Shiny new thread for the BSD'ers. Best thing you can do is first read the MM bsd book do you get a full grasp of what the rules are but in a nutshell:
800 calories a day
No bread/pasta/potatoes/rice
No processed food, no alcohol
As close to no sugar you can get
Full fat, no low fat
Protein to keep you full
2-3 litres of water a day
10,000 steps a day (work your way up)
HIIT if you can 2-3 times a week

Not2 yes we have, although it's not our most sensible move. We have spent the last 6 years doing general diy on this house (no major work but just lots of ongoing tinkering). A house we had admired came on the market and we made a cheeky offer, it got accepted, and now we're selling- all in the space of two weeks! Our potential new house- lets just say, it's a project. So another few years of diy on the cards....! But when it's done it will be beautiful (hopefully). We've never sold to buy before so it's going to be stressful!!

mustbemad71 · 28/07/2016 21:32

Congrats bear and happy hols!

Not2 you have made me feel better about the Kitkat I had earlier. At least I savoured it, only 100 cals, and didn't gobble it down mindlessly then follow it with 2 more like the old me!

Henbythesea · 28/07/2016 21:43

Hey everyone, I've been lurking this post few days; dc2 has chicken pox now so getting very little done!
Loving all the bikini chat - I left it briefly cross my mind that I might some day be comfortable enough to wear one again - exciting!
I'm down 2lbs since Monday, which I'm delighted with! I am a bit confused though because I got the MFP app and it says I've been consuming well over 800 cals each day, though I am following the book! I know you said they do seem to be off newaverage so what does everyone do? Follow the book or the app?

Not2bObvious · 28/07/2016 22:10

I didn't bother with the recipes hen, not a lot to my taste (or a lot of pomegranate seeds in my local shops) I follow a pretty simple diet, eggs (omelettes a fav) griddles chicken with spices & veg, steak, fish, cheese, nuts, full fat Greek yog, berries. You can eat quite well for 800 calories when you strip out bread/pasta/rice/potatoes. Yogurt & berries for breakfast -200 cal, omelette with mushroom & a little cheese/onion-300 cals, chicken breast/peppers/mushroom/salad - 300. That would be a good days eating. Cauliflower cooked & mashed with a little butter is great as a substitute for mashed potato & you can't get through nearly as much of it, and it's less than half the cals of potatoes.
Glad you enjoyed the kitkat must but I am a terrible example for you as you're starting out. I have to be honest & say I didn't eat a scrap of chocolate for my first 4 weeks - of course that's cause it was lent & I give it up every year for 6 weeks. The thing about abstaining is it removes the craving. I'm not knocking your achievements I promise and absolutely agree it's a huge improvement on 2 or 3. But if you can, steer clear. And I need to stop the biscuit nibbling too, it's a slippery slope for me. Gateway drug to family bear of Galaxy & a tube of Pringles. Stay strong, 2lb is fantastic, let's keep the momentum

I didnt follow the recipes I just calorie counted what I planned to eat on mfp....I often had eggs and veg for breakfast, coffees, then an early dinner round 3 (often leftovers or eating ahead something I was preparing for everyone else).

Ps I am loving veg stirfry bags at the moment, I got a family sized one from sainsburys, so convenient, low in cals lots of different veg (peppers, cabbage, sweetcorn etc) and cheap! Fry it with a little coconut oil, ginger, chilli and add some protein. Sainsburys boodles (ribbons of butternut squash) are good too but in moderation as carby. I stir fried a mix of a handul of each of these and also some baby kale then added some eggs then grilled with a little cheese on top and it was a bit like a giant fritter.

APlaceOnTheCouch · 28/07/2016 22:31

bear congrats on the house Flowers and a little cheeky Wine since it's the start of your holidays too.
I've lost 1.2lbs since last Thursday but this week has been full of fluctuations so tbh I have no idea what my WI will be by the end of the week.

Not2bObvious · 29/07/2016 06:53

Morning all. Still scale dodging here and awake far too early😡 Work from home day which is a challenge for the nibbler in me. I'll just have to keep busy get off fat ass in other words 2 nights out planned over the weekend, 1 with no drinking so the next day won't be too hungry but my other night out could be a challenge. I badly need to keep the drinking to a respectable level that night as I die a 1000 deaths the morning after but no doubt I'll make a lush of myself & be in a heap after. Company for dinner tomorrow also means wine'time but I'm determined I will limit that as I want to keep to 1200 cals, not a lot of room for food & wine in that. Big plans before 7am eh?😁

Thanks everyone.
Notso- how many calories are the Atkins shakes? Do you mix with water? How are you finding them? (Sorry for all the questions!) . I have seen the Atkins on Amazon so I might order them to be delivered for my return!

That's a great goal keep, I'm with you on staying strong this weekend. I'm soo soo sick of ruining my hard work with 2 days mindless eating/drinking. It's a long time til my meal out - trying to think of a lunch that keep me going and that I actually want! 40 min walk & 20 min run done so that's something. 1200 cals is my limit today, lets see

Morning all. Surprise surprise I overshot my calories yesterday - ate to my tdee of 2000. Had a lovely evening catching up with my friend, delicious meal (all 3 courses😳) and the home to a glass of vino with a few nibbles. All in all I got a lot out of my 2000. So I have to try harder today!
keep, are you managing to stick to your plan?

Keep KOKO you'll feel great when you break that barrier!

We were out for dinner last night - one vodka and slimline only and made sensible choice and main course only. It was hard but I still had a great night. 1200 cals for the say.

I'm down half a stone on Day 11 - no dramatic weight loss like week one but that's ok. I'm just trying to be consistent.

Not2 sounds like you had a great night and have sussed how to do this and have a life!

Not2bObvious · 30/07/2016 13:50

Half in stone in less than 2 weeks is extremely good must, and great behaviour on your night out. Keep, if you stick to a taste of cake, do that. If it's going to send you off plot, avoid. I think you want to feel confident on your holidays more than you want chocolate cake. I'm alway a bit disappointed in it, usually looks better than it tastes. Hasn't stopped me polishing off a few in my time of course...

Weekends get in the way a bit dont they? last night my meal at friends was very healthy and delicious...its all the cava that was the problem! Then today I was hungover and hungry and ate a bit junky prob only 1200 ish cals though. Actually I have a couple of socialising things coming up and part of me wishes I didnt so close to hol...but I know that is verging on eating disorder thinking so just going to have to accept I prob wont lose as much as I want to by hol and do my best to be sensible!

mustbemad71 · 31/07/2016 09:55

Morning all!

Flicks last night and popcorn was consumed, but that was my "dinner" I suppose.Confused

However another 0.2kg off - slow but steady!

Hope you are all getting your steps in in the sunshine. Chores here but at least it's a bit of exercise!

Henbythesea · 31/07/2016 10:16
