I’ve done this before during lockdown and got down to a decent weight but slowly gone back up. I keep starting and then doing well and then self sabtogage and gain it all. It’s such a problem. So I’m taking it 1 week at a time. And writing on here to keep me on straight and narrow

day 1
weight 11.6 . Bmi 25.5
goal weight 10.8

this is post 4 days of self sabotage so should come off very quickly I was 11.1 4 days ago so should be water. And then will start slowing down

today plan
brocolli and Stilton soup at 11ish
feta stuffed chicken with a side salad of leaves and avacado at 4ish

I can do this. I usually eat 3 small meals but I ate so much last night I’m not hungry!

Yay!! You got your goal a day early, well done!

Have a good last day today before your time away and enjoy some of the dinners on offer.

Are they meals out where you can make some swaps for salad from chips or melas at home with family? If you're serving yourself, you could put the veg / salad on first, filling a decent portion of your plate, leaving a small amount of room for the main part of the dinner.

It's difficult to get into the right mindset between whoooaaahhh holiday I'll eat everything in sight and keeping a little on track so you don't have so much work to do when you get back. I slip too easily into the first category and often that's just for a weekend!

I'm 10:7:7 today - actually pleased with that given the first number is a 7 rather than 8 or 9.

The goal remains at 10:7 and I'll see what I can do for next Friday.

Planning to do a decent amount of exercise over the next week see if that helps.

Wow well done to both of you! Great goals achieved!!

I weighed at 10s 7.2 yesterday! I weighed a day early because it was my birthday and I wanted to be care free! Pastries, bbq and donuts! I have a meal out tonight and tomorrow so I will try not to write off the whole weekend / week!

Hi Smartmove and Holly, I have followed your thread for a while now and you have both really motivated me. I have lost 12 pounds but really need to shift another 12. I found switching to fasting 16:4 really worked for me. Like many people i was told never to skip breakfast but now i know different!
Just wanted some advise please, i have been so strict and losing small but often but last night craved a normal meal and had a small bowl of spag bol. I was horrified to find that this morning i have a 2lb gain which is the first gain in ages. It has played tricks with my brain and i have been sitting here thinking every normal meal i eat will result in the same! I know it is irrational but wanted to see if i was alone in this way of thinking! Thanks

@hollyblueivy well done that’s fab!! I find that the hardest thing. If I didn’t have the attitude of f it on holidays and weekend I would be where I needed to be. I’m going to have change that drastically for Maintence

@whathappened well done on ur loss! It’s though isn’t it!!! I think it’s normal when u eat to accept gain. Some of it will be actual food transit and some will be glycogen stores filling in ur liver again and water that goes with that. It won’t be “fat” gain. Get to ur goal and then accept if u go back to sensible eating but not “dieting” u will go up 3/4 pounds

which is why my original goal was 10.8 on starting this thread but I think I’ll go for 10.4 so I have that leeway when I start eating normally? I certainly can’t diet for the rest of my life!!!

also I’m thinking more excercise will help maintain!

With my trip I’m planning to check in with u guys daily and document my gains / STS. I find being accountable really helpful

watch my calories when home / minimal eating

and let hair down only on the 3/4 meals I have put

no need to eat an ice cream or choc bar at home for no reason other than greed!!!

You've done well with your loss so far. What kind of hours do you eat from and to and how many calories in that time? Are you on two meals per day?

@Smartmove has explained it much better than I could.

Just having 2 light meals a day and a few snacks. finish at 7pm and restart at 1pm. I have been really surprised how quickly i got used to it! I think you are right that we have to keep remembering how much we have lost and i need to realise i will not lose every week! Holiday next week and aiming to have a few naughty days. Thank you so much for this thread, it has really helped. Have a lovely weekend all.

The gain has begun. I ended up having some left over pie yest I made for kids so prob ended on 1600!

am 10.11 today. Waaaa! Planning on skipping brekkie. Lunch at 11 before we leave for long journey and then having dinner no wine no pudding tonight. About to do a HIT. Will check in daily but fully expecting a 4/5 pound rise. Back next sat and seeing myself a goal of being back to 10.10 7th sept

then try very hard for a pound loss a week so 10.7 by end of sept.

Stick with your plan as best you can while away and we will all encourage you to get things on track when you're home! Make a few good choices where you can as damage limitation.

I've not eaten well the last couple of days but weighed yesterday and today at 10:7:5 - I'm expecting a couple or a few on in the next day to so as food and drink is on the agenda today.

Yest was a total disaster. Gin wine ice cream takeaway. Forgot to weigh and drink a lot will weigh tmrw. Expecting a huge rise :(

going to try fast till as late as possible (but will allow milky coffee) and then out for dinner but it’s sushi at least…

Anyone else craving routine and getting back to a fresh start in sept?

I have started fasting today. It worked for me and I haven't really been IF for weeks now!

8 weeks to go for my holiday! Surely if I do 16:8 for that time or 6/7 days a week I can lose 7-10ks???

Fasted until 1 as I was out for dinner tonight

Bbq pork steak salad
Mackerel pate
Dinner tonight was Edamame beans, Thai beef salad
BUT some chips, a cookie dessert and some biscuits today

@jelly79 you're maintaining well and you could do half a stone by holiday if you got for a pound off per week. Is that roughly your plan?

Agree ready to get cracking into September and normal routine to return.

@Smartmove are you back from being away now? Hope you had a good week and enjoyed the food and drink that you had. What's your general plan - bit of a reset week?

I'm 10:7:3 today - think if I eat light today I could see 10:7 on the scales tomorrow.
