Shiny new thread for the BSD'ers. Best thing you can do is first read the MM bsd book do you get a full grasp of what the rules are but in a nutshell:
800 calories a day
No bread/pasta/potatoes/rice
No processed food, no alcohol
As close to no sugar you can get
Full fat, no low fat
Protein to keep you full
2-3 litres of water a day
10,000 steps a day (work your way up)
HIIT if you can 2-3 times a week

Well, 2nd instalment from me.... I've just had what could only be described as a carb-fest. Sausage rolls, white crusty roll, cheese. Not pretty. I think I needed it though in my sickly state. I know I'll regret it tomorrow!!

APlaceOnTheCouch · 14/07/2016 19:53

bear hope you feel better soon Flowers
Honestly, I think all bets diets are off when you feel ill. Sometimes you can only face certain foods and I hold the rather hippy belief that your body knows what it needs when it's ill so for whatever reason - lack of salt, protein, dairy, you needed to eat what you did today to see you on the road to recovery. Don't feel guilty. You know you can get back on BSD when you feel better.
I'm away for a few days on holiday. No scales here but I think I'm doing ok purely because I am walking lots. Plus DS made dinner and dessert last night, and those of you who have been on this thread for a while may remember that he favours teeny tiny portions of food arranged artistically on a plate. Hence the beautiful rocket, pomegranate and blueberry salad that I thought was a starter turned out to be the main but I have to admit, it was tasty.

Oblomov16 · 14/07/2016 20:29

Oh dear bear. Hope you feel better very soon.

Not2bObvious · 14/07/2016 21:50

Second the body telling you what you need bear, sending you feel good wishes 😘
Well I'm an unmitigated disaster but too late now, I'll deal with it on the other side. Wore white jeans out tonight that had been roomy before the holiday. Let's just say I cam home after dinner & put on the fat pants (aka elastic waistband jogger style but not as hickey as that) Drinking like it's going of fashion😳

Not2bObvious · 14/07/2016 21:50

Out of fashion!!! Not that drunk yet

Ladies (and possibly gents who haven't spoken up) I have a proposal. As you'll know from my holiday chronicals, I've been a disgrace. Well come Monday I'm going to start a bsd bootcamp, robbing the lo-carb bc idea. 4 weeks of proper decent 5 days @ 800, 2 & tdee. Who's in?

OP posts:
thenewaveragebear1983 · 15/07/2016 22:08

Not2be I am totally with you. It's my birthday on Tuesday, that will have to be one of my tdee days. I really need to get back on it. You know things are bad in my house when I raid the Barney Bears (horrible sugary bear shaped cakes filled with chocolate paste) but let's just say, the cupboards are 'bear'. I will continue to blame my wretched throat which I think is another bout of laryngitis (my 4th in 18 months) but I cannot hide from the truth forever!
Hope you had a great holiday, boot camp here I come!!

Not2bObvious · 15/07/2016 23:26

Nice one bear, welcome aboard. The biggest rule of this bc is going to be proper effort, and if we fall we get back up. Bringing back the bonnet so we can get back on it. No surrender!!!

OP posts:
mustbemad71 · 16/07/2016 09:07

Hi ladies can I join BC on Monday please? I have 3 stone to lose and want to drop a stone fast so that I have more than one pair of fat lass jeans to wear! I've read the book and think that I may find this better than 5:2 - I gave it a go but over ate on NFD. I need to get motivated!

Not2bObvious · 16/07/2016 10:28

Of course you can must! Very welcome to the club😉 I reckon it'll take 2 weeks to undo the damage I've done over my holidays. I usually count Friday as my official weigh in day it I think this is counter productive. Just means I've undone the weekends bad behaviour by Friday and feck all else! Hoping changing the weigh in to Monday will help keep me in check

I just bought a spiraliser, anyone got good suggestions? I have been googling but looking for everyday kind of recipes.
I am still doing 800 everyday, lost 13lbs now :D

thenewaveragebear1983 · 16/07/2016 17:50

The courgetti prawns in the book is quite nice

mustbemad71 · 16/07/2016 19:03

Thanks for the warm welcome Not! I'm back from hols tomorrow and ready to fight the flab!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 17/07/2016 13:44

