Well, I have already had a chocolate doughnut so it's safe to say today may not be on plan Shock
Luckily I will be out for most of the day so fingers crossed I shouldn't have too much opportunity to slip further...

Not2bObvious · 15/06/2016 08:31

Well I faced the scales, 2lb up on last Friday but that's pretty standard for me so all good in my hormonal hood 😉 I did a 30 min jog and then another 40 min walk so my steps for the day are in the bank. I'm definitely not going to manage 800 for the next 2 days but I'll try keep the carbs down, no doubt they drive my hunger levels through the roof! Really pleased I've been able to run again, I don't like it that much but it certainly feels more like exercise that will burn the flab. Thanks ladies for the advice, I love our "chats"😘

Well done on the exercise not 2 be! And well done on weightloss Elvish.

Place it sounds like you have a lot going on at the mo with family in hosp Flowers Enjoy the sunshine and eat some nourishing food.

I have had a bit of a lightbulb, when we eat more normally our weight goes up because of the extra food in our tummies not because we have gained weight, so for instance I weighed myself after a week of not 800 ing and freewheeling and my weight was up almost 4lbs on my lowest, however I did one really good 800 day, not even that low carb and poof 2.2lbs off the following morning, so some of that might have been weightloss - a tiny bit but probably most of it was the fact that on the bad weigh in I had probably had more than double the calories the previous day (1600 is double and not even that high) so more food was glugging in my system? Not sure where I am going with this, but I think for maintainers a 2lb gain on lowest weight is prob not really weight gain, its food weight, but any more than that and take action with some 800 days ;)

I am trying to 5:2 it at the mo, I would like to lose 0.5 - 1 lb a week so I am going to hopefully eat to tdee (sadly only around 1500) and exercise 5 days a week and 800 plus rest days for 2, if this doesn't see any actual real weightloss beyond yoyoing then I will add in an extra 800. I thought about dropping to 500 on the 2 days but I think I would rather an extra day at 800, plus there is some damage limitation with ferwer 'high cal days'.

Hope you are having an amazing hol H3

There must be some truth in that yumyum. I have also read somewhere that an ounce of salt holds 6lb of water in the body (correct me if I'm wrong!) So proportionately if you have salty food in your 'cheat' days, you could be retaining were as well. Obviously probably not an ounce, but even 1/6 of that = 1 pound. I have also been reading about total carbs in dairy products, and have been wondering if lactose (ie milk sugar?) In cheese or milk could be too much, especially if weight loss is stalling? Could switching to lactose free be of benefit?

i've been out for lunch with a friend from work, I only had 2 bacon and an egg, so 'on plan' although I'm getting weighed at 3 so will potentially be testing yumyum's theory!

50gr is about right - very hard to do less tbh I've found. Greek yog & nuts for late breakfast, haven't had lunch yet and I'm starving! Omelette appeals

I'm having an up and down day which may be a problem later on this evening.

MIssed breakfast as I was late to work and didn't manage to eat before my first meeting. Had ham salad for lunch (230cals) but then got the munchies later and had a bag of salty popcorn (133cals and 12.6g carbs)

Salmon and veg for tea, but I can feel the temptation to slip into wine and chocolate later. I must resist!!

Not2bObvious · 15/06/2016 17:14

You've done well so far Elvish, minute you get home big glass of water and then get busy with something to distract you. Or, you could have a glass of wine & a square or two of chocolate. It's about moderation some days, better to moderate than lose it & neck a bottle & a family size bar of galaxy like I do

I'm doing ok, although I did have a small bag of corn snacks (17gr) Felt very tired & needed something salty. Not eating until later so needed something in between. Got my skinny jeans (my fab size 10's) to squeeze into, hope I'm not too bloated for them, I'll be gutted if I am. Drinking lots of water today, really helping with hunger pangs

I think I am going to have to mark today down as a cheat/treat day. I did have a salad for lunch but have been picking at chocolate raisins and pringles. Carbs are at 60g. Calories about 600. I was planning on having konjac noodles with cheese sauce which would bring me in around 800 but tbh I cannot be bothered making anything. I am going to lie down to see if it's tiredness playing havoc with my resolve.

oolaroola · 15/06/2016 17:58

Uh oh, I've blown it today on some feckin crisps! Didn't even enjoy em and have thrown most of a big bag away now.

