Pink I got it from Waitrose, but it's available elsewhere. I looked in Morrisons but couldn't find it there.

Zazu44 · 09/06/2017 04:54

Hi wanting to start BSD, any tips for a rubbish binge eater with awful willpower. Sooooo need to do this

Flibbertyjibbit · 09/06/2017 07:44

Have you read the BSD book zazu? I found it really helpful to accept what I need to do to get healthy. I'm logging everything I eat on myfitnesspal, alongside a spreadsheet to keep me accountable. Also first thing in the morning I am weighing myself so I start the day focused. I am on day 14, haven't binged since I started BSD - you can do it. Take it one day at a time.

This thread is a great help too Smile

thenewaveragebear1983 · 09/06/2017 08:02

Zazu once you cut out the carbs you will stop the bingeing. My advice is to be very strict (rather than an ease yourself in sort of approach) because it's things like fruit, sweetener, too much dairy etc that will fire up your carb monster. I am binge prone, and it's definitely for me at least, carb related.

Feel out of control a bit today, after having had a very good week, I can feel the weekend looming. I have a meal out today for lunch, so just quickly worked out the cals in my planned evening meal (steak and halloumi fries) to see what I have to play with and I've accidentally bought ribeye steaks (which are the highest calories of any steak!!), which leaves me only about 100 cals for lunch. So I now need to rethink- do I have salad for lunch and keep it low, or change my evening meal plan? I will have to see based on where I end up at lunchtime, but I don't like that 'let's just see' feeling as I've been very strict this week. My lunch friend is also doing BSD but she is very lax and easily goes off plan, so I can't rely on her to help me!!

Will keep you posted!

Fingers crossed for you Bear

I can tell you that staying up most of the night watching an election isn't good for staying on plan! Having declared at 717 cals, it went a bit wrong around 1.30am.

I demand a recount!

JigglyTuff · 09/06/2017 08:29

May the force be with you Bear!

Have done 4 days and have lost 1.5lbs! I have nothing planned for the weekend thankfully although next weekend may go slightly awry. Everyone's advice to Pink has been helpful - was thinking of cancelling a lovely afternoon with friends as there is no way I'm going to stick to 800 cals ...

PinkBlossomTree · 09/06/2017 08:35

Zuzu I have a habit of binging but I've taken the strict approach and not been offplan yet stuck to 800cals.

Flighty I also looked on our Morrisons home delivery page and they don't stock it either. Such a shame as our Waitrose is across the other side of town and about a hour round trip. I showed my DH and he was like omg that's amazing, the price seems reasonable too. We thought atleast £2-£2.50.

Bear that suprised me Ribeye being so high. We have steak weekly but buy rump out of habit we sometimes luck out on home delivery tho but find you get a lot less than rump.
We have a large mushroom with ours and occasionally some cauliflower.

I've weighed in this morning so I can monitor my weight over the next few days after tonight.

APlaceOnTheCouch · 09/06/2017 09:21

Flighty yy about staying up to watch the election and accidentally eating more Blush I decided I wasn't going to stay up too late so headed to bed about 2am only for DS to wake up about 10 minutes later with a temperature. So, no lunch date for me today. I'm at home with a poorly DS instead.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 09/06/2017 09:44

A typical 225g ribeye is usually about 400+ calories. It's the high fat content in it which makes it so tender and delicious. I might have to cut mine in half to save a few cals! I have not budgeted for any wine tonight either; I think that's why I feel like it might all go wrong, as if I have wine as well then I'm basically way out!

Friend and I have chosen a nice gastro pub for lunch, hopefully there'll be some kind of hugely overpriced Caesar salad served on a trendy slate tile, and I shall ask for my dressing to be served in a jam jar on the side Grin

tobee · 09/06/2017 09:57

Well I had a gin and low cal last night (2nd alcoholic drink in 5 1/2 weeks) but felt no effects. Despite staying up til 5 am I didn't indulge further. But I've had about one hour's sleep. Normally sleep depravation is a big red flag for me, my go to would be fried egg sandwich or beans and bacon toast. We shall see.

PinkBlossomTree · 09/06/2017 10:56

I've picked up a rump at the shops and that's really high too 283g portion comes in at 433. We tend to have it once a treat as so bloody yummy and now I find really filling.

Slate title and jam jar. Hilarious. Fingers crossed they have a nice salad for you.

Flightywoman · 09/06/2017 11:06

Pink - you NEED to make that trip across town! It's AMAZING!

It tastes like bread, it holds together, it isn't full of air or massively flimsy and fally-aparty, it's actual bread! Toasted up really nicely too, and the seeds give it a nice bit of texture and chew. I am so happy right now!

PinkBlossomTree · 09/06/2017 11:15

OMG flighty. I'm quite suprised by that as some of these sub products aren't the best.

Bread that is on plan - mind blown.

I'm not a fan of frozen bread but may have to start making exceptions. Damn it why can't Asda start stocking no carb products they have nothing anymore.

tobee · 09/06/2017 13:29

That bread does look good flighty but I'm scared I'd over indulge. What do people think?

