Someone at work noticed I was thinner yesterday. This means I now cannot fail, I cannot have them notice I am fatter again if I give up, so I can't give up.
Every morning I try on something I think is a bit too small in my wardrobe. Sometimes they fit, which is nice. Sometimes I can struggle into them but they don't look good. Either way it is quite motivating, except for the leopard print dress that is not a god look at all.

Peasandsweetcorn · 20/04/2016 09:46

End of week one weigh in this morning and....drum roll... a 7lb loss! Grin Before any of you go Envy, remember I had been on holiday until the day before starting this and would usually expect to lose 3-4lbs in the week/fortnight after returning but, obviously, I have lost more than that. I think it will really slow down now but I am determined to stick with it & want to have another really strict week.
I was 10st5 this morning which means I am on the exact healthly/overweight BMI divide. For me 10st2 is always a psychological barrier so that's obviously my next goal.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 20/04/2016 10:01

Wow, Peas, that's amazing! Well done you!

And yay, exConstance, brilliant NSV there!

I have just womanfully resisted a granola square thingie. I came so close to eating it! Instead I made a cup of tea and a got 2 heaped dessertspoonfuls of Greek yoghurt. Mmm.

My issue is not bread. I mean, I like bread, but it's not my downfall. My downfall is always sweet things - cookies, particularly, or chocolate. Next week I am putting the entire family on a no-sweets diet - we will buy grapes and melon for the kids, plus plain Bourbon biscuits because I don't like them enough to break my diet over.

clare8allthepies · 20/04/2016 11:21

That's brilliant peas!

My victory for the day was going to lidl this morning and resisting all the delicious smelling baked goods. FYI for when we're all skinny minnies the cheese twists from there are awesome!

I have a massive shoulder of pork in the oven, it smells lovely already. Will have to try to restrain myself, I don't think 800 calories allows for much crackling! Grin

H3l3naGraham · 20/04/2016 11:41

Great result peas - exConstance I do that with my clothes too, despite self-induced plateau on weight-loss, my body shape is changing, put on pretty top I bought back at dawn of time yesterday + it fitted without below-bra bulges, it's so good when that happens isn't it!! : )

ExConstance · 20/04/2016 15:15

What a lovely lot you all are on here. I now feel enthusiastically fortified for my Quorn steak and green veg tonight!

oolaroola · 20/04/2016 15:29

Well done Peas that's excellent.

So back to the talk of scales on the floor - after my disappointing weigh in this morn I realised that the scales were close to the wall and slightly uphill, so I moved them back to their usual spot and they read at 10.3 instead of 10.4 and a half, so I think as I weighed all the other times with them at this position I shall mark myself off as 10.3 instead. Ha ha, that's the easiest 1.5 lb weight loss I've ever done.

Still means that things have slowed down a lot though so KOKO and all that. 12,000 steps down here and still the rollerskating to go later! Bring it on.

Not2bObvious · 20/04/2016 16:09

Lovely nsv H3l, lack of back fat is one of those really nice side effects of losing weight. I'm taking the day off from it all, a sick day quite literally. Washed out, although I have done over 14,000 steps so that's something

H3l3naGraham · 20/04/2016 16:53

I am well impressed not2b - how you managed all those steps whilst you are feeling rough, sounds like you need some me-time, a nice cuppa, a good tv prog to watch & a nice rest, perhaps even a piece of toast for being poorly................ Hope you rally tomorrow.

clare8allthepies · 20/04/2016 17:00

Hope you feel better soon H3l3

Oh dear there has been crackling.....much crackling!

clare8allthepies · 20/04/2016 17:01

Doh! Meant Not2b!

Not2bObvious · 20/04/2016 17:09

I did a walk this morning and then didn't feel too confident driving, so I had to walk kids to/from school, hence the mad numbers. Yep, the toaster came out twice Flip it, it's only 1 day

mootime · 20/04/2016 17:23

Not2b - hope you feel better soon.
Exconstance - that's a good way of gauging body shape changes.