Must. Drink. Water. Especially if what you say about salt is true, which I reckon it is.
Bugger.
Oh well, back on it tomorrow and at least I've resisted the biscuits! No catastrophic thinking for me.

APlaceOnTheCouch · 15/06/2016 19:48

oola we will both be on plan tomorrow and for the rest of the week. and on the plus side we didn't eat all the crisps or the pies Wink

thenewaveragebear1983 · 15/06/2016 20:17

Well I was doing marvelously until my brother, on a course local to us, all the way from falmouth, turns up with chippy chips and cadbury's twirls for the kids. Obviously, despite not even wanting them or needing them, I ate them. Came in at about 1300 so still under tdee but nonetheless, not my finest day. I really want to get back into the BSD mindset, so I am really going to try very hard to do a few good days at 800 calories. Honest.

oolaroola · 15/06/2016 21:06

Such good company today!
Tiredness defo played a part for me today place woke at 3 this morn and couldn't sleep.
Can't believe I've survived the day - on reflection it could have been sooo much worse.

Good luck tomorrow everyone - here's to salad and eggs and meat!

APlaceOnTheCouch · 15/06/2016 21:41

I'll be needing more space on the bench. DH and DS brought me back a slice of chocolate cake earlier. DS looked so pleased with himself that I couldn't refuse it although I did only eat half .I finished the day over 900 Cals and with sky high carbs.

I am actually looking forward to eating better tomorrow. I feel too stuffed.

H3l3naGraham · 15/06/2016 22:20

Yep, i'm in Sicily.....woah....!! Hic...

Not2bObvious · 16/06/2016 06:39

I go out for 1 night and look at you chatter boxes, eating & cheating! I raised you better😆
Obviously having a giggle, I had tapas so was good on that score except for the patatas brava drool Had a few drinks, but feel ok this morning. The drinks really bumped up the cals & I slept pretty poorly but it was a great night.
Hi H3l!! Hope you're having a wonderful time, we miss you 😘

OP posts:
APlaceOnTheCouch · 16/06/2016 07:19

Hi h3l3na I hope you're enjoying Sicily! Wink

Not2b my carbs count would probably have been better if I had sneaked out with you. I don't even need to go out to self-sabotage. But today is a new day I think I will avoid the scales until Friday in the hope I can repair yesterday's damage

Not2bObvious · 16/06/2016 07:24

Well I'm having cheese on toast for breakfast, I think you'll all find my saying today is "f*ck it"
I may as well have sat spooning sugar in my gob last night place, all my drinks were v bad on that score. Scales up by .4 this morning but I'm not concerned she sez, with gritted teeth

OP posts:
APlaceOnTheCouch · 16/06/2016 07:54

Meh I am up by 0.2 but was also up by 0.2 the day before so basically I have put back on the 0.4 that I had lost this week.

That will teach me except it probably won't

Not2bObvious · 16/06/2016 08:09

See that's what galls me, I know over time the weights going down but the back/forth is head melting! And quite frankly some weeks, even with a few slip ups, surely we're all eating less than loads of people.
Why aren't we all Kate Moss size😩

OP posts:
APlaceOnTheCouch · 16/06/2016 08:52

We are eating less than most people but aren't most people obese now? Grin

Only joking, I know what you mean. I do think sleep impacts too. If I haven't had enough sleep my weight loss stalls which I don't really understand. I know you burn calories when you're asleep but surely you burn more when you're awake even if you are tired ?

I remember there was a study a few years ago that said most people eat double what they need. That would imply about 800 calories should be our normal rather than restrictive. Kate Moss probably has 800 over a week!

H3l3naGraham · 16/06/2016 09:10

Have been pretty good on the food front so far, plenty of salads + mountain of fish, bread is sneaking in but not to excess. Now as for wine..... drinking it like the prohibition is about to be announced.... asides from that as a twice daily treat, have had no puds and only 1 scoop of a granita-type sorbet! It was yummy, DH is not faring so we'll though....

APlaceOnTheCouch · 16/06/2016 09:52

Gosh H3l3na you're showing remarkable restraint in the face of much temptation. I do think Italy would be one of the worst places to visit on BSD - so many tasty treats! (India would be difficult too for the same reason).

Not2bObvious · 16/06/2016 09:58

Oh H3l, I'm so proud - lushette on tour 😁 Only kidding, you made me smile in the midst of my excel hell. Note to self, find someone to teach me how to use excel....
