I don't have much to do today but chatter do I😁 Just finished yummy meal and am at around 800 - tummy still rumbling a bit but a cup of tea & more water should help. Kitchen closed, well that's what I'm aiming for!

Thanks for all your kind wishes Flowers

I am so hungry today! I had a goat's cheese and avocado salad for dinner but it has made no difference to how hungry I feel. I am now hiding upstairs reading some I don't keep raiding the kitchen.

Luckily DH came home today (he has been working away) so he can entertain DS for a bit. famous last words as I hear little feet on the stairs Grin

KOKO I've been a bit like that recently and my transgression didn't seem to make things go downhill. 9 weeks is plenty of time, don't worry.
It does seem to be more about getting your head straight and then everything else follows - or it is for me anyway.
We're changing a way of thinking and that takes time and effort and it's hard.

Not I've been pretty strict but I do wonder how that will translate to maintenance - sometime I think those of you who are 'slipping up' are better getting used to a real way of life iykwim.

Not2bObvious · 10/06/2016 07:42

I nearly think there's certain level of brainwashing that goes with this woe oola, you rule out the processed carbs, you drop a load of weight, you look/feel better and it's like an epiphany! And low cal can make you feel on a high sometimes, in control, minds focussed. But the fact is, we aren't meant to eat those numbers forever. Only 1-2 days a week once we get to maintenance. And if we're not diabetic, the old slice of toast or scoop of mash won't kill up. It's the knowledge that eating less of that kind of food will make weight management possible. It's also learning to avoid the catastrophic thinking, we had a nice meal cause we were hungry - so it was 800 calories, so what? Tomorrow's another day. It's just as long as tomorrow is back on track.

Morning all.
Youngest DS up all last night vomitting so now feel like the living dead....
However I am 3lb down from 3 days ago so that's all good.
Going to do my best again today, but with this level of tiredness I'm unlikely to stick to 800

Not2bObvious · 10/06/2016 12:13

Poor little one, hope he's ok now Moo? Drink plenty of water & just eat well, don't worry about 800 but if you can stick to the basics, 3lb loss is excellent but don't jeopardise it by carbing/sugar'ing up. Good food & plenty of hydration (and cafffeine😉) will get you through.
I'm up .6 from last Friday to 11.1.4 - it could have been worse after my 4 day weekend. Quite hungry today, but it's not an 800 day so hurrah! Exercise this week has been non existent, but I'll get KB workout/run/walk done over the weekend.

Thanks Notso. He's stopped being sick, just fairly grumpy!
I've not done too badly so far, prawns and avocado with a teaspoon of mayo in lettuce cups for lunch which was delish. But I forgot we have someone staying tonight and DH at cricket until late-ish so we may end up getting a curry takeaway which will not help matters. But I have cauli in the fridge so can do my own rice.

Elvish · 10/06/2016 19:02

Well I had a great night out but drank a lot so much so that I'm still suffering now.

The positive side effects are that I couldn't face food until dinner time, so hopefully that might help cancel out the millions of cals of booze I drank Shock

Sounds like everyone is doing well and feeling positive, I can't remember who I was going to congratulate or commiserate because my brain is fried so Flowers to all!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 10/06/2016 20:39

I don't know what's happened to me the last few days, I feel like I've totally lost control since the goats cheese foccacia incident yesterday! I came in at 1300 yesterday and today I've been OK but you know when the whole day feels like a struggle to be good. If I'd allowed myself, I could have eaten my weight in chocolate, but there was noting in so I have -just- managed to be sugar free, but too many carbs and cals. In the end, I've had a massive salad and loads of cheese, and a glass of wine. Had no yoghurt so had a bowl of frozen berries and a spoonful of mascarpone cheese and a teaspoon of stevia on top (I won't tell you about how I was eating it thinking mmmm I could freeze this and make sugar free ice cream....) . I've not managed my running since getting home from hols and I think I'm just feeling a bit frazzled, but this has been a tough few days.
Dh is watching the football, so I'm going to plan some meals and do a food order, and book in some exercise time on the calendar as well. I need to get my head back in the game! Hope you're all having a good Friday!

