Hi all, I've not been on for few days and I've missed reading. Your advice, support and motivation helps me so much, I will catch up tomorrow. Yesterday we shifted so much soil and garden waste, we filled a full sized skip and I then ruined it by eating sugary junk. And I've continued today. What really surprised me was I was quite able to do such a physical job on so few calories, it was water/fruit tea I needed, not food. I'm pulling my socks up and will be back on plan tomorrow.

Elvish · 19/04/2016 07:04

Well I've decided I'm going to have a seriously consistent week with no cheating (at least until the weekend).

Rather than living in bed playing on the iPad until the kids wake up I've done 8 mins of abs work out. Doesn't sound like much, but it got my heart rate up and it's 8 mins more than I usually do!

not2be, thanks for the recommendation on fitness blenders, was nice and easy to follow.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 19/04/2016 07:34

Yesterday I consumed 30g carbs, the day before 55g.

I've put on 2lbs overnight, grr! This is probably Saturday catching up with me. Oh well. I should hit my step target today as I'm walking to my sister's.

Not2bObvious · 19/04/2016 08:09

My weekend gain is slowly leaving me, down to 11.4.8 - I had hoped to be under 11 by the end of my second 4 weeks (tomorrow) or by the 29th but I think that's unrealistic. I found it very hard to break into the 11's and stay there, so this isn't unusual for me.
That's the curse of daily WI's too, you see every flux, can go either way to motivate or demotivate.
Well done elvish on the abs, you'll feel that tomorrow😉 I'm not as sore as I thought I'd be so that's a bonus. Didn't get my walk in this morning, I think I'll go after work. Need to return those jeans (the size 8's bought by accident, I'd need a hip reduction for them ever to fit!)

Thanks for the Fitness Blender recommendation, I tried the cool down stretch today after my normal workout, I think tomorrow I'll do a proper one. It's great there's lots to chose from there, including low impact stuff which will be good for me with my recovering ankle.

H3l3naGraham · 19/04/2016 09:20

Somehow I have lost a further 1/2lb...... Miracle. Major spring clean today, will have to suffice instead of walkies unless I get my skates on!

Not2bObvious · 19/04/2016 09:47

That's great H3l, you're obviously being more good than bad. Spring cleaning is hard work, cleaning is hard work full stop. I haven't eaten yet as not particularly hungry, might help me stay under the 1000 so it's no bad thing. Glad you like the fitness blenders, I'm a huge fan, it's a great resource. They have these cool weights that's 2 pieces that you adjust to increase/reduce weights. I want them so bad but they're mega spendy. Need better justification to buy😔

H3l3naGraham · 19/04/2016 10:37

Thank you not2B - it just goes to show how much weight I could shift more speedliy if I put my mind to matters properly, but I also want to live my life! Someone else on this stream is doing 5:2 (reverse if you get my meaning) & I think it is working for her too. Mind you, after my sis-in-law showed up yesterday & we went out (chips... Wine.. Eek, but burger with salad NO bun, ever) I did worry before I stepped on the scales this morning - with both feet this time..... & it was all ok! Mind you I am mainly only eating twice a day at the moment, to counteract weekend naughtiness.

Interesting what you say about weights, am sure you have checked Amazon for similar, but it is a b-gger, isn't it, when you crave something but absolutely can't justify it? Do you have a birthday coming up.....?My sand bottles don't look very nice, DH suggested I spray-paint them.....

Not2bObvious · 19/04/2016 10:42

No birthday for a good few months - haha once you're over 40 I think you dread the birthdays, this is about the only time I wish it was sooner😁
I might just start saving and then treat myself when I reach a certain weight. Of course they could be instrumental in my weightloss. Maybe I'll start dropping hints for an early birthday pressie😏

I'm 3lb down this morning after having 2 good days at 800 cals, so now spurred on for another day! Today is day 21, I cannot believe I've gone 3 weeks with not a grain of sugar! Have a great day everyone! I need to do some toning up though, does anyone do the workout suggested in the book or do you all do other things?

mootime · 19/04/2016 11:45

Morning all.
newaverage congrats on the loss. Thats great news.
h3 .5 lb is great. its all in the right direction!

I definitely need to be more consistent! Scales showed me at 167 again this morning which is brilliant. However it makes me realise how much I could be loosing if only I just stuck to this more rigidly....

Need to start MFPing again as I have gotten out of the habit.

I also need to factor in some movement! DS is ill and so I am working from home, which means that I can't do my walking to and from work.

mootime · 19/04/2016 11:46

H3 - just realised that you said exactly the same thing!
Not2b - what are fitness blenders????

