I have some cheese KOKO, one of the wrapped ones I buy for the kids as they are measured out so I can't cheat or have another chunk too easily.

Nuts are fatal for me, I bought a pack of almonds today thinking I would have a few for a very late/light breakfast. Couldn't put them down and ended up eating 100g which is about 650 cals ShockShock

I still had soup for lunch so I'm at my 800 for the day before my evening meal, and I really want a glass of wine now.

This might have to be a tdee day!

PuckyMup · 02/06/2016 19:22

Checking in :)

Definitely easier to do this when I stick to 50g of carbs! Calories still sitting around 1000-1200 but with that its become easier to ignore the carb craving so I'm going to go with that for now :)

Cauliflower has become my new best friend and I was very good today at carb saving and so got to have a few chips with my steak which has definitely boosted morale a bit :)

With lunches - First day I made a tuna salad and ate it from lettuce wraps - that kept absolutely fine in a coolbag , yesterday I took a mushroom cordon bleu in which would have been ok cold but I warmed in the micro, and today was a cold sausage fritata-y thing. Tomorrow I have "no potato potato salad" with a handful of prawns which I may eat with lettuce wraps again, not sure yet :) Not sure if those ideas help?

APlaceOnTheCouch · 02/06/2016 19:24

Thanks for the pizza suggestions. Luckily tonight ended up being quite busy I forgot a birthday in DS' class so had to run round buying a present Anyway, since we were in town I bought DS a McDonald's wrap to sabotage my pizza plan. There's no way I'd order a pizza just for me! Grin

I've now found a low carb recipe for a cheesy tuna casserole so am going to have that instead.

H3l3na great idea about the stuffed peppers. I love peppers. Even some crudities would work as I don't imagine sitting in the office will impact them much.

Not2 I might steal your cheat days idea. If I know it's a conscious decision rather than a lapse not only will I feel better about it but I'm sure it will taste better too because it won't be laced with guilt Wink

PuckyMup · 02/06/2016 19:30

These are on my list to make for lunch some time too - thinking them plus chunky bits of cauli/carrot/celery/peppers and some salad might be nice

H3l3naGraham · 02/06/2016 20:10

Just so I can pass on a helpful tip, hummus does not keep well out of a fridge for any length of time, everyone assumes it's just taramasalata which will do for you if it over-warms (yuk) but hummus can be equally dire, a chef told me this & I stick by it. He also said once you've finished your hummus, if it's been out of the fridge for a while eg a pre-dinner nibble, then chuck it out.

Anyway am sure you are all wise enough to ignore me or otherwise, just thought it worth passing on as allegedly warmer days are heading our way. Allegedly being the operative word here in Kent, a great 15 degrees today, 1 degree warmer than yesterday....

APlaceOnTheCouch · 02/06/2016 20:15

PuckyMup the spring rolls look amazing!

H3l3na we are in the middle of a heat wave in Scotland. It is as fabulous as it is unexpected Grin

I'm finishing the day on 886 I'm hoping if I tell you all that then I won't nibble later I'm also squeezing in another little walk before bed so may even make my steps target for today Shock

Is anyone watching that programme on BBC1 about superfoods? Really interesting and makes me feel better about not liking quinoa

thenewaveragebear1983 · 02/06/2016 21:31

keep I get that mad munchy craving when I haven't drunk enough water, it suddenly hits and catches me off guard. When I am properly on it, low carbs, drinking plenty of water, it pretty much disappears. It's not true hunger if it's frantic and sudden; true hunger is gradual and builds over time. My tip would be to recognise it and step away from the kitchen with a big glass of water. Easier said than done sometimes I know!

Not2bObvious · 03/06/2016 00:30

Second bear, mad munchies mean need hydration. In the time it takes to drink a glass preferably 2 of water, you can talk yourself down.
I've drank a wee bit too much but over many hours so I'm praying I'll be ok tomorrow. Hard night, I won't dwell or bore anyone but just emotional & tough in spots when it should have been happy. Anyway, tautology time, it is what it is, we are where we are. Doubting the scales will be kind to me tomorrow, but nothing to be done about it now.

A London weekend beckons, starting today, restaurants, friends over from Russia, an exhibition, a birthday party with people we haven't seen for ages. Wish me luck.....

hope - won't have time to watch the Beeb prog on Superfoods before we go on hols unfortunately (will try but doubt it) - briefly what's the quick low-down re quinoa please, apart from the fact that it's not the most satisfying eat on the planet....?

