I am on day two.

Inspired by the accountability thread I am.going to document my progress.

I am eating the same meals today and yesterday

Roasted vegetables and tuna for lunch with chilli oil. I find the spice fills me up.

Supper is an omelette with roasted vegetables

100 calories of fruit berries or apple each day

Lots of water.

Lots of black coffee in the morning

I am feeling a bit weak.today

Trousers feel looser.

Wishing you good luck veryactually! It's tough at the start, but if you get into a routine, it's half the battle.

Crazycrazylady · 22/08/2021 21:41

Hi
I'm just finished day 1 too..
skipped breakfast cause I slept in and had 2 poached eggs on a slimbo.
Dinner was 2 slices roast chicken with some boiled veg

Feel ok now but was hungry earlier on.
Im going to try and combine it with 16.8 as I'm never really hungry in the mornings

Can't wait to see the scales come down though . Would love to loose 7ib in the two weeks!

LittleSF · 24/08/2021 12:03

Hi there, just wondering how you guys are getting on? I started yesterday with the online programme, I used the supermarket click and collect to order everything on the shopping list and have really enjoyed the meals so far. I have at least 30lbs to lose before an event in mid-October. Somehow this morning I was 4lbs down!

Would love to hear how you're all getting on.

Crazycrazylady · 24/08/2021 12:20

Welcome

I'm on day 3 so very early days for me to offer any advice but seems to be going ok. I'm doing it over two meals ( basically skipping breakfast) and just having lunch and dinner of 400 calories each
Not finding it too hard yet but I am bit headachy from sugar withdrawal as basically I'm very precious about what I eat when it's only 800 so I'm cutting out sugar by default.. I have cravings at night but hopefully these will get better over the next few days..
Will weigh myself weekly to check progress Confused

ToffeeNotCoffee · 24/08/2021 12:29

I got the Fast 800 book and recipe book (red recipe book fwiw, there's a blue Fast 800 recipe book too)

I started by just following the recipes which are nice. I'm not that strict about 800 calories per day. For me it's more like 1200 calories per day. I have lost a stone since 19 June. Not a quick or dramatic weight loss but I'm glad never the less.

I've cut out bread, potatoes, pasta and rice. 'Stodge' as it was called in the 1970's diet industry ! Full circle much ?

I did get advice from my Dr about starting the diet. He requested I have a blood pressure test and a blood test, which I did. All good.

I've still got quite a lot of weight to lose so I will continue with it. Only supposed to do it for 12 weeks, however as I've not been that strict should I continue on for the foreseeable future ?

Ruralbliss · 24/08/2021 12:38

I'm doing it too! After weeks of telling itself I would. Needed to get holidays done first.

Day 2 here and enjoyed overnight oats for late 11am brunch.

Leftover Ratatouille and Halloumi bake for dinner with salad leaves.

Drank a lot of water, herbal teas yesterday

I'm too fearful to step on scales or take measurements just yet so hoping a couple of weeks of adjusted eating will make clothes feel baggier then I'll be able to see what the numbers are.

Aiming to be on it until early December (12 weeks from now)

The recipes in the Fast 800 book look really tasty but the trick will be to not eat more than one portion when serving up.

I've written ingredients of the meals I plan to cook onto index cards to take to supermarket with me so I can make sure I don't forget to buy anything.

ToffeeNotCoffee · 24/08/2021 13:36

I take a photo of the recipe on my phone so I can consult that when I'm shopping and don't forget anything.

LittleSF · 24/08/2021 13:52

Given that I’ve put the last stone on very quickly over the past few weeks I’m hoping that I’ll lose them just as quickly. I was stress/binge eating and then went on holidays. I‘ve managed to give up the sweetener in my coffee which is a huge thing for me. I got some sparkly water to drink and put it in a carafe with sliced lemon - I really struggle to drink water.

The event we have in October has been postponed so many times due to Covid, I have five or six possible dresses to wear and right now, none of them would fit. So am very motivated. It’s £100 for the 12 week online programme which is a lot but the first week is free so I get to see the initial results.

I managed a 30 minute walk today and I have the Jillian Michaels app and did my first workout in forever (I’m an app junkie, can you tell Smile ) and feeling great. Sunshine definitely helps.

ToffeeNotCoffee · 24/08/2021 14:13

Nice one. You're really motivated.