PinkBlossomTree · 09/06/2017 14:55

Is the bread full size? Just wondered as I'm not eating it DH has been buying half loads and the slices are so tiny.

I'm considering taking the trip out and getting some. 2 slices and 2 eggs would make a amazing lunch / dinner

Flightywoman · 09/06/2017 16:22

The slices are relatively small - same surface area as a Vogel's loaf - 6 or 8cm square maybe? And thinner cut. So they don't feel heavy.

I think if you freeze it Tobee and get one or two out at a time you'd be ok. Depends on your level of willpower!

Flibbertyjibbit · 09/06/2017 16:29

Exciting to hear the bread is good - tempted to drive to other side of town to waitrose. Might keep it as something to look forward to next week. Would be lovely to have it toasted with poached egg on top.

Rather pleased with myself today, had to have MRI this morning, luckily I managed to get appointment at an open scanner. Normally I would have treated myself to coffee and cake for getting through it ( I have a huge phobia with MRI scanners) ... but today I came straight home, had a cup of tea and carried on with my day.

Looking forward to weighing in tomorrow to find out my week 2 total. Have booked a hair cut tomorrow afternoon as my non-food reward for sticking to plan.

Hope you all have a good weekend. Smile

PhyllisWig · 09/06/2017 22:23

Well done Flibberty - food as reward is such an easy habit to get into.

Zazu I am a binger - I find planning key so I can park thoughts of what I have to eat, it's all ordered so there is less temptation.

Good day today. Doughnuts from the fancy bakery were bought by the boss and even though I would sell my kids for custard doughnuts I said no and wasn't really tempted. I also turned down dd2s offer of a mini cheddar and dd1 said I was a witch.

Can I ask about going to the loo. I am there constantly at the moment, weeing like a bastard. Obviously I've upped the drinking but this is ridiculous. I've also been pooing like a trouper which has surprised me as I was expecting the opposite. Just me?

Nomoocluck · 10/06/2017 07:37

Hi everyone. Can I join in? Just started the BSD this week after buying the book. Aiming to lose about 1 stone because I'm quite short and am carrying it all round my middle. I had impaired glucose tolerance with my last pregnancy am at risk of getting type 2 diabetes.

After a very stressful year where I was having cake and pastries as a treat every evening I've decided to try and take control back.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 10/06/2017 07:57

Morning everyone!
Welcome new starters!

Today is the test for me because, as usual, I went waaaaaay over on the calories and carbs yesterday. Old me would probably continue that for the weekend, but new me is going to go straight back to 800 calories today. And tomorrow.

Taking ds swimming as I'm trying to teach him to swim before we go away, so I won't technically be exercising myself, just bobbing about. I might hopefully get out into the garden for a bit. Food will be mushroom/ham/cheese for brunch, and a salad for dinner as I have a friend coming round with her boys for pizzas.

Have a great day everyone.

PinkBlossomTree · 10/06/2017 11:00

Morning everyone.

Had my night off as planned. Drinks were VERY expensive so ended up on pints. Had done the maths on MFP for a pint but the brands were different and higher as they were sweeter. Think I had 3 pints, not sure as my DH kept topping it up when I was in the toilet.

I made up for it on the buffet as I was very good a tiny plate full. It was a amazing spread of cold meats prawns and chessboard so not off plan. 1.4lbs on and back on it today with a sore head!

Was it Phylis who said about toilet, my god I may as well live in ours it's bloody constant.
With the other toilet you mentioned I think it can go each way either not very often or a lot but seems to depend on the person.

Flightywoman · 10/06/2017 11:28

Morning!

I was SO tired yesterday - 3 hours sleep in 41 hours - that I suggested takeaway last night. I didn't have rice, or noodles, or chips! I did have prawn crackers (goodness knows what's in them) and a few chicken balls, but largely stuck to the right choices. And no booze! And was bang on plan for the rest of the day.

Over 2 days I'm 3/4lb up, but I'll take that!

Back on plan for me...

Perdyboo · 10/06/2017 13:18

Happy saturday people waves at all the new people
Week 2 weigh in for me today and I'm down to 15.7.5 so that is 12lb in 2 weeks :)) Am happy with that. (Though a teeny bit of me might have hoped to make the stone but AM NOT grumbling!!!) Clothes are way looser!!
Have stuck totally strictly to plan but possibly could do with drinking more. Am on toilet a lot but not "going" like some other people (tmi??). There will be a time when I have to tackle off plan occasion s but like others have said, I need to go for this.

Flibbertyjibbit · 10/06/2017 13:24

Week 2 weigh in - 2.5lbs off this week, total loss now 13.45lbs or 6.1kg, so close to the 1 stone mark! I've lost 4cm off my waist too.

Very disappointing trip to waitrose. They do not stock the livlife bread Angry so I won't be having toast tomorrow morning. To make up for it, I bought us 2 nice looking sirloin steaks, which I am going to have with blue cheese sauce and tenderstem broccoli. Still got to cook potatoes for DP as he can't live without carbs.

Welcome nomooocluck

Sounds like you did well flighty sometimes take away is the only option when exhausted.

Flibbertyjibbit · 10/06/2017 13:30
