Does it 'personalise' your calorie burn (ie use your own stats of weight etc to calculate?) Or just give a general figure. I'm sure I have read online articles giving calories burned per pound of weight doing certain exercises, but these were more basic like running/walking than specific things like taebo. Its difficult to calculate I'm sure because even the same exercise could use different calories in different people. I tend to just count to 800 and anything burned is a bonus!
I'm having a reasonable day, baby is grouchy and teething and miserable in the heat so I have barely had a chance to eat or drink as I'm doing everything one armed holding him! In the end I left for the school run 45 minutes early and took the scenic route, hoping for some peace! Its hot here and the sky is filling with thunder clouds.

caloriesburnedhq.com/calories-burned-walking/
This site has a calculator that uses your inputted weight to calculate cals burned, I haven't used it or explored if there's other activities on there

Not2bObvious · 07/06/2016 16:03

I don't ever use my exercise calories so it doesn't bother me too much - it's money in the bank in my mind. And just in case anyone's unclear-for bsd you shouldn't be using those calories on top of your 800. A word of caution that mightn't be necessary so no offence meant but there's a chance if you've come from ww you may be familiar with activity points, bsd don't let you have any of them sadly. Well if course it's an individual choice but it may affect that period of short & sharp weight loss.

I never eat exercise calories back either.

yumyumpoppycat · 07/06/2016 19:33

Guess it depends a bit on how many calories they gave you! I don't normally count exercise calories but on days when I have gone red on mfp I add my exercise to brin it back to green Blush. prob better of exercising and having more than 800 but still low, 1000 say, than 800 without exercise.

After saying I had the bsd down to a fine art yest, I have gone a bit nuts on chocolate this eve Blush

Not2bObvious · 07/06/2016 19:45

Never mind yum, it's just 1 day. Big glass of water, close the kitchen. I've managed at 800 including milk in my coffee. Hoping to see a better number on the scales in the morning - fingers x'ed!

APlaceOnTheCouch · 07/06/2016 19:55

yum I can sympathise. I haven't 'gone nuts' on chocolate but I keep wandering into the kitchen and picking. I feel as though I have the munchies!

I think I need to have an early night to stop me sabotaging.

yumyumpoppycat · 07/06/2016 20:26

time of the month Place? No such excuse for me, itsblinking cadburys fingers one and your hooked...I am adding those to the don't go there list along with mr kipling fondant fancies, pringles and cheesy doritos.

Well done Not2be, 800 inc milk for coffee is excellent. fingers crossed it pays off.

mootime · 07/06/2016 21:04

I've had a bitty day. Didn't have lunch then was famished so wolfed down a pack of wasabi peas. Then grazed on nuts and babybel while kids ate (prob too many almonds) and still waiting for DH to come home for supper of roasted leeks and soy beans with mozzarella and mint.

APlaceOnTheCouch · 07/06/2016 21:30

It is my TOTM yum. I am Shock at your psychic ability!

I ended up having a little square of pate; one pringle and one chocolate truffle - completely random mix. Calories are 750 and I am now in bed reading to stop myself from eating any more.

APlaceOnTheCouch · 07/06/2016 21:31

( I am now dreaming of Doritos mmmm)

mootime · 07/06/2016 21:52

Place - that's impressively restrained!!!

Posted half way through my previous post as DD threw up everywhere....
Looks like we may have a different weight loss strategy hitting the house...

LolBeansandSalad · 08/06/2016 06:43

Morning all

First week done- 4lb lost. Happy with that!

