Well done Oblomov , Stitch and Flighty. It's always inspiring to read about losses.
I've been averaging 800 cals since Mon with about 50g carbs (except Tues when I had 80g carbs). Lots of walking yesterday too. I have a WI at the doctor's next week so will be interested to see what I weigh on their scales and fully clothed and without the option of moving the scales to a 'better' part of the floor Blush Grin

stitchglitched · 04/05/2017 16:19

I'm struggling a bit today, day 4. Had yoghurt thingy for breakfast, scrambled eggs and tomato for lunch. Feeling hungry, shaky and desperate for chips! I'm actually lying in bed now, was hoping to nap and pass a bit of time but stomach rumbling too much.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 04/05/2017 17:14

Hi keepon I remember you from a while back!

Had impromptu lunch out today as i forgot it was voting day so ds's school was closed. Went to a pub, couldn't face a salad so I had a smothered chicken (chicken breast, cheese and bacon) which while massively over the cals was prob not too bad otherwise, and felt like a naughty treat. I left the chips and had peas and mushrooms. But I did have about 1/3 of a dessert as I was sharing with ds and couldn't resist. Not the best overall for a meal.

Motivation arrived today in the form of my swimming costume for my holiday- I've been having a terrible time getting a decent underwired suit that's not hugely expensive or otherwise not my style. Ordered one in a 34dd but it's too small everywhere else! Tried to exchange and get the 36 but it's sold out- so basically I have to get into it and at least not look too horrendous. I have 3 weeks.

I won't dwell on how I feel knowing that even clothes made of elastic don't fit me.... This is my penance for my several weeks of rubbish will power!

Ooh, can I join?

I'm on week 2. Trying to do 16:8 4 days a week too.

Today. : porridge made with water with some seeds/nuts for lunch and will be having 2 sausage, tomatoes and beans for tea. Maybe some Greek yog/blueberries if I have any calories left.

Also done 14,500 steps according to my Fitbit but can't see how that can possibly be true.

Flightywoman · 04/05/2017 18:59

Oh man! Major cooking fail! I attempted the spicy bean burgers from the book. They're dry and very crumbly. Ok as fuel but not that nice.

I'd also bought a meat burger for the daughter but didn't realise it was spicy - it was in tiny print on the back of the packet - and it was a weird combination of spicy but bland. She did her best with one of the bean ones but wasn't keen.

So I feel like I've eaten but it wasn't all that nice!

Scandicat · 04/05/2017 19:12

Bear - don't feel bad - swimming costumes are weirdly unstretchy. And you have three weeks, you can achieve a huge amount on this diet in that time.

Flighty - an unsatisfying meal is really difficult. If I feel unsatisfied, I want to eat more.

I've just had the hungarian goulash from BSD book. DD and DS had it with rice, I had it on its own. Annoyingly I didn't think it was as nice when I made it as when DH did. But it still taste good. I'm at 925 cals and 62g carbs but may well eat something else later. I've also burned 440 calories extra according to MFP/fitbit, so since this is phase 2 I can live with going over 800. Do feel like I need some kind of consistent plan though.

stitchglitched · 04/05/2017 20:18

I had baked haddock with lemon juice and courgettes, tomato and spring onion. Was really nice but not remotely filling. DP then went to chippy for his tea. I've just eaten about 20 chips. Ah well fresh start tomorrow!

Flightywoman · 04/05/2017 20:20

There are doughnuts in the kitchen - all my own fault for buying them of course! Wish me luck resisting them!

stitchglitched · 04/05/2017 20:21

Mmm doughnuts! I sound like Homer Simpson.

Flightywoman · 05/05/2017 13:39

Just did one of those mixed plates from the book - but freestyled it to suit what I have in!

Yum and under 300 cals for hummus, salad, mozzarella, grilled peppers, steak and olives!

Tonight it's chicken korma, following a recipe from the Jamie Oliver forum which is really delicious - www.jamieoliver.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=27153

thenewaveragebear1983 · 05/05/2017 21:14

Good ish day today- I haven't counted calories although have just totted up and I've come in at 1450 and 45g carbs, would have been a brilliant day but I went did lunch with DM, unplanned.

Ooh may I join?
Just need to lose 9stone with no medical history, saw the book in Sainsburys's and haven't looked back.
R1w7d1 and 1st 5lbs down really happy with this, have never managed to lose this much weight on any other diet, people are just beginning to notice, I can't believe how much better I feel, I'm moving more and faster! I have stuck to the principles of the diet and occasionally had the odd glass of wine, or roast potato or maybe a homemade Yorkshire pudding and even some rhubarb crumble. I haven't felt deprived at all. I make the same meal for the whole family and they have it with carbs. So happy to have found a new W.o.e that suits me and the support and encouragement on here is outstanding. Thank you

Flightywoman · 06/05/2017 10:21

Day 6 and I've lost 9lbs. Sooooooooo pleased with that!

