@oblomov18 where did you find that recipe? Because it's in colour and in UK measurements it means I'll be able to actually understand it 😂

Oblomov18 · 31/03/2018 15:57

Legend, actually, bit embarrassing but it's a daily mail link:
BSDweek2
A long time ago, when I first found out about BSD, I googled every article I could find about MM.
If you scroll down, it has a week's diary and I liked the colour pictures And I printed off, so I could decide which of the 4 weeks recipes I liked and which ones I didn't like.

Oblomov I love that! I have a 10 simple steps thing stuck inside my cupboard, also from the daily mail pull out!

I’ve just made a sort of almond flour, sugar free, peanut butter and cherries ‘cake’ (note the inverted commas) as I’ve got terrible munchies and keep finding myself in the fridge. It looks lovely, but we’ll see if it lives up to its promises.

I’m probably way over on calories already today, and as I haven’t weighed anything or written it down then that seems likely to continue, so I need to just give myself a bit of a talking too or it could all go terribly off piste!

@oblomov18 thank you so much for that pic 😘😘😘

APlaceAtTheBSDTable · 01/04/2018 02:39

bear I want cherry cake now. I'm definitely going to pop some cherries in my basket next time I'm shopping.
I've been eating well but too much. I had a lovely goat's cheese and walnut salad today. It's always easier to eat salad when the days are lighter.
Have a lovely holiday weekend everyone Easter Smile

thenewaveragebear1983 · 01/04/2018 07:51

Place the cherry cake needed work. Too much bicarb for a start! It’s got potential though..... I do love cherries though, I buy the bags of frozen ones and have them in my yoghurt.

1st April weigh in: 11.1.6
Can’t remember exactly what I weighed on 1st March but I think I’ve lost about 7lb in March all in, and a total loss of 1st 4.5lb. That’s pretty good for the month I’ve had- lots of yoyoing about, a few days totally off plan, a few completely on track and angelic. I feel like I’ve found my groove now.

Having a day off today, or at least will be having some choc later even though food should be ok. I’m about to go for an early run in the spring sunshine! 8 weeks tomorrow will be Whitsun school holiday and we’re away for the week, so a perfect opportunity to do another 8 (7.5) week blast!

Have a great day everyone!

Woo hoo! Easter bunny came - and took away enough lbs that I've now officially lost 3 stone since 10 Jan! Just knowing that will make it easier to resist large-scale temptation today (yes, I have made a little room for chocolate in today's meal plan).

Thanks everyone for your support. I've still got some ways to go, and it's only going to get harder from here, but this thread has been such a HUGE help.

I think it will be sunny and warm later so looking forward to a long walk.

Have a lovely, lovely day everyone.

APlaceAtTheBSDTable · 01/04/2018 19:22

bear well done on your run!
very that's an amazing weigh-in. Well done! What a fab result! Flowers

thenewaveragebear1983 · 01/04/2018 21:34

Well it was always planned to be this way, so I don’t feel bad or guilty, but after being positively angelic all day: (ran 6k, roast dinner with no potatoes, took my own strawberries so I didn’t have pudding, no cake) I have now sat down with my Easter egg and 3 oatcakes with cheese and chutney. And it was very nice indeed!

Back on it tomorrow though, running at 9am with my friend. I’m away for two nights this week with all the children by myself, so I’m quite looking forward to that as I’ll have no temptations and won’t be in my own house so much less likely to graze/cheat!

And who can believe it’s APRIL today? Still feels like winter here! In short weeks it will be nearly summer!

OP posts:
thenewaveragebear1983 · 01/04/2018 21:35

That should say in 8 short weeks!

3 Stone since January is tremendous very. Well done!!
Im really pleased. Lowest weight for about a year and finally below 11 stone. Ive been bouncing about losing and gaining just above this for a very long time. Im feeling confident that I'm going to bust through my lowest weight since joining mfp 2 years ago within this 8 weeks. Its not a huge loss every week but its a loss each time so far. So much more motivsting than endless regains and plateaus!

XRayYankee · 02/04/2018 10:05

Hi all, I promised to report back. I've weighed in this morning and have lost 5 pounds.

My weight just after Christmas was 11 stone 7. I've lost half a stone since the New Year by cutting back on white carbs in general. For the past 6 days, I've followed the principles of the Blood Sugar diet and am now 10 stone 9.