Good luck.

Ruralbliss · 25/08/2021 08:54

I'm motivated by seeing people I haven't seen in ages too.
I also want to fit back in my work wardrobe when we all return to the office

I had to buy loads of new clothes for holiday as had outgrown everything I own.

Didn't manage to stick entirely to plan yesterday but hugely better than my non-diet eating. I nearly caved in at bedtime as felt really hungry but took myself to bed without raiding the fridge and have woke up not at all hungry. I never am in the morning.

I recorded cals on a new app called Lifesum as MyFitness pal was broken & not allowing me to add a new meal.
I find the interface of Lifesum much simpler and less 'busy' (confusing).

Love the sparkling water tip.

I've always struggled to drink enough but find if I have water in a sucky bottle (integral straw) I drink and drink and drink.
I've added a touch of lime juice

The ratatouille & Halloumi bake was sooooo delicious it's now in my top ten recipes to make. I had it with salad.

Overnight oats with oat milk, grated apple, mixed seeds & blueberries will be lunch today with ginger & chilli baked fish for dinner served with (baked) broccoli & mangetout.

Will take dog out for long walk & use lunch slot to do a weight workout.

I'm moving house shortly & the new house is near a local authority swimming pool/gym open 7am to 10pm so looking forward to joining & going there.

Have a good day all.
Come here if you are struggling.

LittleSF · 25/08/2021 09:41

Morning all. Despite not getting a great sleep I woke up full of fizz this morning. Managed to get a walk in already - popped into Lidl to stock up on asparagus to have with my poached eggs this morning. Going to try to do a workout before that.

Had beef stroganoff from the online programme for dinner last night, it was so nice. Having it again for lunch and then it's a dahl for dinner tonight. Have lots of sparkling water to keep me going. And black coffee of course!

Have a lovely day everyone.

glomerulus · 25/08/2021 10:19

Morning - is there room for one more? I'm on day three and going well so far, hoping to do 4 weeks to start with then see if I want to keep going or switch to 5:2. Just using the recipe book and not really calorie counting, loving the meals so far but keep salivating when I serve carbs to the DC Confused

@LittleSF are you enjoying the online programme? I must say the automated shopping lists look handy but would be interested to know if there's more useful stuff worth signing up for?

@Ruralbliss the halloumi bake is on the list for later this week - glad to hear it's a good one! For main meals this week I've done the prawn nasi goreng and the easy chicken tagine, which were both delicious and filling! Got leftovers of the tagine for lunch.

Hope everyone is doing well, this feels like the thing I need to get my weight sorted so hoping for some good results!

LittleSF · 25/08/2021 11:12

@glomerulus really enjoying the online programme. You can sign up for free for the first week to see if you get anything from it. It’s the recipes and food plan/shopping list that I get the most out of. Not missing carbs at all yet. Being able to just print off the list, put it into the supermarket website and get everything delivered is such a plus.

First two days and I’m 5lbs down - a lot of that is obviously water weight and I’m definitely drinking more water (and burning oh so many calories into the bathroom all the time) to make up for that. Leftover stroganoff for lunch, then it’s the spinach lentil dahl for dinner. Just how much will I miss having some naan or rice with that??

Ruralbliss · 25/08/2021 12:56

Oh poo. Have just been invited to my mums for an Indian take away with the kids tonight. Am thinking chicken tikka from starter menu is best choice & sitting on my hands when I see everyone else's sauces and naans.

Or eat my dinner before I go and not have any that could also work.

LittleSF · 25/08/2021 12:57

Would you have time to make the spinach and lentil dahl to bring with you?
Ruralbliss · 25/08/2021 13:18

Genius. I'll make my Fast800 dinner and take it with me! I hadn't thought of that.

ToffeeNotCoffee · 25/08/2021 13:33

Make more than one portion ! If the rest of the family see it they may want some.

glomerulus · 25/08/2021 18:20

I hope the lentil dahl goes down well! It's hard when meals out/with others come up, I've got a meal out in a couple of weeks and just hoping I can get by with a healthy-ish option and not let it derail the rest of the programme.

5lbs in two days is fabulous! Well done, I might go for a mid-week weigh-in tomorrow. I'm feeling less ravenously hungry today and the carb cravings are subsiding a bit. Pork loin and apple with creme fraiche for dinner tonight.

