Worms must be low carb thoughGrin

mootime · 20/04/2016 21:23

DH vey kindly made steak salad for supper which was lovely. But I'm still starving, so going to have a small piece of cheese...

Obs2016 · 20/04/2016 21:33

I haven't been doing too badly this week. I've been 800 calories (or thereabouts) every day - morroccan lamb and roasted vegetables, pulled pork and salad.

H3l3naGraham · 20/04/2016 21:36

Moo & all, it takes about 30 mins from when food hits your tummy, to when your brain tells you, you have eaten & have had enough. 30 mins...... Eat no more, she says (total hypocrite...)

Wish my brain & belly worked faster

mootime · 20/04/2016 21:41

Damn. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A SMALL PIECE OF CHEESE. (Bangs head against wall)

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 20/04/2016 21:42

Sadness - I have ruined my phone by dropping it this morning. It started leaking blue inky stuff across the screen. I think I can get it replaced because it's still in warranty (at least, I hope they'll replace it) but that means I have to organise myself to actually find out how you go about this - and I will be phone-less while it happens, dooooooom! Anyway, because I can only see half the screen, I can't use the MFP app. I was on 400 calories after lunch when the ink spread so much I could no longer see properly. I've had a small chunk of cheese, a mini Pepperami and pork loin steak with mashed swede plus butter, and peas. That's probably more like 1000 cals than 800, but I was starving after lunch! I did the Couch 2 5k this morning and then Level 2 of the Shred this evening to make up for yesterday's cookie-fest, and because DH Shredded without me yesterday and I needed to do something to catch up. I am now completely exhausted.

Elvish · 20/04/2016 21:53

Moo can you post a link to your Spiraliser please? I bought a cheep one and I'm regretting it...

Elvish · 20/04/2016 21:59

H313 your social life sounds amazing, I can see why you're struggling, I would too but as my social life appears to consist of sitting in bed watching masterchef I've not got the same temptationsGrin

cheddar, what a shame about your phone. Write everything you eat on paper, even if you don't count the cals you won't forget what you've eaten and go overboard.

poisonedbypen · 20/04/2016 22:03

Sorry been out all day. Many thanks for the gram flour flatbread recipe.

I've been really good, list 4.5lb in the first 5 days, and in the last 5 days I have lost nothing. How can that be on 800-1000 calories/day with virtually no carbs?

yumyumpoppycat · 20/04/2016 22:35

Poison it is prob a glitch on the scale (see earlier scale sliding comments), either that or your fat is mobilising for a whoosh - koko and the lbs will come off again v soon.

H313 and moo lol at eating low carb worms, I would imagine they have negative calories tbh!

Well done on a good week Obs, excellent NSV,!

Cheddar so annoying when phone break, 1000 cals is still excellent .

Breadandwine · 20/04/2016 23:19

Just looked at the carb value of gram flour vs white (wheat) flour - 55 vs 75 carbs. Wholemeal flour is pretty much in the middle at 62 carbs. We're talking about 100g of flour, of course.

Here's a calorie counted(184 cals) socca omelette, with less than 20g of carbs, I make it. There are links to more gram flour recipes on the blog.

CodeComplete · 21/04/2016 08:04

Cheddar you could try using MFP on the website version until your phone is fixed, it's not as easy as just scanning barcodes with the app but better than nothing Smile

I'm a long-time lurker btw been following this thread for ages but prefer to lurk than post for some reason. I'm nearly at the end of my 8 weeks (with a few little breaks in the middle somewhere) and I've lost 1st 4lbs in total. This thread has been a huge inspiration and motivation to me so thank you everyone and well done on all your weight losses so far. We can do this!! Grin

oolaroola · 21/04/2016 08:33

Wow that's amazing Code I find it really helpful to hear from people who have got through the 8 weeks intact!

Scales all over the place here so who knows what I weigh here! gonna set them aside for a few days because I could do with concentrating on the nsv for a bit.

Did loads of steps yesteday and skating was quite a workout. Knackered today.
Going to try and fit in some strength things and pilates today so that should be a bit more relaxing.

Good luck all....x

H3l3naGraham · 21/04/2016 08:48

Sorry about your phone cheddar not sure what I would do if I killed mine, it's a lifeline since we moved.

Elvish we are lucky having a very active social life (much is linked to DH's business interests) , but certain weeks are so full-on, this is one of them, thankfully I can be dry & on-diet today, but have business lunch at posh club in London tomorrow & then we have friends staying for the weekend...... So I have written off this week as far as the BSD is concerned. Back on it Sunday.

oola have no scales where I am in London, possibly a good thing - well done with all your exercise!

