I've started the 800 calorie Michael Mosley blood sugar diet today. I'm T2 diabetic, menopausal and need a sharp shock to do something about the way I eat.

Weight has crept up post surgeries over the past few years, I have low carbed before then caved in. I'm going to post what I eat and my progress on here as an incentive to stick to this for 8 weeks. Anyone else welcome to do the same.

Breakfast half a lavash bread, smear of tomato purée, lots of mushrooms and sprinkle of grated cheese. Very filling. 189 cal

Lunch. Little gem lettuce leaves with bacon, avocado, cucumber. 234 cal

Dinner chicken breast, sour cream with fajita spices, rocket, cucumber, avocado, celery. 337 cal

Drinking loads of water, a bit hungry.

Well here is my breakfast! Blueberry and green tea smoothie, plus 10g flaked almonds. I made the smoothie as yesterday, but modified it a little. First I made the green tea but added the flax seeds to it in the hope they would soften and swell a little. Walked ds to school then made the rest with the cooled tea. I left out the almonds as they make the shake quite bitty, so just had them on the side. I'm not too clued up with flax seeds as to whether I've destroyed them by doing it that way, but it's definitely s more pleasant drink today. I '' going to soak them overnight for tomorrow's version! Lunch today is chicken and asparagus salad and dinner is courgetti prawns all from the book. I was down 2.4lb this morning, overnight, after having a brilliant day on plan yesterday.

Using up the chicken today, simple salad and houmous for lunch. I had two chicken breasts to cook so made a tandoori marinade with spices and Greek yogurt and baked it with mushrooms. That was dinner with salad and halloumi.

Also I managed a run today! Big thing as I had nearly finished the couch to 5k earlier this year and had to stop due to injury. Only fifteen minutes of running today but no pain so I'm hoping it will be ok now :)

Tonight's tea; salmon and lime and coriander crushed peas. Salmon was lovely- not entirely sure about the peas, but I think it was the coriander that I found odd as it's not really a favourite of mine. These would however be yummy with perhaps basil, Parmesan and served with chicken or roasted peppers makes mental note for next week. I'm feeling hungry today, I might stretch the calories to allow for a small portion of yoghurt.
Done recipes on the cards for the next few days: griddled chicken and lentils from the book, steak in peppercorn and creme fraiche (book), salad picnic lunch tomorrow as going on an adventure with ds, plus I have the ingredients for hummus and the coconut flour for the waffles in the book. That plus a roasted animal of some sort on Sunday should see me through the week! I'm another 2 lb down this morning, so that's my 4lb weekend gain gone! It just shows that 'it works if you work it'!

Not checked in for a while, everyone sounds to be doing really well

I'm now 4 weeks in, and I've lost 9lb Smile super happy with that, 3 inches now off my belly waist as well. Face is looking thinner too, just the three chins now Grin

It can do, you can buy it coconutty or plain, which is slightly more processed to remove th flavour Grin

No photos today, I had a ridiculously busy day of training courses, meetings, work and more. I have eaten a prawn salad sneaked under the desk on a course, cheese on a bus and chicken and avocado standing up in the kitchen. Think I am within 800 cal. Making my breakfast the night before helps so much. Probably burned 100000 cals dealing with teenager. Grumpy Grace tonight.

Nothing too elaborate today, usual breakfast. Prawn salad and houmous for lunch and a piece of cheese. Dinner was a massive lavash bread covered in mushrooms, red onion and cheese and baked in the oven. Lovely.

Usual breakfast. Watercress, halloumi, brocolli and mushroom salad for lunch. Delicious tea of cauliflower, bacon, and cheese, this was SO nice. Around 800cal today.

I'm meeting my cravings in the middle today and having a no calorie counting day! Omelettes for lunch with goats cheese, few nibbles of cooked ham and pastrami at 4pm, then tonight we're having homemade hummus with sundried tomatoes and olives, (the bread in the picture is for dh, honest guv), kangaroo steak with salad, and done Cornish full fat yoghurt with a few strawberries for dessert. I'm so hungry just writing that.....!

Morning all, it's the weekend! My personal danger zone, although after my big feed up last night I don't feel quite so concerned. My meals today are from the book, going to have no-carb waffles for a late breakfast, and then chicken on bean mash for dinner. I won't drink tonight so hopefully should be able to stick with that and come in at 800. Going to a children's party this afternoon, I'm hoping that they ask parents not to stay rather than ply us with party food, but I shall remind myself that 30 4 year olds have pawed at all the offerings to put myself off....

Waffles update- the recipe in the book did not work at all! Instead I have opted for more of a pancakey affair, using coconut flour, an egg, milk. I must confess to the tiniest sprinkle of stevia on the top. Look nice though, but as a die hard crepe fan, I am not sure taste wise it will do it for me

Tricky day but ok so far. Usual breakfast. Was in ikea at lunchtime so had a few chicken meatballs - not that nice but needed something fast. Then I had a small bag of roasted cashews which were lovely :) didn't have many cals left for dinner so just half a chicken breast, lots of spinach, mushroom and broccoli.

Forgot to do photos again today! Been drinking loads of water and skin is erupting, hopefully it will improve soon. I definitely haven't been drinking enough water. Now 23lbs down since 4 April, which was a free weeks before I started this diet.

Usual breakfast. Lunch was two huge field mushrooms roasted in the oven with two bacon medallions and a small serving of baked beans and grated cheese.

Dinner was a bit of leftover chicken, spinach, broccoli, red pepper, halloumi and onion. And more water. I roasted a tray of vegetables earlier.

How's everyone doing?

Lunch today was prawns and cold roasted veg with sour cream and then two apricots. Dinner was steak with mushrooms, onions and watercress and some raspberries.

Horrible attack of IBS tonight, worst in a long time. I need to up my psyllium and drink even more water. As the attack started to slow down I checked my blood sugar and it was way up. Felt like I was in labour.

Sorry to hear you're not well grace . I don't know much about ibs, do you think the high bloods and the pain are linked or coincidence?
I've had a disappointing food day so far- an odd smoothie, and now some stuffed mushrooms from tesco that were really tasteless. I should probably have left them and saved the calories for something else but I was too hungry! On the plus side, I'm another pound down, now 11.5 and a bit, so just 5lb to new numbers! I'd love to go on holiday as a 10 something (even better to come home still 10 something!)

Well done thenew seeing the scale drop is such an incentive. I don't think I've ever come home from holiday lighter. :)

After last nights IBS shenanigans I was another 2lb down this morning, not recommended though. A friend firmly told me to buy new jeans last week and today I fit into a lovely pair two sizes smaller than I was in April. Hugely pleased.

Today I had a steak salad with watercress, two apricots and a satsuma on a day out with small children, lots of walking. Then tonight I had four lamb and mint kebab sticks with salad and roast veg, this was great. Under 800 today. 25lbs down.

Hello, I'm fine :) I had a few days of post IBS not feeling great so wasn't online much and I've just been away for a very drinky off diet weekend. Back on the horse tomorrow with photos. I feel like I've put a stone on since Friday.
