Scrambled egg in the microwave, cup or suitable bowl, beat egg or 2 with a splash of milk. Full power for 30 seconds, stir, on again for 30 seconds - stir again, might need a little longer, depends on your microwave. If you do it in a shallow bowl and don't do the stirring but it comes out like an omelette.
Eggs, nature's fast food😉

Well done the! That's a great result, you must be delighted. Still trying to break the stone consistently and I'm 5weeks ahead of you. Last weekend put me back about 3 weeks at the moment, such a dope

Goodness needed that looks like very high calories to me, for what seems a very good Mosley recommended 3 meals. I'm struggling to think how to recommend you could cut down the calories.

NeededANameChangeAnyway · 04/05/2016 19:43

OK, off to read the book again and take notes this time!!

Peasandsweetcorn · 04/05/2016 20:03

I-ve decided the only way I can do this properly is to cut out alcohol.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 04/05/2016 20:19

needed it could be portion size? I was quite disheartened at first by how small a quantity of some foods I could have but you do get used to it! Or it could be the stored values on mfp or calorie tracking app you are using. I find on mine they are very inaccurate, and I have added the majority of the calories for the foods I have eaten. Fresh produce is harder, but if you sign into tesco grocery delivery you can check the calories per 100g of any fresh produce, so whilst it takes a loooooong time I have been doing it (you don't need to do an order, you can do it through a google search). I tend to write my menu out, do my online shop and then check the calories all in one go (and it still takes less time than actually going to tesco!)

Not2bObvious · 04/05/2016 20:37

Needed I'm not sure how caloric halumi is? Or how much yogurt you're having but you could shave a few cals by going to 2 egg omelette? I use large eggs so they're 100 cals each. Are you vegetarian? Cause a chicken breast & salad would only be around 200 cals. Your carbs are coming from the yog/Apple mostly. It's still pretty good to me - I reckon 800-1100 is still a good day and around 50gr carbs. I had a 2 egg omelatte with mushroom & 2 slices of mature cheddar (1 in the omelatte, 1 as a snack-78 cals each), a almond milk with peanut butter powder (expensive but only 45cals for 12gr) milkshake, 15gr of walnuts & peanuts, a 100gr of sirloin with green beans - all in 795. Black tea and a couple of coffees, probably another 50 cals in milk(only take a v small splash) I'm currently eating 2 meals a day with 2 snacks of an almond milkshake & a slice of cheese/few nuts. Trying to undo the carnage of last weekend.
Yes, cutting out wine will definitely help a lot peas, and it's not forever of course

Hello everyone! Been lurking for about a week, coming to the end of Day 3. Currently hiding upstairs in the bedroom because I've been a bit of a grumpy cow because I'm in sugar withdrawal!! Been a size 10 and 9.5-10st my whole adult life but the last 2 years I've went up to 11.8st and struggling to squeeze in to a size 14. Not huge by any standards but just not "me". Hate looking at my wedding photos as I'm carrying the extra weight in those. Started putting on weight when I was put on an antidepressant, stopped exercising due to low motivation. Not a diabetic. All symptoms of depression are gone but coming off the tablets give me horrendous side effects so I'm stuck with them. Last year I was low carb high fat for 3 months but didn't lose a pound!! Was really strict on it, and I very rarely drink alcohol...even then it's only 2 or 3 gins not a crazy binge. I've tried sw, 5:2 so I'm hoping that this works for me! Makes life easier that my husband is on a health kick and eating similar foods to this plan..I just omit the starchy foods and add more healthy fats. Wish me luck!

NeededANameChangeAnyway · 04/05/2016 22:30

Thenewaveragebear (can I call you bear Grin ) thanks for that, portion size is def my enemy even though we have tiny plates I always fill them to heaping. Good idea on the calorie tracking, I'll set out my meal plan and work it out that way - today I was just rummaging for stuff to eat in the fridge and planned meals on the hoof so not the best....

Not2bObvious, yes am veggie so at the moment am a bit stumped on where to get protein beyond eggs and cheese, have ordered Rose Elliots low carb veggie book so hopefully that will appear soon.

Off to a curry cooking class tomorrow its been booked for months and just happens to fall on a week where I actually seem to have will power and resolve. Will try damage limitation and get back on the plan on Friday.

Elvish · 04/05/2016 23:01

I think beans and lentils could be your friend Needed.

Today I've had:
Natural yoghurt and a few strawberries (98 & 27 cals)

Salad with 120g of king prawns (80 for the prawns and 30 for the salad)

3 olives (guessed at 30 cals)

Turkey meatballs (lowest fat turkey mince cooked in a tomato and pepper sauce - 280)
Courgetti (40 cals) and 20g of Parmesan (85 cals)

12g of chocolate as I was really craving it and had some spare cals (71)

So a total of 745 today.

The chocolate is interesting, M&S latte coffee kick, 5 individually wrapped 12g bars. Was hideously expensive (£2.50) but as they are wrapped in portions I thought I might avoid eating the whole lot in one!