Sputnik · 19/04/2016 12:30

3 weeks sugar free is a great achievement bear!
Re exercise, if you head over to the fasting exercise thread there's loads of great advice in the op, and if you have a question BigChoc will show up and answer it. On 800 cals a day lengthy cardio sessions are not advisable, strength training is much better, combined with a healthy amount of walking.

Fitness blenders, look them up on Youtube, loads of free workouts for all levels, if you click through to their website you can sort them by type, level, duration, all sorts, even design your own workout calendar. They have the same strength building philosophy, so there is cardio there, but combined with strength as per the famous Gillian of shred fame.

H3l3naGraham · 19/04/2016 13:03

Hi Sputnik - thank you for the leads on exercise, you & Not2b have been very helpful on that front. I have been so busy cleaning the pigsty doing housework that I hadn't noticed the time, so guess it's the half an avocado left over from lunch yesterday with the remnants of the feta, which leaves me lettuce for dinner..... Best I make some more bean soup!

Moo - funny that we are thinking along the same lines, Spring is in the air, more fitted clothes beckon (eek) so it's not surprising we are trying to get ourselves to focus. Better.

3 weeks without a grain of sugar is excellent New/bear a terrific result, can't say the same of myself unfortunately, I tend to drink my sugar in wine.....

Wish my Olive magazine hadn't arrived today, on the cover are some delish looking egg-in-the-hole sourdough sandwiches. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, have no bread in the house and am not going out in what I am wearing so I shall have a miso soup & fantasise.

Funny isn't it, for me these days George Clooney has been replaced by an egg sandwich.Grin

clare8allthepies · 19/04/2016 13:12

I need to start doing some more exercise than walking to school and back twice a day. Last time I attempted to shred a couple of months ago I couldn't be bothered digging out the DVD so I looked it up on YouTube on the TV. It was on a fitness channel on there that had loads of different workout videos so I might try a few different ones to keep me from getting bored.

H3l3naGraham · 19/04/2016 13:14

Solved food, inside Olive mag is a recipe for crispy chickpea and kale caesar salad, 222 calories, 16.6g of carbs, 3.6g sugars. Works for me!

Breadandwine · 19/04/2016 13:56

Graham, with s/raising flour in the cupboard, you're never out of bread! Grin

Here's a 'Bread in 13 minutes' recipe for you.

mootime · 19/04/2016 13:57

Ooh that sounds lovely. Might go and make some Kale chips now actually. I'm starving...

H3l3naGraham · 19/04/2016 14:05

Hi Bread - to be honest, we usually have a slice each on Saturdays & Sunday's, just the one, heavy duty German rye type, but haven't re-stocked the freezer this week as it's full of salmon ( a regular dinner standby & was cheap!!) if I get a bread-type craving mid-week, I make a flatbread with gram flour, which is a new product to me since starting this diet, it's not 'bread' as such but does a treat as a base for a 'pizza' or as a wrap for the large amounts of salad we are consuming!

H3l3naGraham · 19/04/2016 14:08

Aargh... bread I moved my iPad out of the sun & saw you sent me a link.......

I shall pretend I never saw it.... Looks a lot more tasty than my flatbread, but I will not go there!!!!

Not2bObvious · 19/04/2016 14:35

B&W are you trying to start a riot 😁
We poor bsd'ers aren't allowed bread lovely lovely bread warm with butter
If I get arrested licking the loaves in M&S, I'll citing you as the cause😉

Yes indeed not2b - I'll be joining you in the cells at this rate!

I didn't think I ate much bread to be honest, what with yummy sushi & California rolls to chose over at the deli's near where I used to work.

I knew I would have issues with wine, but I had no idea how much I would crave bread.

Bread, need bread. No I don't.

I was lucky enough to spend 2 weeks in Vietnam seeing a friend last April, I didn't eat bread. They don't 'do' bread.

So why do I want it now? (eats carrot instead)

Will clean guest bathroom, that will keep my mind off those bad thoughts.Hmm

Not2bObvious · 19/04/2016 16:42

I would have said the same about bread, I think for me it's missing the handiness of slice of toast or a sandwich. There's a reason they give it to you after having a baby (unless that's an Irish thing?) Pure simple comfort.
And wine, well isn't it just divine😁 It's lovely & mild here today and I would love a glass sitting out in the garden in the sun with a fag and a bag of crisps

H3l3naGraham · 19/04/2016 18:09

Not2B - my mental image of myself in the garden is with wine and pate & toast!!!!
