I've over indulged this weekend - no fruit or veg and feeling bloated and heavy. Will see out the bank holiday weekend and weigh early next week - getting back on track.

Need to work on getting to goal to focus on maintenance.

Hope your weekends are going well.

Managed on 900 and 19 hour fast
still don’t feel I’m back to 10.5 yet. Hoping I’m there or very close by Friday. I would really like to back at 10.3 by end of this month so can loose a bit more sept / Oct.

today is another 800 day planned but milk and nuts often push me over!

Bubbles44 · 21/08/2024 07:51

Have a great break away @Serialcatmum enjoy, you’ll soon be back in routine!

how did you find the longer fast
@Smartmove? When will you weigh do you think? Hope you get a nice surprise!

@hollyblueivy sounds like you’re doing so well with your plan, slow and steady!

9.13 again today. Feel hungry and not in work so need to be careful. Going to take the kids out and try and stay out to stop me eating!!

hollyblueivy · 21/08/2024 08:08

10:9:00 today - I woke up feeling slimmer if you know what I mean.

I has a sandwich for lunch and chicken noodles for dinner but was hungry during the day so also had a protein yogurt, banana and a small bar of dark chocolate. No gym MUST go today!

OP posts:
Bubbles44 · 21/08/2024 16:30

Disaster day here! I blame school holidays! I’ve been greedy! New day tomorrow. Will weigh on Saturday next I think!

Smartmove · 21/08/2024 19:38

@Bubbles44 its hard’ did u go out and eat sweet treats with ur kids! That’s what happened to me a few weeks ago.

I ended on 1100 and hopefully a good day tmrw and I’ll be close to 10.5 on Friday am when I weigh.

then next aim is back to 10.3 for 2nd Sept.
drop to 10 by mid Oct im going to change tactic from Sept and 1500 cals hope it stops me over eating sugar on the days i go out / fancy it

Bubbles44 · 21/08/2024 20:02

@Smartmove well done on your day. Such low calories! Sounds a good plan going forwards!

Dread to think what my final calorie count was today. Yes I ate some flapjack before I went out, then the treats kept flowing. Im so frustrated, I go past enjoying it and I start just eating for the sake of it because I might as well as I’ve already ruined the day. That is definitely what I need to work on!! Don’t know why I do it! I do it a lot less these days which is a positive!
A new day tomorrow!

hollyblueivy · 21/08/2024 21:24

Omelette for lunch and fish and sweet potato for dinner. Yes the dark chocolate made an appearance. Had another protein yogurt too. Overall shouldn't be too bad of a day. I finally made it to the gym so need to get two more workouts in before the end of the week.

@Smartmove Plan sounds good. I'll need to think how I want to go about getting some more weight off but not for another few weeks yet.

@Bubbles44 As you say tomorrow is a new day. It's too easy to hit the F it button.

OP posts:
hollyblueivy · 22/08/2024 08:06

10:8:8 Trying not to get too excited as we head into the bank holiday weekend this will go back up again, but I haven't had a 10:8 reading since March! (Excluding last month when I was poorly)

OP posts:
Smartmove · 22/08/2024 08:08

@hollyblueivy thats so good! Well done u! Question do u find u have less sugar binges as u just eat steady and don’t over restrict?

I also have crazy days @Bubbles44 and I really hate it! I am doing it less often but it’s not healthy and it derails my weight loss. Hence when I’m back at 10.3 I’m going to take a more gentle slow approach and hope I can have a treat now and then rather than saying never!

@Bubbles44 hope today is better for you….

so tempted to weigh today I even stood next to scale but then didn’t. No idea what tmrw wil bring I was 10.10 last Friday so I’ll be less I can feel it but not sure by how much!

hollyblueivy · 22/08/2024 08:29

I would say not over restricting is the key to me not putting on weight, but this has led to me maintaining rather than losing, so a little bit more restriction is needed.

Those little dark choc bars from Aldi are less than 150 cals but very satisfying and I have one 4-5 times per week. (I also have sugar in my coffee, can't stop.)

I just don't like feeling hungry so if I am I eat something rather than risk binging. Trying to snack on fruit / protein and better options though.

OP posts:
hollyblueivy · 22/08/2024 08:30

The other day I was hungry so I just scrambled two eggs and ate them on their own.

OP posts:
Smartmove · 22/08/2024 16:12

That’s fab @hollyblueivy i need to learn your way of eating and loosing weight. It’s much healthier than mine!

im nervous for tmrw - what a loser! I’ve been good but not perfect. I’ve not exercised at all and no steps as hurt my foot…my average cals are 1250 so def should have lost but it’s so weird not having a clue! If I’ve had a big loss then not weighing is the way fwd for me! Fingers crossed

my my tummy is very big so I’m suspecting a 2/3 pound loss and nowhere near my target range

Bubbles44 · 22/08/2024 17:01

Well done @hollyblueivy that’s fab!! Have you got a busy weekend? You’ve done so well with just being sensible! I need to learn this!
Good luck @Smartmove you’ve had a good week hopefully it will show. Just think if it’s not exactly what you want, just stick with it and it will catch up with you in a couple of days.

Feel better today. Just hate putting all that bad food into my body. Trying not to be too hard on myself. Fasted until 4. Close at 6 no sugar!

hollyblueivy · 23/08/2024 05:04

Said all that then went and drank half a bottle of wine last night. Affected my sleep and now woke early and will probably feel groggy today.