H3l3naGraham · 05/05/2016 09:29

Good luck with the diet duck - I'm not the only one on this stream who wishes they could say they don't really drink much alcohol....

Yesterday I had yoghurt & rhubarb for brekkie, BBeenz on toast (was out, there were only bread based options available at the cafe, but I only ate 1 slice & it was brown) and prawns & scallops on courgetti with a small dollop of cream sauce for dins. Then there was wine.....DH surprised me with a car for my b'day so I took him out for dinner as I was in shock. BIG shock because the car is considered a classic & because my b'day isn't until Oct......BIGGER shock because I haven't driven for close to 20 years......Confused

MarvellousCake · 05/05/2016 10:11

Wow H3 - sounds amazing. How was driving? Did you enjoy it?

I've not really been hungry on this diet (apart from evenings, but I think that's just coz I am a habitual snacker), but today I really am HUNGRY. Just going to have to fill up on hot drinks I think, and may add a miso soup to my lunch.

Am back on track after weekend, where I had a temporary upward blip, but now v happy to be down to 9st11lb (8lb loss altogether - approaching end of week 4).

So has your DH really bought himself a car H3?! Sounds like a lovely day Smile

H3l3naGraham · 05/05/2016 10:43

Morning all!

It was always my dream car, he even got the colour right, but I am terrified of driving it, not least because it's an automatic & I have never driven one, my driving style is more reminiscent of Boudicca than Parker/Lady Penelope...... DH took me out for a spin in it last night & I might have a go later today. Or tomorrow. Or perhaps over the weekend...... Need a large car park to practice in, thankfully the virtually defunct Manston Airport isn't too far away.....

So yes Elvish I think he might well have bought himself a sports car....... Wink

Not2bObvious · 05/05/2016 11:33

Oh H3l what a gift, your jaw must have hit the floor! Now you have a car bonnet so get on it 😁 Congrats and many years of safe motoring.
Great WI this morning, but I'm reserving celebrations until my official Friday WI. DF over for dinner tonight, might have a little (I swear!) wine as it's impossible not to, it's a break for him from his norm and it's nice to have a glass & a chat. Just reserved a pair of jeans in a size 10 - my goal jeans that will fit by July

OP posts:
H3l3naGraham · 05/05/2016 12:14

Ye ha - size 10 not2b - GO FOR IT!!!!! Am with you on that one, let's get in shape before the summer kicks in, in earnest!! Going for a walk now, cycling 8 miles after lunch, DH has got the bikes out Smile Will leave the yaw dropping car for another day, DH has been washing it, he's looking every inch the proud parent as he polishes it....!!

APlaceOnTheCouch · 05/05/2016 12:32

Gosh H3l3na - congratulations on the car! and on having a DH who is enjoying polishing it Grin

Weight-wise this week has been quite static so far. I'm not sure why. Last week I lost 2 lbs (I thought it was only 1, I obviously can't count as my Samsung weekly report says 2lbs!) but the week before I lost 4.5lbs in one week. Even though I ate more, had more carbs and exercised less on the 4.5lbs loss week.

I made mushroom soup last night and it's a gorgeous day today so I may get out for a walk later and see if I can jumpstart the weight loss.

Not2 well done on reserving the jeans! I'm not sure I'll ever see a size 10 again even when I reach my target weight I think I'll still be a 12 thanks to my childbearing hips as my DM calls them !

Not2bObvious · 05/05/2016 13:41

The jeans are very aspirational but I have them in a 14, now too big, a 12 getting loose and they're a style I absolutely adore. I've been trying to find them for 2 weeks, then just rang a branch near my office & they had them. They're sitting in a bag looking all slim & gorgeous - I have a feeling the style is being discontinued so I said feck it, I reckon another stone will do it - now I have to get my act together, for the sake of the sexy jeans 😉

OP posts:
Not2bObvious · 05/05/2016 14:25

Update from the jean queen😁 They fit...well if you don't mind a bit of muffin top😉 Now I just need to keep my eye on the prize, who knows I might be able to sit down in them come July!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 05/05/2016 14:36

Not2b - are you allowed 2 days at TDEE?? I did not know that! I thought you had to eat 800 calories a day for 8 weeks with no breaks! Please say I'm allowed 2 TDEE days!

Not2bObvious · 05/05/2016 14:45

MM says it's an option if I remember rightly (now I'm questioning myself!) if you're struggling with 800 for 8 weeks, it's still a huge calorie drop. Also if you don't have a lot to lose, like only a couple of stone, 8 weeks can be too long. It is ONLY meant to be a short term plan, the longer term plan is to stick to a med diet with maybe a day 1-2 a week @800.

OP posts:
Not2bObvious · 05/05/2016 14:48

Just re-read my in a nutshell post, it should have read 8 weeks @ 800 a day or 5:2