APlaceOnTheCouch · 03/06/2016 07:56

Not2B sorry to hear your night wasn't what you had hoped Flowers I hope today feels happier and sunnier.

H3l3naGraham · 03/06/2016 09:27

I second couch - I hope that your BH weekend gets better not2b sorry it started off on a bum note. Xx

Not2bObvious · 03/06/2016 10:30

Thanks ladies, you're so lovely. It wasn't a bad night just, well you know. Any who I'm up & not suffering too badly. Quite bunged up (tmi sorryBlush) so my 10'something day isn't today. Down a whopping .2, from 11.1 to 11.0.8😁 If my bowels would play ball I might have had a shot but hey ho, no big deal. Now not to be 12 something by next Friday after weekend madness. After 3 today I'm on meals out & hotel food. Going to be tough but I'm confident I'm strong enough not to balls it up...famous last words! I may check in to keep sane 😉
I'd say I won't be your weight twin this week elvish

APlaceOnTheCouch · 03/06/2016 10:40

WI this morning, I was 1.6lbs down from last Friday. I've come to the conclusion that if I lived in a sunnier country I would be thinner because I eat less and walk more when it's warm.

A close family member is waiting for medical test results this morning so I feel on edge and overwrought. I'm jumping every time the phone beeps and thinking I should probably have opted for a duvet day rather than going into the office.

H3l3naGraham · 03/06/2016 11:23

So I was right about the bum note then not2be.......!

Not2bObvious · 03/06/2016 11:36

😂 Never a truer word spoken H3l! Need to better at taking my psyllium husks capsules, that'll learn me as we say over here😉

H3l3naGraham · 03/06/2016 12:02

I take the powder as a drink every morning not2b, now taking Inulin as well, more for visceral fat, but it sort of works on the bowels as well as I discovered....quite startling in the wind arena...... ; )

Itscurtainsforyou · 03/06/2016 12:31

Hello there - I seem to be in a strange pattern of weight loss, roughly like this:
Wk 1 - lose half a stone
Wk 2: lose nothing
Wk 3: lose half a stone
Wk 4: lose nothing
Wk 5: lost 4lb so far

I'm not complaining as the weight is still coming off, but it seems really odd.

Anyone else find this?

Not2bObvious · 03/06/2016 13:13

That's absolutely amazing curtains, well done. Weight loss isn't linear and perseverance is key. As I said earlier I only dropped .2 of a pound but I could (wishful here) be down 2 or 3 next week. Keep doing what you're doing, it's obviously working.
Just finished a 20 min KB workout and then went for a quick walk. I jogged for about 10-15 mins of it and I'm thrilled. V funnily a young guy I saw running around caught up with me on my way out of the park and asked me how my run went - we had a little joggers chat with him saying I should do parkrun, me admitting I used to but haven't been in ages (as some of you know running & bsd isn't easy) Then I headed off, saying Bye, and slunk into the chip shop for a bag of chips to share with dhBlush

Hunger levels MUCH better today. Think is a combination of drinking more but also my body adapting.

Busy weekend planned. Can't wait for Monday's weigh in to see - will be 6 days in but going to count it as a week :)

Elvish · 03/06/2016 20:27

Well done Pucky, you will adapt and get used to eating more, keep up the water drinking and I'm sure you'll have a good loss on Monday.

I don't think we'll be weigh in twins this week either Not2be - I'm probably going to be more than you as I've given into temptation and I'm having wine and pizza tonight!

I'm going to eat it mindfully though GrinWink

Elvish · 03/06/2016 20:28

Less not more Hmm

Winehas kicked in already!

28DegreesIsTooHot · 04/06/2016 07:53

Ive lapsed a bit over the last couple of days but am getting strict again today.
I'm only going to eat between 12 and 6.30 and only 800 calories. I have to be this strict to have some control otherwise I just nibble mindlessly.

mootime · 04/06/2016 09:31

Hello. Can I come back???
It's all gone to pot here and I'm 6lbs up from when I last saw you all due to tough month work and family wise that has led to a massive carb binge.
I'm hopeful that a good old carb clear out will help shift that.
I'm going to reread the book and see if I can properly stick to it until my holiday in about 6 weeks.
I need to do this.

I'm also going to the GP in Monday as DH pointed out that I've been gaining and loosing more or less the same 10lbs since I went on the pill last year, and I've been generally working pretty hard at trying to loose.
