@Lilice I don’t plan on FDs. I have a few stock favourites that I choose from. I skip breakfast, eat up to 100 cals at lunch so either a salad or a banana or a whole pack of king prawns with lettuce and lemon juice. Dinner then around 400 so either shakshuka, an omelette, a piece of salmon with veg, a small jacket potato with cottage cheese and salad or beans.

Benjispruce2 · 10/03/2021 17:19

A chicken casserole is filling and quite low cal if you have it just with veg or a small spoon of carbs.

KobaniDaughters · 10/03/2021 17:49

@Lilice yes apparently, my ceramics never discoloured so I guess it worked?

MazDazzle · 10/03/2021 18:34

NFD for me, but trying to keep my cals down. Had courgette soup with an oatcake for lunch and roast veg with halloumi for dinner.

I did some batch cooking at the weekend, including a big tray of roast veg. It’s been so handy! There’s not the same temptation to get a takeaway when there’s food prepared.

KylieKoKo · 10/03/2021 18:58

@Lilice I had them raw today but sometimes cook them in a stir fry.

My dinner was nice but I'd like to eat more. I have enough calories left for a boiled egg but I'm trying to hold off so I can have closer to bed time so I can sleep better.

ilovebagpuss · 10/03/2021 20:07

Completed my day probably came in about 600/700 as I had a decent portion of ragu for Dinner.
Looking forward to some porridge for breakfast!

Hi there @CycleGirl20
There is a dedicated fast800 thread
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/fasting_diet/4063831-blood-sugar-diet-fast-800-thread-22
that has people who are used to working with that variant so may have better advice than us

She’ll be delighted! So happy for her.

I’ve signed up to an online workout challenge. I’m supposed to do it twice a week, but I just don’t have the motivation.

Lilice · 10/03/2021 23:20

I finished on 473 tonight. I had rubbish food, not proud of myself. I'll have to male more of an effort next week, and plan ahead. My husband is also on the 5 2 so maybe ill ask him to make my food. I cant wait to weigh myself tomorrow 🤞🤞🤞

KobaniDaughters · 11/03/2021 00:05

Ugh I’m in binge mode, moving to 4:3 next week I think or at least an extra semi day

Benjispruce2 · 11/03/2021 07:11

Well, bit of a revelation. FD today but just hopped on scales to see if there would be a difference between today and tomorrow after my plateau and gain. I’m at my lowest yet!!! 9st 9 exactly. So the 3lb gained plus 0.5lb extra off and I haven’t done my FD yet. That’s the whoosh and boost I needed as was starting to lose heart( yes I know I’m impatient) and feel fed up.I guess my body held on just to check I really meant to lose it.Grin
Good luck Thursday fasters!

MazDazzle · 11/03/2021 08:13

Well done Benji! That’s a great scale victory.

In a way Kobani, the FDs are easy. It’s getting on top of the NFDs that’s tough.

I’ve worked out there’s 7 weeks until my birthday. I’m determined to lose what I can between now and then. I’m currently 11lbs up from pre-Christmas weight Blush. Lockdown has not been kind. My face is grey and bloated. I’m usually so active at work, but at home I spend hours in front of a laptop. Between juggling that and homeschooling, I barely move!

I have my zoom PT session this morning, so that’ll get the blood pumping.

Good luck today everyone!

Lilice · 11/03/2021 09:15

That's amazing @Benjispruce2 well done!!!

I'm absolutely gutted. I weighed myself this morning, after 2 weeks, and I've lost 100 g!!!! It's a joke right? Even an aubergine is heavier than 100g. Im gutted, I feel like I'm starving myself on diet days, and for nothing. I exercise 6 times a week, 50 minutes of cardio. My husband said that im building muscle and that's why I'm not losing. He says I do look slimmer. I don't think that's the way it works, surely if I eat less I should lose weight regardless of exercise. I mean, exercise shouldn't prevent me from losing weight, right??? Now I'm hoping it's because I was still breastfeeding and now that I've stopped my hormones will get back to normal. I won't be weighing myself again for a while because this is too disheartening.

KylieKoKo · 11/03/2021 09:33

@Lilice

Are you measuring yourself with a tape measure? If you're building muscle then your measurements can go down even if your weight doesn't. (I really should take this advice as I am doing a lot of strength stuff at the moment).

Also, my weight fluctuates loads and week on week I feel like I gain more than I lose but I can see a downward trend on a graph and I'm a stone down from my peak weight.

Lilice · 11/03/2021 09:39

@KylieKoKo no im not measuring myself. Im thinking I should cut down the exercise, but it seems crazy. How long did it take you to lose a stone?

20FlowerPower · 11/03/2021 09:44

Checking in for a Thursday FD

KylieKoKo · 11/03/2021 09:46

@Lilice

I lost almost a stone in about 11 weeks but then I had a month off over Xmas and put some back on. I've since lost it again and a bit more. I think I average around a pound a week when I don't gorge myself on NFDs but my weight fluctuates loads.

ginsparkles · 11/03/2021 09:57

Morning all, checking in for my first fast day of the week. Feels odd as I've usually done at least one by this point!!! Anyway day all planned so here we go!

And big Yay! For @Benjispruce2 !!! Well done you Smile

Lilice · 11/03/2021 10:11

That's really good @KylieKoKo it seems to be working really well for you. I'm just going to have to keep going because I don't know what else to do. Maybe I should add a third FD 🤔

KylieKoKo · 11/03/2021 10:11

Amazing news @Benjispruce2

KylieKoKo · 11/03/2021 10:14

I don't think I could handle 3 in a week @Lilice!

The main thing that stops my weight loss is crisps wine and takeaway on NFDs. As well as skipping excercise. I guess that's not surprising!

Lilice · 11/03/2021 10:52

I dont think I could handle 3 either @KylieKoKo , I would probably turn into a witch. I don't drink much alcohol. I do have non alcohol beers quite regularly. I will stop those and see if it makes any difference. Looking back, I did have my birthday last week and had chocolate cake and a lot of sushis.

MazDazzle · 11/03/2021 11:46

@Lilice have you worked out your TDEE (select at least one level down for activity level, or better still set it to sedentary)?

I’d try tracking calories every NFD and weighing everything.
