Shiny new thread for the BSD'ers. Best thing you can do is first read the MM bsd book do you get a full grasp of what the rules are but in a nutshell:
800 calories a day
No bread/pasta/potatoes/rice
No processed food, no alcohol
As close to no sugar you can get
Full fat, no low fat
Protein to keep you full
2-3 litres of water a day
10,000 steps a day (work your way up)
HIIT if you can 2-3 times a week

Hello Oblamov I am still 2lbs short of 2stone loss mainly because I have had a house full since mid July, on top of the 2 divine weeks in Sicily + all things high-profile socialising before that! So I have been on/off all summer but am pulling the reigns in again now in forlorn hope of shifting 1st by end of Oct, original plan was another 1st by beginning of Oct, but that ain't going to happen, want to be realistic, if DH + I hadn't caned it all summer would be in a different situation, but not going to let that stop us getting back in the zone now! Deffo an 'oldie' by the way on the diet + relative to time on the planet! LoL!! ; )

H3l3naGraham · 31/08/2016 18:19

DUH!! In the 8 weeks sorry.... no idea......sorry, took forever to kick fat, old body into gear, think I went into shock, but I have tended to 5:2 all the way through ie 2 bad days, 5 good ones 'cos of social commitments with DH. Useless answer, sorry. BUT, this diet works, it's not just about weight it's about health it's also about a lifestyle change, not a quick fad.

Lndnmummy · 31/08/2016 20:59

Right kitchen closed at 1003 cals today. I felt okish during the day bit jesus the evenings are a killer.

Lndnmummy · 31/08/2016 21:00

I will stick with it now for sure, I am feelig to awful for it all to be in vainBlush

thenewaveragebear1983 · 31/08/2016 21:44

Ldn- hang on in there! It can be hard and especially if it's a dramatic change in diet for you. You are detoxing after all and you are missing your carb fix that boosts you throughout the day. I find it's only when I stop eating carbs that I realise just how many times I reach for them and really consider why I do that. It's usually stress or the kids, so my carb addiction is mostly as a response to the stresses in my life. Take away the crutch and I am often left with, it seems, no cure for my stress. It can be a tough few days but it will get easier!
Are there any things you could do to get you through? Herbal tea, a walk, a hot bath?

Lndnmummy · 31/08/2016 22:11

Bear normally that would be the prosecco getting me throughGrin. Seriously my mood is awful poor poor dh. I am going to spend my lunch hour tmrw reading the book and see if I can copy the meals. Maybe I feel better if I eat food rather than shakes? I will plod along.

How often do you guys weigh in? X

thenewaveragebear1983 · 31/08/2016 22:18

Are you doing shakes Ldn? I managed about 2 days before I wanted to throttle someone- so yes, I would recommend at least trying it with real food. It's more satisfying and varied to keep you interested, plus digests more slowly to keep you from feeling starving. I also thought the Atkins shakes were a lot of calories for how nice they were. Much better to make your own, the green tea shake in the book is lovely.

Lndnmummy · 01/09/2016 08:55

Yes I have been doing the shakes but I am trying with food today as yesterday I nearly attacked my poor husband in a rage and it is really not like me at all.

Another kg down this morning so now weigh 73.6kg, which is motivating of course. But I am trying with food today. I have just been so worried about going the limit so thought I better stick with the shakes, but I just cant take it.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 01/09/2016 09:57

I've had a cheeky weigh in this morning, down from 12.2 on Monday to 11.12.8 today- what's that? About 3lb? I can only subtract whole numbers!
Got a lovely pulled pork slow cooking as we speak for tonight's tea which smells divine. Green things for lunch. Coffee for breakfast.
Ldn I totally hear you on the shakes, I thought I'd be able to forget about food and get my head back on plan but it was totally counterproductive. Even the Atkins ones have sugar in and the chocolate flavour just got my tastebuds going. Variations of full fat yoghurt/peanut butter/ cacao/ berries make a much nicer shake in my opinion. We live and learn!

I've been good so far for 3 days, hardly eating anything, only one real meal, minimal carbs, and today no carbs at all, because I'm not hungry. Plus walking for 1/2 and hour, or gong cycling with ds's for 1/2 an hour. Not a lot of exercise admittedly, but remember, I am almost normally sedentary.
if I haven't lost a bit after a week of this, I will be WELL cross.