Looking to lose a further 16 pounds by the end of May, in time for a family event.

I'm currently posting daily on a different thread, but I follow this one for inspiration and support and I'll be back again soon with progress Smile.

APlaceAtTheBSDTable · 02/04/2018 12:02

Well done XRay , bear and last .

I ate a quarter of an Easter egg yesterday and it felt like too much but then had chips with dinner so my non-existent virtuous halo slipped Grin

thenewaveragebear1983 · 02/04/2018 18:54

Mixed bag today:
Run 6.5 km, in the rain- far more fun than it sounds
Food ok, but not calorie counted. All on plan.

Mid afternoon- watched Aladdin with the dc and ate rather a lot of Easter egg.

So, not the best BSD day, but still enjoyable.

Going to my parents with the children for a couple of days, so I’ve packed all my running gear and will just really try to get back on track- hopefully a few good days will undo the weekend! My dad is sugar free anyway (has been for 7 or so years) but they re both old-skool low fat dieters, so I’m stopping on my way there for some healthy BSD food for me and the kids!

Hope everyone’s had a great bank holiday! Anyone got any targets, goals, aims for the next few weeks? (8 weeks from now is Whitsun holiday, which I count as the start of summer!)

My goal: a stone off by then (just shy of 2lb a week).
I’d like to be good enough/fit enough to run along the beach into the local town, which is a few miles. I know I can do this on the treadmill, but I’d like to be able to do it, in public, out in the fresh air!

veryveryquietly · 03/04/2018 19:39

Closing the kitchen on 920 cals and 30 gr carbs. Bit (ok, a chunk) of Easter chocolate as a treat, but for me low 900s is a definitely successful day.

Ordered some new trousers because my old favourites were just too baggy, and the smaller pairs I purchased in early Feb were getting loose too. New ones are 2 sizes down from January's size, and unbelievably are actually a bit loose too. Grin Thank heavens for ASOS and £20 'interim' black trousers that look semi-decent enough for work. This could get expensive, but in a very good way.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 03/04/2018 19:51

Closing the kitchen today on 950, 35g carbs. I’ve done only 9.2k Steps (and 4K of that was my run, so must have had a pretty lazy day!).

As it’s running day, I can technically have a few more calories, but I might just ‘bank’ them as I’m not that hungry.

Good work on the Trousers very!

OP posts:
Oblomov18 · 03/04/2018 20:13

Well done Very on the trousers!!

I have started again today. Officially.
But it's early days!!

Done ok. No breakfast, lots of water and tea at work. Miso sachet 21 calories. Leftovers of yesterday's roast lamb dinner only one small roast potato, lots of veg - total 821.

Yesterday I roasted some peppers. In freezer to be used in the next few weeks. The colours always make me feel cheerful.

Hi everyone I’m new to this and could do with some advice! what portion size does everyone have for a main meal? I’m worried I’ll eat too much!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 03/04/2018 22:05

Choc it really depends on what it is I suppose. I tend to have a smallish steak, or a chicken breast (maybe 130g raw weight?) and veg- if I’m sticking to 800. It also depends if you do 2 or 3 meals and how you break up the calories over the day. 500 cals for example is a pretty big portion size of meat/veg such as a stir fry.

OP posts:
thenewaveragebear1983 · 03/04/2018 22:06

The best thing to do is get some kitchen scales and weigh everything, at least until you get used to the size of portions.

OP posts:
Chocoholic686 · 03/04/2018 22:22

Thanks I’ll try to stick to the recipes so I don’t overdo it.

Commuterface · 04/04/2018 09:18

I'm just coming in to say "Hello". I've been diagnosed with PCOS since I was 14. I'm 38 now with two young DDs and feel that I am perimenopausal. I want to lose some weight now before I gain any more during menopause. I'm very interested in the Blood Sugar diet.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 04/04/2018 09:22

Hi commuter, Welcome.

I’m the same, had my dc and feel my pcos symptoms had got worse each time. I don’t want hormonal treatment so decided diet was the way to go. I am 35 this year, but I do feel/wonder if I may be peri-M too, as some pcos symptoms are similar to the signs of early menopause.

Do you have a copy of the book? Have you done low carb plans before?