I've started the day with a mushroom and egg thing - it was ok, but not very substantial. I've decided I'm not a fan of large-ish field mushrooms pretending to be a filling meal option, because they aren't!

stitchglitched · 06/05/2017 12:39

Wow 9lb is amazing. I'm not weighing in until monday now. I had a bad day yesterday, went to a family party where cheeseburgers and ice cream was served. But I felt bloated and sick after so have started today with renewed determination. Skipped breakfast, just had poached egg and tomato for lunch.

ChocChipBitch · 06/05/2017 20:40

Eschewing the choc chips of my namesake, I've decided to join you all if that is ok. Really need to do something drastic to shake myself up a bit. Since graduating nearly 3 years ago, I have gained 2st 10lbs, a stone of which is since I met my boyfriend 10 months ago Blush I've booked a holiday for 2 weeks time so looking to lose 7 lbs before then but anything will help really. Ending today on 794 calories and 39g carbs Grin

yumyumpoppycat · 06/05/2017 20:59

Wow juggles well done 29lbs off in 7 weeks is amazing! Great that you are feeling so good too. have you a plan for what to do when you get to week 8?

9lbs in 1 week is also brilliant well done fighty!

Welcome choco!

I have had an ok week losing some regain and was 4lbs down on last weekend but had some prosecco and a high cal day today.

Well done on keeping cals and carbs decent despite lunch with mil New.

APlaceOnTheCouch · 06/05/2017 23:35

This is my day Grin

Place that's very funny- I often joke I'm on the caterpillar diet; I start each week eating a nice green leaf and end it eating cake, salami, cheese, ice cream.....

I've done ok this week, in that I have curbed my chocolate eating and haven't had any of the bad carbs (even had a curry last night with no rice or bread, just cauliflower!) but I'm eating a lot of calories and also not drinking much water so I'm still teetering between 12 and 12.2 depending on when I weigh myself.

So I need to keep up the no carbs but really work at the calories this week. 2.5 weeks til holiday so every gram counts! Having brunch /dinner today so will hopefully keep to plan, plus lots of gardening. It's going to be a gorgeous day here and I've got some plants to go out so should be pretty active.

stitchglitched · 07/05/2017 10:50

I had a good day yesterday, less than 800 calories. Not eaten yet today, going to have some kind of egg shortly. Weigh in tomorrow, worried that my total failure on friday will have blown my chances of a good loss. So hungry all the time!

Oblomov17 · 07/05/2017 11:10

I did very well, 800 every day last week, until last night, when I had a g&t, a packet of walkers cheese and onion crisps and 2 Oreo mini eggs. Angry

I ate the crisps because I was craving salty. Remind me, why do we crave salt, and what am I supposed to eat, (but not marmite!!)?

I am batch cooking this morning.
Mediterranean vegetables.
Peppers with puy and feta.
And my 'requested my friends' famous: cauliflower, chickpea and sweet potato curry.

I don't know why we crave salt, but I definitely do. I have olives and feta, Parma ham etc when I get the urge but I've never been a crisp fan anyway so I don't miss them!

OP posts:
Flightywoman · 07/05/2017 13:59

I'm a salt fiend anyway (though I try to keep it down because health) so I tend not to crave it because I've already got enough in my diet. I LOVE crisps with a passion, and at the moment I am having to do a whole "Crisps, you are DEAD to me" thing because we have them in for the daughter.

What I've enjoyed about my first week is renewing my love of food - I've always been a relatively adventurous cook trying new recipes, tweaks etc but in recent years that has faltered - husband is vegetarian, daughter is The Great Vegetable Refuser, it's usually quite dull trying to make things that meet everyone's requirements but this week has been a real pleasure for me. We've had falafel, the best hummus I've ever made, a really good korma, and some rather duff burgers (the ones in the book) - but she at least tried them and did pretty well, even though they weren't really very nice.

That's been very enjoyable.

It's veggie chilli tonight - she'll eat the vegetables in that! - very easy, very quick, very low cal/carb.

And then it's first proper WI tomorrow...

Flightywoman · 08/05/2017 07:22

11lbs off. In one week! Blimey!

I am so pleased and SO motivated.

stitchglitched · 08/05/2017 10:49

That is brilliant! I'm weighing in later at Boots so skipping breakfast this morning.

APlaceOnTheCouch · 08/05/2017 11:23

Well done Flighty that's an excellent start to the week. You win the BSD Star
I was weighed at the doctor's today and, oddly enough, wearing clothes and shoes, I weighed the same as I do at home with no clothes. I'm guessing my home scales must be slightly out.
I love this sunshiney weather. It makes it much easier to stick to BSD and to walk more.