APlaceOnTheCouch · 10/06/2016 21:32

I accidentally ordered cream cakes and then ate them Blush I was using an old online shopping list and didn't notice them.

I had carrot and coriander soup for dinner to try to balance it.

This week feels like it has been a bit of a disaster. Although my calories have been ok, everything else has gone to pot.

I'm planning on being extra good for the rest of the weekend!

H3l3naGraham · 10/06/2016 21:49

Hi All!

Needless to say I transgressed, but hey it was a once in a lifetime occasion, Grin DH even managed to get his mug on the telly, albeit briefly!!

Feeling slightly stout tonite, but knew that would be the case & am not even letting any catastrophic thinking near me. Spoke to a waiter (as you do) he noticed I wasn't eating any of the pudding canapes, told him why. He then explained that he had lost 1/2 his body weight, 12 stone gone.......obviously I then monopolised him for a while, basically he said he had to do it, or he'd have gone to an early grave & that he's stuck with being careful for over 2 years now, so I decided then & there that if he can do it ladies, so can we!!!

So koko - yes you will lose the weight in 9 weeks, course you can, believe in yourself, have trust that you can do it!!

We will all get where we want to be, if we want to that much & hell, I do!!!

Bumped into a waitress from a local coffee shop place on the way home at the station tonite, she said she had to look twice because she hadn't recognised the 'new me', odd that friends have said little, if anything, but she made me feel so good at my 2st loss!

Hang on in there ladies, the ride will be bumpy, but out at the other end we will all be 'new' GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

oolaroola · 10/06/2016 22:37

That all sound fantastic h313n love it all!!

not you're so right, you summarised the point perfectly - thank you.

I've had a glass of wine today - a shitty day and a splitting headache. Tomorrow is a new day..

thenewaveragebear1983 · 11/06/2016 07:20

Morning! Well if Thursday was bad, yesterday was worse....but Saturday is going to be fabulous! Its back to basics for bear as I have eaten so much over the last few days, but hey, it can always be worse (ie didn't have loads of sugar or drink my body weight in tequila) so must look on bright side and move on. Something eggy for breakfast I think, something green for lunch, something meaty for dinner. Have a great weekend all, anyone got anything nice planned? (I'm going to clear out my kitchen cupboards after seeing a TV programme where they laid everything out on the floor and then only kept what they actually used. Every time I open cupboard doors, bits of plastic rain down on me, so I am going to cull the crap.)

APlaceOnTheCouch · 11/06/2016 08:32

bear it sounds like you have a good plan for the day.

The weather has finally broken here so I am thinking smoked salmon salad, cauliflower and broccoli soup for brunch; chicken curry for dinner.

H3l3naGraham · 11/06/2016 08:54

HI all, hope you have a great weekend. Off to stay with our friends in a bit, modest lunch planned, Japanese meal tonight & lovely Garden Party tomorrow all in aid of a big charity for the Queen's Birthday (this isn't an official function, unlike yesterday's!), hope the wet weather holds off.....& hope I can hold off what plans to be tea & cake, will settle for a small slice of quiche as suspect that's going to be the only alternative to sandwiches!!

Off on hols to Italy at some unholy hour on Monday morning, will attempt to catch up with you lovely people whilst I am away, but am going to try hard to be good food-wise & not to obsess over it whilst we are having fun in the sun!

Will think of you all & will keep my fingers crossed that your struggles bear fruit, you will come out the other side, remember, if we all want to do it enough, we will all get there! I am also guessing that a new stream will start whilst I am away, as we gain momentum, numbers & postings.