Lndnmummy · 01/09/2016 18:06

Well done everyone!! I have had a much better day today! Maybe I am getting used to it or maybe because I did food instead of shakes but I feel so much better. What a difference.

Bear thank you for great advice the no carb thing and no snacking definately helped for me. I have had a much much better day. Let us see if I can manage to stay awake beyond 9pm

yumyumpoppycat · 01/09/2016 19:03

Well done new average, fingers crossed Oblomov, and Lnd that is fab that you feel better! Keep on sounds like you have had a great day too Flowers

I have had a bad day had a piece of my mums drizzle cake which led to low blood sugar shakiness etc and the need for extra cals all round. Think my period is due. Oh well will try again tomorrow!

APlaceOnTheCouch · 01/09/2016 19:24

You inspired me with your batch cooking bear so I made mushroom soup tonight. I'm going to pick up some broccolli and cauliflower for tomorrow night.
yumyum I have my period and a cold. It took every ounce of self control I had, not to buy a giant cherry cake today it looked amazing! I did succumb to Doritos. They're radioactive orangey tastiness was the only flavour that could cut through the snuffles (until I threw every spice I had into the mushroom soup).

yumyumpoppycat · 01/09/2016 19:39

Well done on reisiting place..... I have a cold coming too am at sore throat stage, dc all complaining of the same and blaming their snotty little sister! Let's have some pretend Wine to cheer us up for medicinal purposes.

APlaceOnTheCouch · 01/09/2016 20:03

Wine Cheers!
Yy there seems to be a bug going round. My friend's DD had it first. Now my nieces, my DB, DS and myself have it. I think I need to stock up on Vitamin C.

Loungingbutnotforlong · 01/09/2016 22:02

Wow- just caught up on the thread- the weight losses are super! End of day 3 here- really enjoying the food, but feel hungry for the first time tonight. Water like it is going out of fashion. Grr! Kitchen closed though. Smile

whatsonyourplate · 01/09/2016 22:09

Really enjoying reading about everyone's experiences. End of w2 weigh in for us this morning - I was a little disappointed to have only lost 1lb this week, but DH has lost 4lb, and it turns out he actually lost 11lbs last week (MFP anomoly made me think it was less) so he's lost over a stone in two weeks!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 01/09/2016 22:20

A good day for me, didn't count calories but was sugar free again all day and the only carbs I had was a 'stand and stuff' mini taco shell - it was nice actually, stuffed with pulled pork and with cheese grated on the top and melted (they are only 36 cals each as well, 6g carbs). Calories way over I'd imagine but as consolation my pulled pork was absolutely beautiful (and so was the crackling!Wink)

notsoold · 01/09/2016 23:51

Another here restarting on the first of September. Here I am reporting for duty! I die the 2 months and lost 10kg and a bit. Had a little rest and am starting today for another 8 weeks.
Of course it didn't go as well. Ds1 was unwell and because I stressed I also ended up eating. But carb really low so ok in my books.
Here is to tomorrow. Day 2 of the diet.
I would like to get below 70kg and or a smaller bra size at the end of these 2 months ( I am terrible with weeks). This time around I sill try to walk as well S I did no exercise the last time.

Lndnmummy · 02/09/2016 08:20

No weightloss for me today, of course I realise I will not lose weight every day but still felt abit disapointed l. Will go back to weigh myself weekly now. That is much better I think. Feeling so much better today, no snacking, food instead of shakes and no carbs is definately the way to go for me.

FeeFighter · 02/09/2016 08:41

Hello, looking to join in! I'm 4 stone overweight (eek) and now youngest is 7 months old I can't use that as an excuse.

Bought the book a while back but officially starting today!

whatsonyourplate · 02/09/2016 08:44

Bizarrely after only loosing 1lb in the last week I seem to have lost 1 1/4 lb overnight. Weird.

APlaceOnTheCouch · 02/09/2016 11:47

Welcome FeeFighter and good luck. The first few days can feel tough but then you start to realise how much you can actually eat on 800 cals.

yumyumpoppycat · 02/09/2016 15:33

Feefighter Welcome! You might need to adapt the diet a bit if you are breastfeeding or being woken in the night by your baby? My youngest is 5 and I have only now lost the weight!

Love the overnight weightloss whatson!

I am feeling crap and not on it today - totm officially started and cold worse plus dc have nits!