Ruralbliss · 26/08/2021 08:54

I didn't manage to get any special replacement cooked as finished work late. I chose wisely with the tandoori mixed grill - had the few chunks of chicken, lamb and king prawn with the salad it came with, gave the kofte kebab sausagey thing to someone and now have a quarter of tandoori chicken for dinner today.

Managed not to hoover up left overs of all the others which was my usual habit.

Lifesum app predicts I've got a year to achieve goal weight if I lose 1.5lbs a week. This is a shock and means I need to not beat myself up when I stick less rigidly to the plan and give myself credit for developing sustainable eating habits (no sugar, low carb, no booze, no cheese etc etc)

glomerulus · 26/08/2021 09:02

That's brilliant @Ruralbliss, I'm not sure how I would have coped with the temptation of a takeaway in the first week so you've done great. You're right not to beat yourself up as this is a long term thing, and I know if I fixate on perfection then I'm far more likely to throw the towel in altogether.

Mid-week weigh-in today and on the morning of day 4 I'm 2.4kg/5lbs down, which I'm pretty happy with! Certainly spurs me on until my next weigh in on Monday. Plan for today is pesto beans and Parma ham for lunch, then halloumi ratatouille for dinner, which I'm looking forward to after the reports on here!

Hope everyone is doing well.

Ruralbliss · 26/08/2021 19:23

Made the lime chilli ginger baked fish very tasty & super quick.

Roasted broccoli is about a zillion times nicer than boiled or steamed. TikTok tonight

Fast 800
glomerulus · 26/08/2021 22:23

Looks delicious! The halloumi ratatouille was equally tasty, although the hunger pangs have hit again today. Hoping it should settle in a couple of days, as ketosis should start kicking in around now shouldn't it?

LittleSF · 27/08/2021 07:52

Morning all, have had such a rough night. Smoke alarm started beeping at ten to five this morning and I’ve only had five hours sleep. Rest of household is sleeping through it so I didn’t see the point in waking them. Resisted urge to go downstairs so listened to an audio book in bed instead. Finally up and it’s straight into the coffee, I usually wait a while but it’s necessary.

Had the chicken stir fry yesterday which was amazing, favourite thing I’ve made so far. Looking forward to doing it again for lunch today (I would usually make extra portions when it’s lunch the next day but I don’t find stir fry works as leftovers).

Have switched out pancetta and pumpkin soup for tonight’s dinner as it’s Friday and if I serve up soup for dinner I’ll be murdered! Especially as it’s so warm right now. I’ll make it for lunch tomorrow though. Having pancetta and feta with courgette noodles instead, other half can have some carbs with it if he wants.

Not starving which is surprising. I do look forward to my meals very much though. I keep going to reach for some fruit or cheese as a healthy snack but have resisted so far. Thought I’d be more frustrated about not drinking this weekend but then it is very early, maybe by 6pm I’ll be craving my Friday night g&t.

Coffee awaits, might as well login to work early and hopefully can finish up early then. Son has asked for Domino’s pizza as a treat given it’s the last Friday of summer holidays. I don’t usually get one myself but I’d usually nibble away on the crusts he doesn’t want. Not tonight!!

I’ve ordered some of those sticks to check ketosis, hopefully there in next few days or so.

Crazycrazylady · 27/08/2021 11:25

Day 6 for me today and a bit hungry now.. lost 5 pounds so far though so all motivated to keep going.. Smilefind it easy to stick to at work but nervous about the weekend now especially as I'm out and about with kids activities etc ..

yours dinners sound lovely . I need to up my game a bit there I think!

Ruralbliss · 27/08/2021 14:14

Oh no @LittleSF that sounds like a challenging start to the day. Sorry to hear that.

I'm going off plan later as taking dinner to a post operative friend but going to be mindful of calories and portion sizes which I wouldn't have been in the past.

I'll try to use less oil and serve less rice for me plus use less of the (delicious) satay sauce. And call that a win if I can stick to those guidelines.

Still remembering that this is likely to be a year long marathon rather than a short fast sprint so need to be able to flex and not give up or start binge eating

I had left over cold gingery cod with salad 🥗 for lunch which was surprisingly nice. We have cold tuna so I guess why not white fish?

Am drinking loads of water instead of reaching for biccies and crisps so this is good.
