09/2024 06:38

10 Don’t feel down about that. Had no real expectation. Not sure how I’ll manage weigh ins.
Might try and weigh Friday next. Plan is just to do my usual long fasts this week. Limit sugar.
Not sure about runs. Will aim for tomorrow and Friday during week. Really want to join the gym but just not sure what to fit it in!
Hope it’s a good day for everyone. Sounds like everyone getting back in the zone.

Smartmove · 03/09/2024 07:02

Welcome back @Serialcatmum good to see back in the swing of it too

@Bubbles44 well done on not being hard on urself. It’s been summer , we had holidays . Now we can reset and focus.

im feeling slimmer this am, prob back to 10.5 I reckon. Hoping next 3 days I’ll drop a pound or two. Was reading some maintence threads last night - it looks so hard! Mindful forever . And def need to not fall out of excercise

Serialcatmum · 03/09/2024 07:55

Ugh. The reality of being mindful forever. That’s just how it has to be 🤷

I plan on losing another 2 stone (I’ll still be overweight) and then trying to maintain for a little while! But think I’ll always have to track my calories.

I think I’m going to book into a RMR and VO2 test in a few weeks to get an accurate idea of what my calories SHOULD be as I seem to have a crazy low amount to be able to lose…

hollyblueivy · 03/09/2024 08:29

@Bubbles44 Just keep doing what you're doing and it won't take much to knock you back into the 9's.

@Serialcatmum Welcome back, straight into the food and workout habits too. That test sounds very interesting.

@Smartmove Keep going for a couple more days and you can work to maintain. If you start off broadly eating in the same way as you are now you can slowly gauge how many more calories you can eat whilst keeping weight roughly the same.

10:10:8 for me today. 2 miles run done just in time before the rain. Aim to go to the gym later but think I'll really try to focus on being in and out in no more than 45 mins otherwise there's no point in me doing my workouts separately.

OP posts:
Smartmove · 03/09/2024 09:59

Nearly got a choc twist from Costa! But I walked past! Was hard. If I had weighed reckon I would have done it!! But not knowing if I’m near 10.5 or not is helping me to push through a few more days

Smartmove · 03/09/2024 16:06

Ending at 1200 but going for a swim today so am happy with that . Am out on Friday night already anxious about sat scales!

Bubbles44 · 03/09/2024 19:53

Great, sounds like everyone is on it this week!
Well done for all the exercise @hollyblueivy that’s fab!
Really hope you get your good weight this weekend @Smartmove . Sounds like you’re doing great at resisting treats!
@Serialcatmum I was listening to a podcast about calories. It was saying if you have too few, your body adjusts and you burn fewer, it was a Jason fung one. I really like him. Maybe having had a few weeks off being so restrictive might help?

Good day here. Was hungry but managed it. Will aim for an early run. Feels like ages since I’ve had to do it before school run and work but will get organised tonight to make sure I go! Want to get comfortably back in the 9’s!

hollyblueivy · 04/09/2024 08:00

I love a good health and fitness podcast if anyone has any recommendations.

2m run done ✔️

10:10:1 today - Hoping I can see a 10:9 something tomorrow - probably need to keep carbs low for that. May have soup for lunch and light dinner.

Keep going everyone hope you're still having a successful week.

OP posts:
Smartmove · 04/09/2024 08:15

We all on a roll! Well done to us!
@hollyblueivy u will do that - what u eating today? It’s great u don’t calorie track or weigh food etc I never understand how anyone knows how much to eat on a diet - I need to get over this for maintenance and just eat till full.

i wonder where @jelly79 went!

@Serialcatmum be interesting to know - let us know ur results

@Bubbles44 hope the back to schooo routine has helped reset you

yest ended with 1200 and a 30 min swim. My bloat is better. I must be 10.5 or maybe 10.4 least that’s what I feel like. Push through the last 2 days and hope I’m 10.3 on Friday. Really want to weigh but not doing it!!!