Have a good day all

Not2bObvious · 08/06/2016 08:28

That's brilliant lol - an excellent week 1 result. I've lost a few pounds overnight - goes to show how much the scales fluctuates after a weekend of wine & barely restrained carbs! Still have a few more to unload before fixing the damage I did. The old me would have thrown a tantrum and eaten loads to console me, like getting a flat tyre and slashing the other 3 in sense terms. Woke starving this morning so had a poached egg with a little butter. Probably have another egg for elevenses, salad for late lunch and pork stir fry for dinner. Plenty of water to be drunk too. I'll have to get my walking in here & there as I'm a lone parent til Friday. Dusted off treadmill but not a fan of it, we'll see if I can do a run on it at some point, but ugg

Morning! Madhouse here, trying to sort out o/n bags for different stages of the rest of this week & hols nxt week, doing my head in.

Some good results coming in despite nibbles, munchies & small transgressions. I was so stressed yesterday had G&T.... I normally drink wine, but if I opened a bottle, that would all been drunk. Nothing odd about a G&T you might think, 'cept it's my 1st one since I was 16, back in the Dark Ages...... As MM said spirits better than wine, thought would give it a go! Had 1/2 can Fevertree Tonic mixed with soda water to dilute the gin. Nice.

Despite that, I am only 1/2lb off my 12st pre-hols tgt, doubt will shift the extra 1/2lb with what's coming on Friday & over the weekend (staying with bestest mate with cancer diagnosis on Sat & going to a special Gdn Party with them on Sun), suspect wine & food will be consumed in quantities, but will try best.

Storms stopped, sun shining, packing to continue sorting!

Fingers X'd for you KoKo

mootime · 08/06/2016 11:10

H3 - sounds like packing Tetris. Well done on getting to 12 stone for your holiday!
KOKO - you sound the same as me! I'm so bored of dieting it's been going on forever.

So I spent most of last night up with a sick little girl and as such I'm zonked.
I've been picking this morning but might do and make myself some beans on mushroom toast. I feel like I need something nurturing and filling. If I go over today then so be it.

mootime · 08/06/2016 11:10

On a positive note, my tummy has lost some of the bloat.

Not2bObvious · 08/06/2016 11:42

Well done H3l! Maybe leave the scales be before you go away. Record that as your official holiday weight & have a lovely weekend with your friend - make some memories. 3 weeks & 6 days to my hols, you can tell I'm looking forward to getting away😉
Poor littlemoo and mummymoo of course! Focus on nourishment not cals today, if you eat to plan you'll feel better for it. Plenty of water will help keep everything at bay too. Had my elevenses of smoked salmon, saving the eggs for a while in case I get too hungry. Busy this morning which is great

Good idea not2b - will be getting back on them quick enough when we get back! So excited, feel like small child, plus there's Queen on Friday, but doubt I'll get that close and even further away if I drink too much fizz.......!!

OMG, had to look up Tetris moo - I am so old, at 1st I found a sex game on the web, but slowly dawned on me, that this wasn't what you were referring to....WinkLOL Lots!!!

Hope little-moo is a lot better today, remember stints of Norovirus all too well..... Grim.

Right, weird lunch of fridge-remains cooked, tortilla with aubergine base, mushrooms, onion, celery, a handful of baby toms & some asparagus, topped with a little cheese & avocado slices (was like a bullet) & finished off under grill. No idea of calories but DH liked it!

More ironing beckons...

Not2bObvious · 08/06/2016 14:26

I'm really struggling now, waiting to collect kids & could cheerfully chew my arm off. The one thing is noticed with bsd is you really have to be prepared, if you get caught on the hop it's lethal. I'd murder a burger...I hope not to, watching supersize me recently hasn't helped lol! Any normal person would find it off putting, me I'm salivating at the thoughts of a Big Mac - and I don't even like McDonald's!

OP posts:
H3l3naGraham · 08/06/2016 16:46

Think SMALL swimming Cozzie not2b not BIG Mac......

APlaceOnTheCouch · 08/06/2016 17:34

Well done H3l3na I hope you have a good weekend and a great holiday!

Not2b yy preparation is key. Both from a menu-planning pov and a snack-planning one.

I have no idea what I'm going to make tonight so have not followed that mantra at all today - oops!
