Shiny new thread for the BSD'ers. Best thing you can do is first read the MM bsd book do you get a full grasp of what the rules are but in a nutshell:
800 calories a day
No bread/pasta/potatoes/rice
No processed food, no alcohol
As close to no sugar you can get
Full fat, no low fat
Protein to keep you full
2-3 litres of water a day
10,000 steps a day (work your way up)
HIIT if you can 2-3 times a week

Not2B yy 2lbs isn't too bad. I did walk a lot - I spent 2 days walking for about 10 hours between visiting a theme park and a stately home so that must have helped. Honestly even my feet were aching by the end of it!
Sympathies on the sunburn front. I have sunburn too and frizzy hair that resembles Hermione's at the start of the Harry Potter series. Grin

Not2bObvious · 19/07/2016 08:45

Morning all, another hot day about to start. Did a 35 min jog with a 10 min walk, and then about 10 minutes strengthening exercises (push-ups, squats, crunches etc) I re-read the book since Sunday and it's been great to help refocus me. I'm down .2 of a pound since yesterday, weight is melting off at the rate of snails😁 I've had my first bowl of porridge in months, I'd forgotten jumbo oats were OK in moderation. 'Twas very nice too. Having an egg free day, I'll turn into a chicken if I don't reduce my intake. Lunch prepped & dinner marinating. Now just to drink 2-3 litres of water and I'll have covered all my bases. Anyone else about?

WI: 11.8.2 this morning. I did absolutely no exercise yesterday and tbh probably won't manage much today as I have a lot of work to get through. I'm waiting for the shopping delivery to come. Our fridge needs re-stocked after the holidays.
If I have any time today, I'd like to make some soup. Otherwise, I think it will be snacking on sugarsnap peas to keep the hunger at bay.
Not2b I am always impressed by your exercising. I really do need to carve out some time and space for it. I'm probably the most unfit I have ever been.

Not2bObvious · 19/07/2016 12:16

Nice drop place To be honest I don't even think about the exercise too much, I'm very lucky (and need to be thankful for that) that my work life balance these days allows me that time. I know it's not that simple for everyone. It's essential for my moods too. Another busy busy day here, tis great for the bsd😁

Watching your boot camp with interest and a little envy. I am finally starting to feel better, and it's only now I do that I realise how actually ill I have been. It's my birthday today, so I'm not even going to bother bsd-Ing but maybe tomorrow I will tentatively begin low carbing and sugar free-ing. I have decided that I need to use a multi vit if I'm doing this plan as I can't help but think that by cutting out fruit I have somewhat malnourished myself. I go away a week on Friday so any major weightloss is out of the question really. I took a little step on the scales this morning and I have, amazingly, gained just 1.6lb in my week of malady, which considering I've lived on bread, Cheese, and codeine is quite remarkable. I actually find that this weight, 11.7 is my body's natural weight. Every time I have lost in the past I have stuck at this weight, and it's taken a real push to go any lower, plus I've been able to maintain without significant effort, so perhaps that's why I've been lucky this week.

Not2bObvious · 19/07/2016 15:25

Happy Birthday bear🎂 I think your main concern is to get better. Since you're not hugely overweight or diabetic (you're not are you?) then there's no need to worry about any of this malarkey at the moment. Getting better in advance of your hols should be P1 💐💐💐

Happy birthday bear Flowers Cake I hope you are having a lovely day and at least the sun is shining for you .

You need your strength to recover so don't worry about BSD. Just focus on getting well. I know what you mean about a multi-vit. I usually take one every day in the car doing the school run but since we stopped school I'm in Scotland so we are weeks into holiday season I keep forgetting. Considering how restrictive BSD is, I think it's probably wise to top up.

Not2bObvious · 20/07/2016 06:08

Tales from the scales...down 2lb to 11.5.6
Very pleased to see this. Another bsd day today & tomorrow should be a tdee day however I'm going to aim for 1200, buy me some cals for night out on Saturday. Flupping starving but holding off to eat until 8, bacon & eggs, yummy😁

Bear I hope you feel better soon and that your birthday wasn't too miserable. Re vitamins, I take Immunace Extra which is very good.

This is week seven for me and according to MFP I have lost 1 stone 12lbs. Despite three days on the lash and many days where I haven't stuck to 800. Going to test my blood sugar later. My jeans are two sizes smaller :)

I feel so much better but I still want to lose more and I feel fine so I'm staying on it. Still posting my meals on the other thread. I usually give up on diets by the end of the first week but I like the food on this and how the weight comes off quickly. Hope everyone's ok today X

mustbemad71 · 20/07/2016 09:53

Hope you are feeling better bear

Not place and grace -* congrats on weight loss.

Grace I haven't posted on your diary thread but am finding it inspiring.

