Hi, wondering if I could join please? I lost 4 stone last year with intermittent fasting. Have gained 8 pounds since November, but lost 4 of those in the last fortnight doing OMAD, after going overboard with the Easter chocolate 😳

SW 14.10
CW 10.11
GW 9.10

I am 44 and 5'7.

Smartmove · 09/04/2024 10:31

Welcome @Snappyfaceohwell please join! We would love more people on here!

wow well done on your loss that’s amazing.
im 5ft 6 and currently 10.7.2 and have a goal of 10.3 atm

I wish I could omad but I get hungry! I fast 16 hours most days but have 3 small meals

Snappyfaceohwell · 09/04/2024 10:53

I do find OMAD fine after the first week. I still get hungry but I generally find it easier to abstain, I'm such an all or nothing person. I have started this week doing 5.2 in addition to OMAD, but the day after I do a sorter fast if 18 hours and then I have 3 meals. I am still sensible but plan on saving my treats for these days.

I have strayed drinking my coffees black now, that has been really hard to get used to but the weight is shifting back down at last!

How is everyone's weeks going so far?

Smartmove · 09/04/2024 11:34

@Snappyfaceohwell yes I usually have my coffees black too now. I occasionally treat myself with a splash of milk! 🙈

anther all or nothing person here. Hoping once I get to goal I can address that. I’m sure I should be doing it other way around but I’m impatient!

Snappyfaceohwell · 09/04/2024 12:32

@Smartmove

If I start my eating window early, like today, I enjoy a tablespoon of double cream in my filter coffee. Heaven!

Today I had/will have:

Peanut butter in sourdough toast
Homemade protein pancakes with Greek yogurt and berries
Mini Easter egg (my daughter is not that keen on chocolate - not like me)
Chicken and broccoli gnocchi
Dark chocolate
A few cups of tea with milk

Will close my window around 5pm and will do a 22 hour fast until tomorrow where I will continue with OMAD.

Gym later for some weightlifting 🏋️

Got some runners here too? I run 3 x a week and really enjoy.

I want to do a 36 hour fast Thursday. Never been over 24 hours before so am a bit scared!! But Thursday is a busy day with gym, office and a night class so a good day for it as I will be nonstop.

jelly79 · 09/04/2024 12:41

@hollyblueivy yay to being in the 19's

I'm waiting a week or 2 to weigh and I might not then

I've just broke my fast 3 bacon, 3 eggs, cherry tomatoes
Kefir, blueberries and seeds

Tonight is chicken curry (jacket potato will be depending on hunger levels) x

jelly79 · 09/04/2024 12:42

Hahahaha the 10s not the 19s! That would be a whole other thread x

Smartmove · 09/04/2024 17:31

I just ate half an Easter egg 🥚
crap.

they def all gone now though!

Snappyfaceohwell · 09/04/2024 21:02

@Smartmove

At least they are gone no more temptation!

I really struggle having chocolate in the house I bloody love it 😍

jelly79 · 10/04/2024 09:42

@Smartmove I feel your pain as a fellow chocolate lover.

We have about 15 eggs here and some amazing ones. And all of the associated chocolate bars etc!

Day 3 of no chocolate / bread!

HIIT ✔️
4K run ✔️

Plan today

Porridge (maybe)
Yoghurt and berries
Chicken breast / salad

Need to push on the morning fast

Snappyfaceohwell · 10/04/2024 12:39

I am

Back at work today after Easter break. I had a couple of extra days in the end as my daughter has chicken pox! She's fine just itchy bless her. Much easier to fast when working, for me at least.

My window opens 1.30 and I will have peanut butter on sourdough with a banana. After my last meeting I will finish my leftover chicken and broccoli gnocchi, then some dark chocolate and a cup of tea with whole milk. Then some until Friday AM 😨

Well done on the HIIT! I am going running after work with my club.

Weighing Friday 🤞

jelly79 · 10/04/2024 14:32

@Snappyfaceohwell oh your food sounds lovely!

PB on sourdough with banana is my fave!!

I am messaging now to stay straight as I am a bit bored with work and starting to get nibbly but I am not actually hungry!!

Fasted till 12
2 chicken breast with coleslaw and rocket
Greek yoghurt / kefir and blueberries with choc protein powder
Tangerine

Writing this has made me realise I don't need food!

Cup of tea will do!!

jelly79 · 10/04/2024 20:55

Kitchen closed

12 - chicken, rocket and coleslaw
3 tangerines
4 crackers and humus
Yoghurt and berries
Small bowl of Scouse

Mini cake pop (I couldn't say no because my DS made it for me)

In bed now and we go again tomorrow

hollyblueivy · 10/04/2024 22:01

@Snappyfaceohwell welcome along and well done on your weight loss so far. Do you run for fitness or are you in training for an event?

I was 10:11:7 today. Had a good workout but ate loads of pasta for dinner. I can't do just a small portion of pasta, it has to be a mountain. May see a gain tomorrow.