Have a good two weeks folks. Xxx

APlaceOnTheCouch · 11/06/2016 09:07

H3l3na have a lovely time with your friends and a fab holiday. Forget about this thread and have fun! or make one postcard post with a photo to make us all jealous Wink

Not2bObvious · 11/06/2016 11:12

Sounds like a lovely weekend ahead H3l, have a wonderful holiday! I had my cheat meal yesterday & when I say meal I mean chocolate/crisp binge. Bleugh. Done now. I tried on my bikinis and unless something radical happens, it ain't going to be a bikini holiday that's for sure😩 I look like a hot mess in them. So now for the radical...3.5 weeks to go to holidays, I'm going to go hardcore!!! Today is day 1 of 23. Going to do a class in 20 minutes, on 2 meals no snacks today. Company for dinner but low cal rose in the fridge, around 150 cals for 2 glasses, that's my limit alcohol wise. V low carb today. 1 day at a time. Lofty ambitions eh😉

oolaroola · 11/06/2016 13:39

h313 have a fabulous holiday.
not sounds like a plan - good luck, you can do it!

Bear I like your food plan, sounds lovely.

Muggy day here - have loads to do but still have a headache. Bleurgh.

mootime · 11/06/2016 15:45

NOt2b and Bear - birth of you sound like you are on it with the food reformation. Good luck!

H3 - have a wonderful weekend and trip to Italy. V jealous, I really can't wait for our holiday...

It was DDs turn again to vomit last night and both DS's spent the night bed hopping so assume that they were also feeling grotty. Eldest DS now saying he's ill... I am seriously bored of this bug.... Typically I am fine and could eat a horse....

Have managed to stay on plan, if not in cals.

DH at cricket again and so I'm home alone with I'll grumpy kids, one of which keeps trying to suggest I make biscuits. I feel bad saying no, but with my current frame of mind id really struggle not to scoff the lot myself!

Not2bObvious · 12/06/2016 08:46

Morning all. Finished out yesterday at 1500 cals or so - good for a Saturday and a good bit under tdee. Pondering what to have for breakfast, really fancy porridge - haven't had it in months, I never thought I'd say I want porridge! But the carb levels are wayyy too high. Eggs are a good choice but I'm starting to think I'm going to turn into an egg (if I go that shape I'll be p*ssed😜) Arg, what to eat. Flashbacks of the bikini with the belly hanging out over the waistband has me shuddering. Aching today after yesterday's KB class, it's one thing doing 20-40 video, totally different with an instructor pushing you. 22 days to go....

OP posts:
APlaceOnTheCouch · 12/06/2016 10:11

Well done not2b. Just think of all the calories you will have burnt at your KB class.

We ended up over at DM's last night and ordered a Chinese. I shared chicken with ginger and spring onion (with no rice) so stayed within carbs and calories. I will be interested to see what the scales say because this has been quite a mixed week.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 12/06/2016 10:49

Right bear, pull yourself together. You have 6 weeks until holiday. Stop eating crap. When you're thin you can eat all the crap you want (is is only partly true!). Get off your back side and off mumsnet and step away from the kitchen. Channel the grizzly, salmon eating variant and not the marmalade sandwich eating, Paddington variant. That is all.

Phew. Right, now I'm actually going to be good today. I did follow my menu plan yesterday but I accessorised it with white crusty bread and wine, and was a grouchy crabby mare all day to boot. The scales have warned me, but not outright lambasted me, with a cheeky 1lb gain, which we all know after 3 days freewheeling could have been worse! So today is a new day, a new week, and I'm back on it!
Have a great Sunday everyone! Tis raining here, grey and miserable, and I need an engrossing project, so I'm off to put a whole pile of clothes onto eBay!

APlaceOnTheCouch · 12/06/2016 11:31

You can do it bear
Although I must admit when I am having a crabby day, I either eat or sleep my way out of it. so I may not be the best motivator

I have lost 1.4lbs this week and have finally dropped into starting with an 11! Woop woop! 🎉
