I've started the 800 calorie Michael Mosley blood sugar diet today. I'm T2 diabetic, menopausal and need a sharp shock to do something about the way I eat.

Weight has crept up post surgeries over the past few years, I have low carbed before then caved in. I'm going to post what I eat and my progress on here as an incentive to stick to this for 8 weeks. Anyone else welcome to do the same.

Breakfast half a lavash bread, smear of tomato purée, lots of mushrooms and sprinkle of grated cheese. Very filling. 189 cal

Lunch. Little gem lettuce leaves with bacon, avocado, cucumber. 234 cal

Dinner chicken breast, sour cream with fajita spices, rocket, cucumber, avocado, celery. 337 cal

Drinking loads of water, a bit hungry.

I am into day three of my BSD. I've done the diet before and lost weight and maintained with 5:2 but I've taken some weeks off recently and really piled the weight back on.

Grace what's on your coleslaw? It looks delicious.

Starting BSD today. Its not the best idea seeing as I dont have a kitchen at the moment (extension in progress). However I am feeling seriously fat.

Today I will be having

125g greek yogurt and frozen berries.

Plan to have omelette and salad for lunch.

I am out for dinner tonight so will report back.

Just off to weigh myself Confused

Can I join this thread too - I'm already on the other BSD thread.
I'm one week in and have lost 5.75lbs, DH who is newly diagnosed as t2 diabetic has lost 8.5lbs.
Just having the beetroot apple and cannelloni bean soup from the book for lunch and it's really nice.

Hello all. I've been on holiday for five days and tried to low carb but had a couple of days off. I do find that when I eat something carby it's like the floodgates are opened and I can't stop. Back home today and made roast veg and prawns and houmous. I'll get on the scales in the morning.

ThatsWot my coleslaw is just red cabbage, carrot and onion with full fat Mayo. Sometimes I add pumpkin seeds.

Wow - got on the scales and haven't put any weight on while I was away despite ice creams and occasional pudding. We did do a lot of walking and I ate salads for lunch. V pleased.

I hope the diet worked for you - my husband was diagnosed with T2 diabetes and wanted to try the blood sugar 800 calorie diet to see if he could reverse It - after 8 weeks of sticking to the diet rigidly - has just had the results of his latest blood test - NO DIABETES! Blood sugar completely within normal limits! Dr will test every 3 months (we love the food so are sticking with the diet - just more calories!) - and we both feel so much better! I hope it worked for you too

BigChocFrenzy · 23/03/2017 07:29

Brilliant achievement for your DH ! Reversing T2 is awesome Flowers

Hi all, I have been on the 800 calorie diet for a week now: finding it quite nice and tasty. Writing everything down and measuring food I believe is key. I have already lost 4.4 lbs.

Any tips from anyone to maintain this and any meal ideas are greatly appreciated x