H3 - I hate the back fat. I put on a too small bra this morning and my back looked like a hippo!

My pedometer on my phone has changed to km rather than steps but that shows 9.5km so that's not a bad days steps.

Just come in and ravenous so eaten an avocado and a baby bel which is better than having an icelolly with the kids!

Hopefully that will tide me over til supper at 8.
Can't decide between steak or celeriac carbonara. I fee the need for something hearty so those are my fall backs. Both nicely indulgent but v low carb

APlaceOnTheCouch · 20/04/2016 17:58

Ah, I made the mistake of going to Morrisons and walking through the cake section. I have no will power Shock Luckily I haven't eaten much else today so I'm still ok for calories but I'm going to have to watch my carbs and try to forget how amazing the cake tasted

On the bright side, I experimented with tuna fish cakes last night and they turned out surprisingly well. It's the first time DS has ever eaten any fish cakes I've made.

My step count is rubbish this week. Well done all you people totting up lots of walking and exercise.

H3l3naGraham · 20/04/2016 18:20

Moo if you can make spaghetti out of celeriac you deserve a medal, have posted on this before, but am well impressed, reckon you can have steak with some remoulade on the side. Scrummy!!

Yes, on the subject of technology, anyone know how to work the MN app, so that I can raise this stream as a "I'm on' as opposed to having to go into the old stream, get up the last post then get this new stream........

As I have mentioned previously, technically challenged....... Confused

H3l3naGraham · 20/04/2016 18:24

couch - food......I used my calories today on wine at the reception I went to, relinquished food for booze....... Blush now totally starving, could eat the carpet......

mootime · 20/04/2016 18:25

My super duper spiraliser does celeriac spaghetti really well. I actually bought it specifically for that purpose though so did my research! It's worth it though as it's the most spaghetti like in texture/ flavour and carries creamy sauce really well.

H3l3naGraham · 20/04/2016 18:47

Mine officially does too moo but I have very weak wrists, mind you, if I said to DH the magic word spaghetti, he might well get on it!!!

mootime · 20/04/2016 19:31

H3. You just have to write on a thread for it to show in the I'm on section. Does your app need updating?

yumyumpoppycat · 20/04/2016 19:37

my spiraliser is pretty arduous too H313, takes ages to spiralise a celeriac but does taste good. I have a celeriac in the fridge actually, does anyone have any other good recipe ideas for celeriac please?

Well done on all the victories! Quite a few people asked me if I had lost weight today, think it was because I went sans coat!

MarvellousCake · 20/04/2016 19:38

Celeriac carbonara sounds AMAZING. I'm going to have to buy a spiralizer, aren't I?

Good couple of days here. Couple of lbs down and feeling generally v healthy. I don't know whether wheat doesn't agree with me (and I would have laughed at the thought a fortnight ago) but since cutting out bread etc my whole digestive system seems 'calmer'. Be interesting to see what happens when I next eat some.

yumyumpoppycat · 20/04/2016 19:40

Staying away from wheat can make a huge difference Marvellous, I was doing really well today until I shared a little of a friends lunch at cafe because I was drooling to be polite, and it was all downhill from there. I find it makes me hungry but also quite bloated.

Sputnik · 20/04/2016 19:51

Marvellous I've had the calmer digestive system effect too, not sure if it's less wheat, less food in general or the fact I usually eat in an 8 hour window. Feel much better for it. Not had a great day due to a nasty coughing fit last night and not getting back to sleep. But I did manage to stay mostly low carb until succumbing to a small piece of naan bread.

Also managed a workout, fitness blender are my new BFFs, I love that you can choose something gentle if you're not feeling up to the brutal stuff!

Horrendous, DARK day with food...... And WineWineWineWineWineWineWineWineWineWineWineWineWine

Lovely reception, ate marginally, but then starving, DH suggested Chinese..... Aaaarrrrgghhhh..... Tomorrow is another day.... To mull over my total useless behaviour in social situations. WHY am I so crap, no self control at all.