OP posts:
Smartmove · 23/08/2024 06:25

Am back to 10.5 exactly.

I seem to bounce back here after indulgence ok but getting lower is hard work.
im away now from Sat to Monday. Plan is to maintain and eat very light in day and enjoy dinner I won’t drink (gone off alcohol as drank so much last 2 months!)

then can ideally get to 10.3 for next Monday maybe? I think I’ll weigh daily whilst away to keep me in check but then won’t weigh until next sat am. I have today too to try drop a bit too

Bubbles44 · 23/08/2024 07:39

That’s great @Smartmove 5 pounds in a week is great! Must feel good today! Hope the weekend goes to plan!
Never mind @hollyblueivy you’ll pull it back. You’ve been doing so well and enjoying life!
Haven’t weighed here. Will tomorrow. nervous after my crazy day on Wednesday. Still full from it tbh! Seeing friends this weekend. Should be able to stay on plan though. Might try the no sugar when kids go back to school. Will limit as much as can until then!

hollyblueivy · 23/08/2024 08:30

@Smartmove Well done, 5lb off in a week is fantastic and shows you can do it! What were your key actions this week to get such a great loss? Was it mostly low calorie days? Only a couple to get to your next goal of 10:3 - totally doable.

@Bubbles44 It's strange that full up feeling that lingers isn't it, I don't like feeling full (like really full to bursting) anymore. Whereas is the past I could continue eating if my meal wasn't finished, or if I was at a buffet or all you can eat type place. I've definitely learned something there.

10:9:3 today - less than half on since yesterday so I'll take that as a win considering the wine consumption. I can't believe I did that, never mid week drink anymore. That's another habit that has changed. I drink most weekends still but not every day of the weekend and hardly ever during the week week so overall consumption has dramatically decreased. One of the best improvements to my new lifestyle. I may put a little list together of these non scale type victories as a reflection of progress and to remind myself it's not all about the number on the scale.

Yes I've waffled on a post again. Not very good at short updates!

OP posts:
Smartmove · 23/08/2024 12:16

@hollyblueivy its mainly water this week! I indulged a lot last month and this was first full week back on plan for ages. It’s now going to slow down. If I’m lucky I’ll loose 1/2 this week max. I need to stay focussed over the weekend and not loose my way. We just with family so not a holiday

I did one longer fast than usual and my cals over the week have averaged to 1200

im having a full day today so hoping to hit 1000 as I know I’ll go over being away

hollyblueivy · 24/08/2024 06:40

Oops I didn't it again.

Worse this time.

Yesterday had more wine. Take away. Small cafe lunch. Snacky snacks.

I don't think it's self sabotage. I think it's just being a bank holiday weekend.

I now have dinners out and family celebrations so will just do the best I can whilst going easy on myself that weight loss isn't linear. It's going to go up and then I'll make it come back down again.

OP posts:
hollyblueivy · 24/08/2024 13:20

Checking in for today at 10:9:5. I was 10:9:3 last Saturday so broadly a maintain this week. Given my mishaps I'm very pleased with that.

Had a bacon and egg roll for brunch and then won't eat again now until dinner. After dining the last couple of nights there is thankfully no desire to drink today or tomorrow. Sweet treats are likely though.

Managed to get to the gym three times this week so happy with that too.

OP posts:
Smartmove · 24/08/2024 20:35

Checking in
went off rails today

brekkie fine - lattee
lunch fine - chicken avacado
dinner - curry out: had naan curry and icecream. Also 1 cocktails. Then icecream

will be back on tmrw! But it’s hard with family around. Plan is mainly black coffees (I add tablespoon of milk). Yoghurt brekkie. Protein bar lunch whilst out. Dinner healthy!

Bubbles44 · 25/08/2024 07:21

Not going great here. This happened after my last holiday. Good couple of days then it goes down hill. I know it will click again I just need to keep up the good intentions! Wasn’t going to weigh but knew I needed to. Hope it will prompt me to sort myself out! Back to 10.2!! Run this morning and a big walk planned with family today!

hollyblueivy · 25/08/2024 07:41

Well done for checking in even though things aren't going 100% to plan. I find this with any habit, if you stop for a bit, getting back into it more difficult than just keeping the consistency going. That's not realistic with life though so I guess this is actually normal. It's going to the gym for me, think I am back into my flow though and enjoying it again.

10:11:7 - 2.2lb on from yesterday although it's really the last few days catching up with me. I'm ok with it as I think overall during the holidays I haven't done too badly, so whatever happens over the next week or so, it should be ok to sort once the schools are back and routine it restored.

I'll still plan out my days so the good intentions are set, but I'm ok with deviating slightly from it if that's how the day goes.

Today
Need some movement but may be a walk rather than gym.
Coffee / water.
No breakfast, light lunch. (Egg on toast maybe)
Dinner is steak, sweet potato and salad.
No more alcohol this weekend.

Try to avoid sweet treats - that's where it could go wrong.

OP posts:
Bubbles44 · 25/08/2024 13:42

Yes I keep reminding myself of the positives of the holidays. It’s such a lovely break from routine. Of course things aren’t perfect. But we’ve all tried to be as mindful as possible. I’m going to try and be on it from now. It makes me tired eating rubbish, genuinely feel so much better eating good, clean food!
So far so good today. Hope it’s a good day for everyone!

Bubbles44 · 26/08/2024 08:59

10.1. Try and fast for as long as possible today!