Food plan tomorrow
Greek yogurt with apple for breakfast if I'm hungry
Lamb soup for lunch
Omelette for dinner
Will try to eat light and include lots of protein

Not sure if I'll get a workout in tomorrow but would like to if I get time.

jelly79 · 11/04/2024 07:07

Morning!!

No workout today and I am juggling work and childcare.

Will fast as long as possible
Eggs and fish on the menu today
Greek yoghurt and blueberries for sweet treats

Need lots of water! This is what I am lacking!

Smartmove · 11/04/2024 07:35

Morning all.
im 10.8 today which has annoyed me. I was thinking about it and basically took the foot of the pedal. I’ve def consumed 200-300 cals more a day once I got my 10.7 on the scale (kids toast / yest was a fish finger etc etc plus the choc). I really have to only stick to the food I’ve planned and ignore all other.

this is hard!!!!! I won’t make 10.6 on sat but even if I’m back to 10.7 I’ll take it. I’ve planned my meal for today and hopefully it’s low enough.

puriton shake
ham and tomato snack
salmon avacado salad
mozarella mushrooms
its 1000 cals and 50 carbs so 🤞🤞

Smartmove · 11/04/2024 07:41

I had a look my average cals is 1450 since Monday and my carbs are 130g. And 1 HIT workout in that time for 30 mins.
The carbs need dropping for me to loose and need to get strict on the IF hours again.

Bubbles44 · 11/04/2024 08:02

Hello! I’ve been watching this thread for a while and would love to join in to try and keep me on track!
I’m currently 10.1 after Easter indulgence, trying to get to 9.7. Got there last year but struggling to get back there. I gave up alcohol which definitely helped. My biggest problem is chocolate and cake. Once I start I can’t stop. Really need to work on that mentality! Guess it’s years and years of diet brain!
I do 4 24 hour clean fasts a week and lots of running and walking! These last few pounds are hard work. Hoping this group will motivate me! Really need to go sugar free but I really am addicted. Im definitely all or nothing too which is why fasting works well for me when I’m in the right frame of mind!
Seems like you guys are all in a great space at the moment. Hope I can be too!

hollyblueivy · 11/04/2024 08:11

@Bubbles44 You're most welcome around here and good to have you on board!

4 clean 24 hour fasts per week. Wow. How did you build up to that? Do you exercise also?

I'm 10:13:2 again today - thanks pasta!

Bubbles44 · 11/04/2024 08:35

Hello! I find the long fasts ok. I just don’t take food to work with me so I know it isn’t an option. I drink a few black coffees and lots of water. Harder in the holidays and out of routine though which is where I always struggle.Yes I do lots of walking and run 4 days a week. Just don’t know how to break the emotional eating! It’s the hardest part! I like the accountability of this group. I’ve never done anything like this before so hope it helps!

Smartmove · 11/04/2024 09:38

Welcome @Bubbles44
im the same. This week a small bit of choc ended up half an egg (would have been more but it was all gone then!!!) I need to work on this too but also just want these last few pounds off…
gosh clean fasts that’s amazing! And so many!!! I would be going insane!!!

@hollyblueivy its so hard!!! I can’t bel how hard it is to loose weight!!!! I wish I had done this in my 30s! Thought it was hard back then

sipping my Puriton shake. Only my 3 meals to pass my mouth today!

Smartmove · 11/04/2024 13:00

All going to plan today
and also not starving which also helps. Really had more protein today which should help keep me on track too. Next meal 5pm
then fasting!

Bubbles44 · 11/04/2024 17:53

Hope you managed to stick to that @Smartmove ! Hope everyone else has had a good day before the weekend carnage begins!
I’ve had a good day. Broke at 4pm with a big bowl of berries, nuts and seeds with kefir. Some dark chocolate and Greek yogurt and more nuts. Had 3 cups of tea in that time too. Full now, still still feeling it from all of the Easter treats yesterday!
I find the clean fast fine. I think it’s a case of I’m either eating or not. I listen to gin Stephens podcasts and she is a big believer in the clean fast. She says that having a bit of milk or sweetener tricks our body into thinking it is going to get food so makes the fast harder. I’ve only ever done it clean so can’t compare. I always find it hard around 16 hours once I push through that it’s ok.

Snappyfaceohwell · 11/04/2024 18:58

Welcome @Bubbles44! I find clean fasting fine, very much I am eating or I am not 😂

I am 27.5 hours into my 36 hour fast. Feeling really good! Hunger coming in waves but it passes. Rooibos tea and sparkling water getting me through.

Everyone seems to be doing well so far today!

@hollyblueivy I run for fun but I have booked to do a half marathon in June. Looking forward! Do you have any races coming up?

Smartmove · 11/04/2024 19:16

All went to plan
awful day at work though and want wine to relax but instead with complain to DH and hope I sleep coz feeling very stressed!
