Shiny new thread for the BSD'ers. Best thing you can do is first read the MM bsd book do you get a full grasp of what the rules are but in a nutshell:
800 calories a day
No bread/pasta/potatoes/rice
No processed food, no alcohol
As close to no sugar you can get
Full fat, no low fat
Protein to keep you full
2-3 litres of water a day
10,000 steps a day (work your way up)
HIIT if you can 2-3 times a week

Here's the dress- it's a very thick shiny jersey kind of fabric, stretchy but unforgiving! Not my usual kind of dress but I think I was a bit heady with the excitement of losing so much in the first 8 weeks! I will definitely need some Spanx, although my current pair are too big if that's possible.

Ooh that's lovely bear! Eyes on the prize now, 3 weeks could shift 7-10lb if you work hard. Have you tried it on recently to see how it looks? Remember, we can get stuck in the rut of seeing ourselves at our start weight, takes a while for the brain to register there's less of us there. My first few days of holidays were fab, I'd look in the mirror and be astounded how narrow my waist had gotten. Of course then I cocked it up. Stupid dope that I am I ran out of the house without my eggs so I'll have to hold off until lunch to eat. It will do me no harm

keep if you really, and I mean really keep at it for 2 weeks (no office cake missy😉) you'll be a few pound down in 2 weeks. I really wanted to wear a bikini but my bikini bottoms wouldn't contain my mum tum. It wasn't that bad but I can't stand anything under my belly. I had a gorgeous one piece from boots in a coral colour that was v Baywatch and I felt it looked much better than the bikini. Coupled with a floppy hat, I felt tres chic. Other option is bikini top with nice shorts. Whatever you're comfortable in. Although I wish I had had the self confidence of the women around my pool.

Lovely dress bear - beautiful colours.
keep if you stick to BSD for 2 weeks you will see a big difference in your stomach.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 27/07/2016 09:12

I haven't tried it recently, but I haven't really gained or lost since I bought it although I feel that my waist has thickened a bit. I will need some Spanx! (Although I don't know if I'm imagining it but I feel like Spanx sometimes accentuate my tummy and make me look a bit pregnant??). Yes, 3 weeks could make a good impact, I will have to rein myself in on holiday so I don't have an extra half stone to lose!
Place I am totally with you on the bikini front. I just cannot relax in one, even knowing there are bigger/ less toned people wearing them, I will always choose a one piece. I also find these 'tummy control' swimsuits that seem to be everywhere these days way too tight and uncomfortable and end up needing a much bigger size than I should be because the panels are so tight.
There were some nice high waisted bikini bottoms around this year but not sure if they are a suitable compromise, it really depends on your confidence doesn't it? (Also a 2 inch band of suntan across your rib cage might be a bit odd??!)

thenewaveragebear1983 · 27/07/2016 09:13

Sorry, not place but keepon regarding bikinis!

I love the frost French swimwear in Debenhams and also the kelly brook stuff, very flattering panels and florals

APlaceOnTheCouch · 27/07/2016 10:27

bear I agreed with everything you said about bikinis and Spanx Grin Even when I was a size 8, I still didn't wear a bikini (although I did buy one).
One of the vintage labels has very pretty swimwear but I can't remember which one. I will see if I can find it.

mustbemad71 · 27/07/2016 10:28

Love the dress and cossie bear and not2!

I have worn swimsuits last couple of years - biba ones from House of Fraser. Just feel more confident in them but if I could get down to 9 stone I'd be back in a bikini - Sid the stretch marks!

Been for a long dog walk with my DD, 8000 steps! Now on with work and trying not to think about how hungry I am! Omelette at 6:30am seems like a very long time ago! Tuna salad for lunch and not sure about dinner yet - may do another salad of some description.

yumyumpoppycat · 27/07/2016 11:58

Dress is gorgeous....and swimming cos too.

I tend to wear tankinis from debenhams, more easy access than a 1 piece and you can get short style bottoms find it flattering and sensible Wink sensible tankini . Only problem is when we were on a flume thing at centre parcs where lots of people all go down at the same time I was in severe danger of my bottoms coming off Shock but this was on my older one which was a bit stretched. I used to wear bikinis abroad though on girlie hols {sighs}

hope you can hold off until lunch not2be.

well done on steps mustbe mad.

so far today 1 tea, 2 coffees, and just had 2 egg omlette with spring onion pepper and a sprinkle of cheese. Kids are on a day out and I am at home having a day off from everything so going to exercise and wait in for a parcel then maybe go for a walk.