Code fantastic that you have been so disciplined & come out the other side smiling, it's good to know of successes!!!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 21/04/2016 09:01

Morning everyone, weighed in yesterday at 12s 4lb which is a 12lb loss! This is now week 4 so I'm not going to weight myself again this week, I'm going to do a halfway-weigh on next Wednesday! Hoping to lose another 2lb this week so that I'm down a nice round stone. My aim was to lose 1.5s in the 8 weeks so its looking good.
poison I also found that after the initial woosh, I slowed down a bit, losing half a pound ish most days. I find that weighing every day means that you don't get that dramatic loss, just lots of little bits.
I've tried some alpro almond milk this morning, because after scanning over my tracker I have been using quite a lot of calories on milk, and as i don't have my kids today I will be drinking lots of tea and getting lots of jobs done. I'm hoping to keep to 800 most days this week as I've been creeping up to 1000 again, and I definitely think the big weight loss is going to come from cutting back. I've been doing lots of steps, but very little toning, and my stomach is beginning to look like a popped balloon as I've lost the fat from under the skin! My aim for the last 4 weeks is to find and use a workout, possibly 30 day shred?

mootime · 21/04/2016 09:09

Well done all you "losers"!

I'm back to feeling sorry for myself, but only only because I've got the bug that Ds had at the beginning of the week.

I feel really blah, achy, sick light headed... And I have two small children to look after, so we are all watching Frozen!

H3l3naGraham · 21/04/2016 09:23

Thank you for the recipes moo & bread - both look yummy. One thing this diet has done for me is expand my stock of recipes, I will use so many in the future when I finally hit my tgt and start maintenance, that or 5:2 Med!

mootime · 21/04/2016 09:36

That spaghetti recipe comes in at just over 500cals

oolaroola · 21/04/2016 11:33

H313 Do you have to go to lots of social occasions for work or do you just have a fantastic social life?
I find it sooo hard to stick to anything when confronted with a lovely buffet.
Also, you're supposed to be celebrating at these things, which just gives a huuge 'who gives a fuck?' feeling - pretty hard to will power your way out of!
Sorry, no advice other than maybe send someone very trusted up to the buffet/bar for you. It's really hard to have willpower all the time - I was sooo tempted to scoff a load of toast this morning.
Just trying to remember that I don't want to go through this ever again - and trying to make permananet changes. Little steps.
Having to eat worms might provide a deterrent though! Should have thought of all this when I gave up smoking all those years ago!

H3l3naGraham · 21/04/2016 12:04

Hello oola - DH's interests mean that we get to attend many big dinners 200+ people, drinks receptions + functions. Then there's friends, then there's rellies...... I consider it a good week if we have 3 nights in, but I have cut back my attendance at many dos, or I will never lose this weight! I no longer work full-time, I do consultancy work from home - keeps me out of trouble, when I did work I was in Europe at least once a week, travelling like that is shocking for any healthy eating.
No complaints, have been very lucky, life is short, want to grab at it all, but sometimes need to take a breath!!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 21/04/2016 12:13

I shall try to log my stuff on the online version of MFP.

I'd lost another three-quarters of a pound today which is good given that AF started yesterday. I've got an interview today - they are doing redundancies/restructuring at work and I've to be interviewed to see if I keep my job. Too nervous to eat! I might try to eat a bit of my lunch, very carefully so I don't drop salad dressing on my light grey interview dress! The interview is at 1.

mootime · 21/04/2016 12:27

Tooextra - good luck with the interview

H3 - it all sound very glam. The thing I miss most about working for myself is the social life attached to being in a larger company. Mind you, with three young kids there isn't much more room for anything anyway...!

I'm feeling too sick to eat which is the only positive of feeling so grim.

Peasandsweetcorn · 21/04/2016 12:43

H3 I always struggled to loose weight when my life was like that. There was always the risk of embarrassing myself if I tried as I can't tolerate much alcohol and it is worse of I haven't eaten much.

That celeriac recipe looks delicious. Not sure I can justify another kitchen gadget...

I am struggling today. A day at home without DC doing admin & chores and the cupboards are calling to me! I am wondering if I would be as tempted if I hadn't "broken" last night and had two handfuls of crisps and a couple of teeny new potatoes. The first week went so well.

H3l3naGraham · 21/04/2016 14:31

Get well soon moo and not2b. And good luck tooextra when my nerves play up I am the opposite to you, mouth like whale-shark...... do hope it all works out ok.
peas a smal amount of crisps + 2 wee spuddies won't break the week, if I get the munchies I eat 4 to 6 almonds, slowly. Or a carrot stick or 4, works, both are crunchy and the texture helps, there's only so much Total yoghurt I can eat! Their shares must be doing well at the moment the amount we are all eating, might help the poor Greek economy a little.