I shall be watching your boot camp from the sidelines tomorrow not2be because I am very unwell. I have pleurisy, feel absolutely horrific, and dh has just been to sainsburys and bought me a tropical fruit platter and a litre of apple juice, which is about as un- BSD as it gets. And I feel too rough to care. I will join you as soon as I feel better

GraceGildee · 17/07/2016 14:02

Oh poor you thenew, that sounds absolutely awful. I hope you recover soon. Xx

Not2bObvious · 17/07/2016 14:32

Oh bear you poor thing! Hope you get better soon, eat well and rest💐
Back home now and will be weighing in tomorrow. I'm absolutely terrified what I'll see, feeling distinctly flabby & puffy. That's what holidays are for so I'm not going to beat myself up about it, won't change a thing. I wouldn't be surprised if I gained a stone

OP posts:
mustbemad71 · 17/07/2016 14:47

Get well soon bear. I'm just planning what to have tomorrow- I think being organised will be key for me or else I'll start scoffing well over the 800 cals!

Not2bObvious · 18/07/2016 06:52

Morning all. I've faced the scales and I'm 11.7.8, which is 5.8 up from the day I left for my hols (2 weeks ago tomorrow) and 7 pound up from my lowest weigh doing bsd (11.0.8) I'm so relieved it's not worse but also concious I might see a gain or plateau over the next 10 days-2 weeks. I'm planning a very light day, lots of water, sticking v tightly to bsd rules. Day 1 of 28 starts now! Or it will when I peel myself off the bed 😉

APlaceOnTheCouch · 18/07/2016 09:22

Count me in for the bootcamp. We were only away for five days but after the first day, I completely ignored BSD plus my phone died so I couldn't even pretend to count calories.
I walked lots and lots but I think I probably ate more Blush
I will WI shortly I am scared of the scales I also can't remember if I was 11st 5lbs or 11st 7lbs before I went away. I was fluctuating between both of them and until I get my phone repaired, I can't access my app.

APlaceOnTheCouch · 18/07/2016 10:27

WI: 11.9.4 boo! Back on BSD it is no idea why I suddenly sounded like Yoda

Not2bObvious · 18/07/2016 19:23

Check back through the thread place, you probably said your weight before you went. Finished the day at 777 and happy with that. Bursting out of my clothes though, no surprise considering I've gained half a stone. Pretty confident I can reel it in over the next 2 weeks. Have a night out on Saturday but pre-choosing my menu

OP posts:
APlaceOnTheCouch · 18/07/2016 19:42

Not2 well done finishing at 777. I'm on 837.
I checked back the thread but couldn't find my weight before I went on holiday. However, I asked DH (as he has an excellent memory for numbers) so it seems I was 11st7lbs before we went away.
I've had a horrendous headache today so I'm going to have an early night. Supermarket delivery is coming in the morning so I'm hoping that will help me to stay on track although I am Sad at the E-coli/rocket outbreak as I eat tonnes of it.

Not2bObvious · 18/07/2016 20:31

Oh well that's not so bad place, just over 2lb gain. That could be gone by Friday. I have to keep away from the scales, I've been on them 4 times since yesterday afternoon (weird saddo here, possibly the most I got!) I'd say I won't see a change tomorrow from today's weigh. Unless it's up! Managed pretty well today but mainly coz I hadn't a minute to bless myself, let alone eat. Onward & downward. I installed that happy scale app and I tell you seeing to go loop the loop calculating the gain wasn't pretty. But my head is in de zone (you can do yoda, I can do gangsta😉)

OP posts:
mustbemad71 · 18/07/2016 20:56

Day one - 769 so far. Need to drink more water. Not feeling too bad - bit of a headache probably sugar withdrawal! Not enough water either.

Not I'm constantly on the scales - sadly they've only been moving upwards lately!

Not2bObvious · 18/07/2016 21:18

You might need salt must, that's a common cause of headaches on this plan. Salty water maybe😁 No no don't do that!
I'm too warmmmm. I'm sick of heat, makes me feel even fatter, like a big sweaty seal, that's what I feel like. And I have sunburn on the back of my leg and a hideous mozzie bite that's swollen & itchy. I must say I paint a most attractive picture don't I