It's a lovely dress keep, the only thing I've found is if it's uncomfortable at home, it'll be v uncomfortable anywhere warm. Don't know about you but I seem to swell up in the heat. But in 2 weeks it could be a different story with a few pounds off.
Food on plan (so far!) But v little water in & no exercise, oh well, one thing at a time

excellent keep!

I screwed up a little eating leftover dc food Blush (fish so not too horrendous) ...probably somewhere between 950-1100 for the day. On a positive note I exercised and it was quite a good workout; and even though that might not help with weightloss maybe I just needed some extra cals.

Hope everyone else has had a lovely day

Hoping for a decent day tomorrow as meal and wine at friends on fri.

Not2bObvious · 28/07/2016 08:39

Morning all. Managed a kettle bell workout & a 30 minute jog this morning, feel v positive after it. I ended yesterday on 1100, good enough. I haven't done a morning WI since Tuesday although have snuck a peek in the evening. Toying with the idea of holding of until next Tuesday to WI, getting a good number on a Friday means upset on Tuesday - maybe this way it'll be more realistic! No drinks tomorrow although I am eating out. It's easier not to overeat when wine isn't part of the equation. Almond milk shake with pb2 powder this morning, hope it keeps me going for a bit. Hope we're all raring to go😉

OP posts:
mustbemad71 · 28/07/2016 08:40

Keep that's great!

Yesterday was going well until an incident with a glass of wine and choccie digestive or 2 - teenager induced stress!

Back on it today!

Poppy at I'm the same here - wine and friends on Friday. Going to drive to stop me blowing the good work!

elliejjtiny · 28/07/2016 15:46

Thanks for the eating out advice. We go out to eat once every 6 weeks or so usually so hopefully that won't mess up the plan too much.

Love the dress and swimming costume. I'm using swimming as my motivation at the moment, my aim is to get down to a weight where I look relatively non blimp like and then I can go swimming with the dc's somewhere where they have a massive waterslide.

Day 4 here and a 3lb loss. That's good right? Especially with af due tomorrow. I read in the book that someone lost 7lb in 3 days and 19lb in the first week and I was kind of hoping that would happen to me. I suspect not many people manage that though. Managed 2 15 min walks (to park and back) with dc yesterday and my pedometer came in the post today so I can start counting steps.

Not2bObvious · 28/07/2016 17:18

That's excellent ellie, nearly a quarter of a stone. All those walks add up too - having a pedometer is great to encourage you. I have a Fitbit and have been known to march in place to get my last few steps in. Every positive change you're making will take you closer to where you want to be. Journey of a thousand miles & all that. When I started this I was weary of trying to lose weight and even now I think how hard I worked for what I've lost (between 10-17lb depending on the day) But then I have to look at the change in how I feel & look in clothes. My goal in total is around 2.5 stone so I knew it would be the long haul.
Today went great until realised I froze the wrong food so had steak for dinner instead of chicken. D'oh! Be around 1000 cals today and that's grand

OP posts:
thenewaveragebear1983 · 28/07/2016 17:41

That's great Ellie those early weight losses are so motivating. Unlike other diets you could lose that again in the next few days too as opposed to your metabolism grinding to a halt.
Today started well for me, but I'm on holiday mode now, dh bringing a bottle of wine home - we have had an offer on our house today after only 6 days on the market so we're feeling a bit hyper! Then off we go tomorrow to Devon. I'll be checking in here for motivation to not go too crazy though, but it's the holiday drinking that will tip me over the edge!

Not2bObvious · 28/07/2016 19:12

Wow! 6 days that's great (as long as it's the right offer of course😉) Have you picked your new home yet bear? I spent an hour looking at property porn today, sadly my expectations exceed my reality. Need to win the lottery as next time I move I want to just leave...leave the house like the Marie Celeste. Ate 2 bikkies but still ok on cals so not too bothered by it