Not thanks for salt tip and in awe of your HIIT workout - I'm doing the 10k steps but too knackered for anything else.

Well I'm on day 3 and have lost 4.4lbs in 2 days!! I know it's probably all water but I'm going to really try and stick to it - I'd be thrilled if I could do as well as grace over the next 7 weeks. I really need 3 stone off but will be able to fit into most of my clothes if I can get at least 1.5 stone off for starters. Fed up with feeling like a fat lass and all frumpy!

APlaceOnTheCouch · 20/07/2016 10:18

WI: 11.7.4
tbh it will probably be another sedentary day here because I am drowning in paperwork and the weather is horrendous. I'll need to catch up on steps at the weekend (or go wandering round a shopping centre for a couple of hours later Wink )
Grace well done on reaching Wk7 and having lost 1st 12lbs.
mustbe great news on your initial weight loss. It is one of the aspects of BSD that helps to keep us all motivated, I think. Although there are points where weight loss sticks or fluctuates, overall, we can all see that BSD works.

Not2bObvious · 20/07/2016 17:35

Oh heaven help me, I'm h'angry & shattered. Just inhaled a slice of whole grain bread😳 Nearly 20,000 steps done and too little food earlier led to my transgression. Dinners in the oven, carbs under 50, cals under 700 so I have some room if I'm still hungry after it.
Grace, that's an impressive loss, go you. Place, that's your hols pretty much behind you isn't it? Must, super start - keep at it, you're flying!

Not2bObvious · 20/07/2016 17:37

Oh and must, you're over 10% on the way to goal! Pat on the back

Nice to see you keep - now, let's see what's going wrong. I believe on 1200 a day you would definitely be losing weight. From my WW's days the advice was always, when hitting a stall, to reexamine what you're eating, weigh your food, record every BLT (bite/lick/taste) - are you drinking enough water? Are you bunged up at all, sorry for lowering the tone. From my many many weight loss attempts, it was when I looked closely & was completely honest with my food diary I realised I was eating/drinking a lot more than I thought. I'd be great Monday through Thursday and then Friday to Monday I'd be eating between 2000-3500 each day. And if your tdee isn't too high (mines only about 1600) then you'll maintain or gain. Sorry for the essayBlush

Not2b yy if DH remembered my pre-holiday weight correctly then I'm back there. I'm on 903 cals today; 55g carbs and feeling hungry too.

keep I'd second what Not2b said about logging everything. I'd also work out your calories over a week. It may be that your heavy weekends are pushing up your total calorie count and that's why you're not losing. Also, change what you're eating. I find if I eat the same food/meals too much it's as though my body adjusts to them and weight loss stalls. Look at when you're eating too. When I've stalled on BSD, condensing my eating window has kick-started my weight loss again. I can't remember how many weeks in you are, but it's worth remembering that nearly everyone has had a point where their weight loss has stalled for about a week then suddenly started again. It seems to be the way BSD works.

Not2bObvious · 20/07/2016 21:14

I've finished the day at 1100 and I'm sure my carbs are wayyyy higher than the 50 I'd hoped for. I think the fact we're on day 3 of being super bsd strict has caught up with us, no surprise really considering how few calories we're taking in. Big drink of water in front of me, early night & tomorrow's one of my tdee days. I think I need it!

I had a square of chocolate so am on 951cals. I'm going to go to bed now. I actually have quite nice food in for tomorrow so hopefully will be able to stay on track.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 20/07/2016 21:38

Evening all. I have crawled from beneath my rock, blinking into the sun, feeling almost human again.....
Tomorrow I am back on the sugar free train, cutting back the carbs, but I'm not calorie counting until I feel properly well. I think by just cutting out cough medicine I'll massively reduce my calorie intake though!
Desperately need a shop as we have nothing in, so cannot meal plan even for tomorrow, but I shall visit lidl with my BSD hat firmly on! Loving reading your initial boot camp losses, this is why we love BSD!

KOKO this is me too! I've been stuck in a cycle of emotional mini binges and rewarding myself with "treats" and wine! I've read somewhere that it takes 21 days to form new habits and I did break this awful cycle one e before a few years ago - got down to 9 stone and stayed there for 18 months then fell into my old ways again. I really feel for you. Please keep posting and join me starting out ..... again! I tried the low carb BC but I just gorged myself on cheese and cream! I think BSD is good for an 8 week kick up the bum - being super strict with ourselves.

Not2 and place thanks for the moral support - Not your 10% point gave me extra motivation. In awe of your 20k steps - I'd be completely knackered!

Bear good luck tomorrow - back in it and hope you are feeling better. I'm
Full of cold but the upside is that it's dulled my appetite.

mustbemad71 · 20/07/2016 22:11

Ladies should carbs always be under 50g? What about macros, are they different for everyone or is there a BSD zone to be in? Thanks
